Very fun story. Makes for good light reading since it's partly a visual medium and most of it has a pretty light tone, but it does build up some tension/existential dread later on by making the weird route relevant.

Kris is more determined than normal; but with every advantage a vessel gains, their opposition must gain one greater than that. A more outgoing and charismatic Kris can tackle some of their problems head on, but they very quickly find that they’re not the only one with agency they lacked before. And while they can finally reach for what they truly desire, sometimes that’s in contrast to what they think they want.
With a soul that whispers prescient instructions, and friends that seem very worried about the Dark World they find themselves in, Kris can only hope that, in the end, they can make things work out in their favour.

Another incredibly good story, if you like reading stories about both sides being hyper competent and trying to outmaneuver each other. Also has very good (and frequent) lighter and fluffier moments, primarily focused on shipping Kris and Noelle.

I can't recommend this story highly enough. It's the most creative take on the setting and on the Snowgrave route that I've seen. Canon is just the jumping off point for a rollercoaster of existential horror and unpleasant choices.

Fanfiction is strange.
It often meets the reader in medias res, assuming the upfront work of having consumed an existing professional work.
For the big fandoms ingrained into popular consciousness- Spider-Man, The Little Mermaid...- there's a reasonable assumption that most people already know the basics.
And Undertale has reached that level for a lot of people.But Deltarune is its own thing. Its own universe, characters we love just cameos in the background of a new rich story.
It's like
An AU fanfiction.I'd suggest you play Deltarune. That you give Toby Fox's second major video game production a try, especially if you liked Undertale.
But if you don't, I just hope you can get something out of this anyway. That it still says something to you through the confusion of learning a brand new strange world without context.
If you are drowning in the unknown, maybe you can drink some of the water on the way down, and maybe it'll even be sweet.
