There was a moment of silence, stretching into awkwardness. Nobody in the room had any idea about such a sum of money.
“There is gambling?” Depa said after a long minute.
“It’s fine in dire circumstances under cover, but we are NOT bankrupting a space casino.” Her former Master had debunked.
Another moment of silence.
“Come on, we should find something…” Plo Koon had interjected. “Or we really need to consider retirement.”
“Well, I have an idea…” Kit Fisto had finally said. “But I’m not sure what you will think of it. Remember it’s for our men, before you start to yell.” -

"Darth Sidious is dead," Anakin whispers, voice breaking.
"Oh." Obi-Wan sucks in a shuddering breath. "Oh. He's gone."
Anakin makes a pained noise and releases one of his master's wrists to tap-tap against Obi-Wan's forehead with an index finger.
"He's dead, Obi-Wan. But he's not gone."
-_-_-_-
"Are you alright? Have you had any…?" Cody trails off, either unable or unwilling to finish.
It doesn’t matter. They all know what he’s talking about.
"No." Wooley leans in a little. "We've been fine, sir."
Cody frowns. "Good days?"
"Average," Boil says over Obi-Wan's head.
Average does not mean good, Obi-Wan knows.

Summary
In the end it was almost insultingly easy. The expiration date for the Ruusan Reformation came and went without even a whisper or glance from the Senate. The shadow of reality that had grown and grown every decade suddenly vanished, like a ghost in the night.
But no one in the Temple sighed in relief when the morning came. Instead, they rolled their shoulders and set their plan in motion.
It was slow. A whisper that grew into one final, unheard goodbye. A gentle flurry that gained more and more speed and strength until the Temple stood abandoned and no one could remember when exactly they last saw a Jedi on Coruscant. -

Summary
Eleven years ago, the Jedi order got wind of the closing pincers of a Sith trap and scattered to the remote corners of the galaxy. Ten years ago, millions of clone commanders and troopers were introduced as the Republic’s new Army, made for fighting a war alongside people the galaxy seemed to be forgetting ever existed. Nine months ago, Commander Cody decided he was no longer going to risk his men's lives for the whims of clueless generals. Now, his decision to save a boy and a man in the desert, and the plan he comes up with to get away with it, will change the galaxy.

In the corridor beyond her quarters, other Jedi were emerging from their own doors, most of them wide-eyed with shock. A few merely looked blearily concerned, and Aayla heard snatches of questions as she darted past, queries as to whether everyone experienced the same distressing vision. But those who clutched at their chests or throats, their weak points- those Jedi bore a muted horror in their eyes, and Aayla didn’t doubt they’d just suffered their own betrayals from trusted men.

Dooku feels Qui-Gon cutting all his bonds after Xanatos' fall.
He is painfully aware of the consequences that could have. Has. Especially for mid-mission Shadow Feemor.
Feemor was in the middle of a high-stakes stakeout, when suddenly, without any warning, Qui-Gon cuts their bond. Rips it apart, more like it. Feemor isn't in a high-stakes stakeout any longer after that.
In which Dooku blanks for a few days, saves a caught-eavesdropping-on-smugglers Feemor and Feemors brand new, one-sided rescue project in the form of a very unconscious teen Jango Fett, and starts his career as a hobby cook and freestyle gardener.
Neither of the parties realize their respective affiliations until it's almost too late.

“What’re you making?”
Master Dooku is gesturing at Qui asking why the remains of some long-perished vermin is parked in the middle of the caf table, but Qui cannot explain through gestures alone that this is a creative hobby, not a red flag.
“A windchime,” Xana says tightly.
Obi-Wan peers at the table for a long time.
“Out of those?” he asks, pointing at the bones.
(Xanatos comes home and Qui-Gon ends up with two padawans at the same time at wildly different stages of life. The lineage comes together to try to help both get settled, and of course it can't be straightforward.)

Summary
If the squirrel no longer fears Yan, then he must find something that she does fear, and that is this. And this needs to be implemented in the garden immediately, if Yan hopes to protect any more tomatoes.
“My apprentice,” Sidious says, “I have noted that you have been absent from your post lately.”
“Taken ill, I have been, my master,” Yan says smoothly, as though he is not one such person who waltzes around town wielding a great, horned, plastoid bird.
Sidious blinks in a fashion that resembles the very same creature in Yan’s hands. Yan blinks back innocently.
“May we walk?” Sidious asks.
“We may indeed,” Yan says.
(Dooku joined the darkside because he thought it would take him away from a life tied up in red tape and, finding that what was awaiting for him on the other side of the Force was just more goddamn red tape, he moves out to the country to an old cottage and demands that his grandkids come help him set up a pig pen.)

Obi-Wan’s always had a rather regrettable relationship with painkillers, so when Anakin implies that Cody’s in love with him, his first instinct is to kiss the man he’s quietly adored for most of the war.
There’s only one, tiny problem: Cody never actually confessed. Oops.

Enter Cody Fett, a carpenter willing to build him an absurd amount of bookshelves who happens to be the most attractive man Obi-Wan has ever seen. Too bad he would never be interested in the pile of cardigans and misery that is Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"If General Kenobi had walked away with anger or irritation in his eyes, it would have been fine. Frustration, annoyance, even fury—all would be regrettable but acceptable responses. Cody could have moved on and put his general's disappointment behind him.
But General Kenobi didn't look mad, or indignant, or anything else so energetic.
He just looked sad. Sad, and a little lost.
Cody reminded himself that stuffing High General Yoda into a sack and drowning him in a mud puddle was both treason and strategically unsound. And then he started to plan."
