Alhaitham snorted. Kaveh smacked him from under the table.
“Oh, my mistake then.”
“He was very obviously flirting with you,” Alhaitham added. “But it seems that might just be his personality.”

Kaveh was a respectable woman; it was a fact about herself she took pride in, years of conscious self-improvement chipping away at any fault she didn’t like about herself that she also didn’t like in other people. There simply was a part that was aware of her slip-ups or the moments of hypocrisy that haunt her when she goes to bed. But still, she felt good about her character as a whole…
…if only she could overlook her more base instincts and needs that tried to drown her in shame and self-flagellation.
“I’m no better than a man.” She muttered frantically under her breath as she scrubbed their kitchen counter tops for the third time that day, hair falling out of her messy bun, eyes dragged away from the suds against her will as the puny human will cracked more and more at the gravitational force of The View. “No…better…”
(Kaveh will swear up and down that this was a "heat induced madness" that befell her, Alhaitham simply reaps the benefits of the whole situation by skipping chores and having her senior's full attention)

When the World Cup starts approaching, Kaveh is forced to play alongside his rival.
"Kaveh," Tighnari said sternly, in the tone he usually reserved for Cyno when he made a terrible pun. "You just got chosen for the Sumeran national team to play the fucking World Cup. And your immediate reaction is to be annoyed that you'll have to play with one of the best Sumeran football players."
"I just really hate him," Kaveh grumbled, zipping up his bag. "But fine, yeah, you're right. This is a happy occasion. I wish I could drink."
"Plus, it's a good opportunity to make peace with Alhaitham," Tighnari added. "Maybe this'll help end the ridiculous grudge you two have going on."
Kaveh snorted, then it devolved into full-on laughter. "Oh, Nari, as if. Us getting along is just as likely as Irminsul burning down."

Kaveh is in charge of rebuilding Alhaitham's house, which he's mostly happy to do - but Alhaitham has been acting strange, and it's making Kaveh nervous.
Kaveh wasn't sure that any commission had ever stressed him as much as rebuilding Alhaitham's house did, and it frustrated him to no end that he couldn't fathom why. Alhaitham was exceptionally laid-back about the new plans and rebuilding, deferring to Kaveh whenever possible. When it came to new features, choices of material, even prices, Alhaitham always yielded to Kaveh's opinion - which Kaveh would love if it were literally any other client.

They casually slipped off Kaveh's tongue and fell onto Alhatham's chest with such suffocating weight that all the air was instantly knocked off his lungs. He stared blankly and dumbly at the easygoing glow in Kaveh's eyes.
"No, you didn't," he replied, brushing the sentence off as a joke.
"Of course I did!" Kaveh exclaimed, lips curling around the words before he rolled his eyes. "Oh come on, you knew."

Summary
The weeks following the 'Irminsul-burning-down-and-nearly-destroying-the-timeline' event continue as Sumeru City rebuilds from the chaos Il Dottore caused. Kaveh becomes immersed in the process of reconstruction with his usual vigour, spending days working under ragebait (from both Alhaitham and clients), blueprints, discussion, and fatigue.
When he eventually makes his way back home after only a couple of sleepless hours, he finds himself facing the inside of the house.
More precisely, The decorative scroll he thought was lost during the Fatui break-ins somehow makes its way back.
And the normally INFURIATINGLY calm Alhaitham who looks exhausted.

By the time Kaveh started thinking about romantic love, he had lost his dreams and his mother’s company, but this didn’t prevent Kaveh from picturing his first kiss in a perfect, idealistic way: in Port Ormos, at sunset, with their bare feet inside the water and right after a heartfelt confession. It was right at that moment where Kaveh realized he didn’t mind too much the gender of the other person, only the feeling of their hands intertwined while their faces get closer, and seal their love right when the sky and the ocean takes a pink and orange hue before becoming dark, and they match Pharos Lighthouse with their radiant smiles.A perfect day, a perfect date, a perfect moment.
Of course, as it usually happens with Kaveh’s dreams, this didn’t go that way.
