It was normal for her to not see Jabber for a few days at a time. They did not live together. Neither of them lived anywhere to be exact. She spent her days in whatever dark place she could find and knew little about where Jabber resided, just that he was never far. She always informed him when she'd move long distances and even when they didn't travel together, he'd find her again. However she was starting to grow antsy now that she had not seen him in almost a week.

It was her first day off in a while, something she'd been looking forward to. If she let Whitaker go and spend 12 hours in the ER perhabs she could enjoy it. And normally she would do exacly that, really. But sitting at the breakfast table and watching her roomate sneeze his head off while trying to dizzily get the morning chores he had submitted himself to done was a horribly miserable sight.

He hadn't taken a day off for his injury since he first returned two days after obtaining it, years ago. He wouldn't do it now. Even when the usual ache in his bones had turned into a raging fire, forcing him to hunch over and catch his breath after just a few steps. Chronic pain was not an emergency, the rational, medical specialist part of him knew that. And even when the man in him cried out to just take a day off, he shut it out. People were dying. He may feel like he was dying but his pain wasn't, and never would be, an emergency. It was a fucked up muscle that wouldn't stop hurting no matter how much he slacked off. So that meant there was no point in falling behind.
