“Okay, how about this then?” Chan knocks the rest of his drink back before he stands up and strides to his bedroom. He emerges with a silk black tie, which he passes to Seungkwan. He then takes his seat in front of him again. “I wasn’t peeking, but if this makes you feel any better…”
“Oh, Channie,” Hansol says with a suppressed grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. “I didn’t know you play ball.”
Seungkwan, Hansol, and Chan get tipsy and play some games.

“Everyone has to be selfish at the end of the world,” Chan replies immediately. “That’s the only reason we’re both here.”
Soonyoung wishes things were different. He wishes he met Chan on the street when everything was normal. Maybe they’d run into each other, and Soonyoung would probably still think he’s an angel, because Chan is pretty like that. He must’ve been even prettier with regular access to a shower. Soonyoung would stumble over his words— but he was never short on confidence— and he’d ask Chan to get coffee, or dinner, and everything would be good.

If he’s hearing Hansol’s voice, he must still be half-asleep. Or dead. One of the two. The only time he’s heard Hansol’s voice in the past few months has been in his dreams. He almost thought he was forgetting the cadence of it.
His vision shifts, sticking to recognizable objects. He's in the back of a car. It’s late afternoon. Hansol has no hair. Hansol is looking at him with a crease between his brows, mouth set into a serious line. He has a scar on his cheek that didn’t used to be there.
Seungkwan still doesn’t know what to make of it. Hansol shouldn’t be here. He should be dead, or long gone. Packed up with his brother and headed south. Not near the city.
“Am I dead?” Seungkwan asks. His tongue feels too big in his mouth. He swallows, but his mouth is too dry.
Hansol releases his hold on Seungkwan’s arms. He frowns. “Not yet.”
(OR: Amidst the end of the world, exes Chwe Hansol and Boo Seungkwan are forced to rely on each other for survival.)
