Summary
We all deserve it. No matter what we've done.
Many Terran Accord Marines either fell in battle, or were taken by the Affini Compact. Only a lucky few have been able to retire. One such man finds himself under the microscope of a wellness check, and his case worker, a bright eyed and tendercored plant woman, ends up realizing just how fragile he is under his rock solid exterior, even if he won't admit it. But even the strongest end up breaking in the end... and it falls to her to help him realize he deserves a second chance.
Set in the Human Domestication Guide universe, a sci-fi setting where plant-like aliens subjugate humanity to make them into pets. All characters are 18+ by the time the story starts.
