Summary
One thing that Stiles - that everyone, if they really stopped to think about it - knows for a fact about Derek is that he doesn't like to be touched.
Stiles has probably noticed this more than anybody else for the simple reason that he almost certainly thinks about Derek more than anybody else does; it's kind of expected when you have a hopelessly debilitating crush on somebody. Not that he's admitting that.

"Oh," Stiles says, all surprise and brief wonder. "It... isn't. Is it?"

Stiles turns to him with raised eyebrows. “We haven’t finished Harry Potter,” he says, as if it’s obvious, and Derek just stares at him. “I mean, if you don’t want to know what happens with Fluffy and the dragon, fine. But I personally think that the plot only gets better from here."
(In which Derek and Stiles are both broken, but it takes a few paperback novels for them to realize that it makes them fit together just right.
A post-3B Canon Divergence, based on comment that said someone needs to sit Derek down on a couch and read him a nice book.)

Strange things are afoot.
Sometimes Dean tells him he’s gonna put a load in the washer and then when Sam goes down to check on it… it’s empty.
Sometimes Dean tells him that he’s going for a drive, in Baby, and yet, the GPS says she hasn’t left the garage.
Other times Dean tells him he’s going to visit Donna for a few days but a few months later when they meet up, she tells Dean she hasn’t seen him in almost a year.
The most popular excuse is going out to get laid. Sure, it’s a normal Dean thing. But is it normal that Dean doesn’t do it when Sam is there? Is it normal that when he does ‘head out lookin’ for a hot babe’ that he checks in to a hotel in Lebanon under the name Dean Campbell and doesn’t move for the next few hours?
Initially, Sam had thought Dean was just pissed at him for something or the other. Then he realised. Dean’s actually with someone. Has been for the past year almost and hasn’t deemed Sam fit to bear such knowledge. Initially, he was jealous and a bit left out.

Summary
Dean is so determined to be normal about Cas and what Cas said, so determined for things to get back to normal, that he starts counting his victories. First, he can touch Cas just like he did before--easy. He can comfort him after a nightmare--no problem. He doesn't even think about the fact that Cas is in love with him when Dean's moving around the bunker post-shower, as dressed down as he ever got before, just boxers and his robe closed over them. He's not even worried. Not even thinking twice about what Cas might see. Very natural, very cool; he can be cool about this.
It's just that, along with that, he can't stop thinking about the fact that Cas is in love with him. And when they start watching that fucking schmoopy ass show with Jack, Dean can't stop thinking about that kid, Nick, and where his story's going to go. Why does it matter so much to him anyway?
