    Summary

Shane never thought it would come to this.

What once was a warm, fuzzy feeling of love in his chest, now was a mellowed, sharp frost encompassing his heart. He didn’t mean for it to go this far, to get this bad, but some things are destined to happen and some things are inescapable.

His leg was shaking, a rhythmic thump thump thump where his feet met the hard wood floor. His hands lay clammy, buzzing against the sheet of paper on top of the cluttered oak desk.

He really needs to clean this mess of tissues, pictures and stationary. He needs to bin the tissues and pack away the pictures and stationary into boxes where they will join the lines of cardboard in the moving van outside. But right now, all Shane can do is stare at the words “DIVORCE AGREEMENT” written in a harsh, bold, bland font. He never thought he would have such a document in his hands.

    Or,
after months of quietly falling apart, Shane and Ilya have separated and are heading for divorce, trying to keep it hidden from their teammates at Wyatt’s wedding, the looming legal deadlines force them to confront their mistakes and issues. Is it too late, or can they find their way back to each other?

“Shane Hollander’s having a big gay wedding.”
Ilya’s ball rocketed sideways into the woods with a crack like a rifle shot; somewhere in the trees, a goose honked in outrage.
    “Jesus Christ,” Tyler said.
“Wow,” Marly said. “That was…what the fuck was that, Roz?”
Ilya was gripping the club so hard his knuckles had gone white. “Bad swing.”
“That wasn’t a bad swing, that was like a physics-defying swing. I didn’t know you could make a ball go in that direction. You okay?”
“Fine.” Hollander was getting married. Getting gay married. Who the fuck was Hollander marrying? He wasn’t even… Ilya cleared his throat, shoved his biggest club back in the bag, noted distantly that his hands were shaking. “Hollander is gay?”

Rozanov made a dismissive noise. “No, no, I will pick you up. Send me your address.”

“I’m not giving you my home address.”

    “Why not!”

“Because you’ll probably post it on social media to psych me out before our next game.”

That made Rozanov laugh. “It is good idea,” he said. Stopped laughing. Started again. Blew out a breath like he had to get himself together. “I might do this to you,” he allowed, “but you have nice boyfriend living with you now. I would not do this to him. You are safe.”

In which Ilya Rozanov adopts himself into Scott and Kip's household and refuses to leave. Kip finds this very sweet. Scott is going to kill him.

    Summary

Shane wants to figure out if he's gay before he gets drafted—and no, the way he felt when Ilya Rozanov smirked at him with a cigarette between his lips in Saskatchewan has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, the random guy he hooks up with to try and make sure one way or another takes a picture, and Shane gets outed before the draft. In the ensuing scandal, he goes seventh overall, to Ottawa.

It turns out, having the worst thing you can think of happen to you when you're seventeen years old can end up being pretty liberating. And land you an unexpected best friend.

    Summary

Entering an actual relationship near the very beginning of when they first meet, Shane is still paranoid about pictures of them getting shared so Ilya buys him a Polaroid camera instead to document their relationship all the way back from 2012. The only problem is that he never intended for Yuna to find the album.
    ---
“I know we can’t have pictures of each other, but I still want them,” he confessed, still fiddling with Shane’s hair for his own comfort. “And I thought maybe...if they were just ours, you might be okay with it.”

Shane stayed silent, eyes glancing between his tense expression and the bag as he pulled out a Polaroid camera. His thumb was gripping it so hard he thought it might crack, his anxiety manifesting physically.

“Ilya...” He paused, finally sitting up a bit more. Enough that Ilya had no choice but to let his hand fall away from his hair or else, it would seem too clingy.

“Is fine, if you don’t like idea,” he clarified, even though the thought of being rejected terrified him more than he could possibly express. “Was just a thought—”

“I like it,” Shane interjected before he could spin himself into a tizzy he would deny ever feeling in the first place.
