The first week back is an endless parade of people checking on her. Garcia corners Trinity in the stairwell to tell her how worried she was with a very un-Garcia-like sincerity; Mel keeps shooting looks at her out of the corner of her eye; Victoria asks her if she’s ok at least three times a day; and even freaking Langdon finds her in the ambulance bay and tells her how sorry he is that it happened to her. Trinity tells him to fuck off, because it’s easier than admitting that she hates that she is again a person who has had a capital S Something happen to them.

When Lou Buckley gets the call from his niece on a sleepy Sunday afternoon, he can’t say he isn’t surprised, but it’s a pleasant one.
“I was wondering - I wanted to ask if - well, my friends and I were wanting someplace to meet up once a month, just like for a weekend, and we were wondering if we would come stay with you? It’s kind of complicated, see, because-” Lou politely waits for Robin to finish her spiel, complete with loop-backs and tangents, fiddles with the twirls of the phone cord whilst he listens to her talk. He doesn’t need to hear it, though, because he said yes in his mind three minutes back.

“My name’s Coriolanus Snow,” he fishes into his jacket pocket, produces a business card printed on thick creamy cardstock. “So now we’re not strangers anymore.”

Summary
There’s an earthquake at six p.m on the hottest day of the year so far, rattling the dishes waiting to be washed in the sink, shaking the walls so hard that the framed photo of the two of them from the night of Angela’s actual wedding tumbles to the ground, glass shattering on impact. It doesn’t last long, maybe fifteen seconds or so, just long enough for Lucy to chew and swallow her mouthful of Lucky Charms and for Tim to rush into the room, plaid shirt half buttoned, his eyes a little wild.

Peter gives her a look out of the corner of his eye, soft and searching. His mouth quirks up into a half-smile.
Which is rude. She's still trying not to think about him. She's been trying not to think about the way he had cradled her face earlier when he saved her from the wreckage in Manhattan; like she was something precious.
