Summary
The night before the battle of Rose Creek, Faraday comes to Vasquez with an offer he doesn't want to refuse. The aftermath is complicated by injuries and recovery, but Vasquez thinks they might have things figured out right up until the morning Faraday is nowhere to be found.
The rest of the seven split into two groups with a promise to meet in Amador City in a few months' time. To everyone's surprise, Faraday shows up as well, drunk but with a lead on a gang of horse thieves.
(In which Vasquez and Faraday compare dick sizes, argue about Vasquez's first name, mend a literal fence, and spend some quality time in a barn.)

“Mipha has been triggering some memories in my dreams, and I was hoping you could too? We didn’t know each other as long, I don’t think, but I’m sure we have some.” He looks up at Revali hopefully, but all emotions have vanished from his features.
“You… don’t remember me at all?” Revali asks, searching Link’s eyes, and he sounds almost desperate.

“Did it trigger a memory?” Teba asks, and Link nods numbly. “If I may ask,” He sounds hesitant, which doesn’t bode well, “In the memory, what color was the bead the champion placed in your hair when he braided it?” Link isn’t sure why that would matter, but he gives the information anyway. “Purple… you say.” Teba’s face is one of someone whose world has been turned on its axis.
“It would seem the stories the Rito passed down over the ages of our champion leave out an… important detail.” He manages finally.- Language:

Summary
Arthur is so goddamn beautiful, flames shining in his eyes, mouth wet with whiskey. He palms the stray drops away with the back of his hand, busted knuckles scraping over a split lip.
John stares with his heart in his throat and his guts tied in knots, liquor making everything soft around the edges. Arthur catches his gaze for a moment, smiling wider and rolling his eyes at whatever Bill was rambling about before looking away. He pulls out a cigarette, striking a match on the bottom of his boot. Lifts it to his lips and lights it, tossing the spent match into the campfire, lips pursing around the end as he takes a drag. The cherry flares, and fades; John feels wild.
He can’t stop watching. Thinks of Arthur cleaning his gun. Arthur picking a lock. Sketching in the pages of his journal, lost in the lines; good with his hands, so intent. John thinks about what it’s like to be on the other end of focus, Arthur’s eyes narrowed as he cleans blood off of John’s face, ready to stitch him back together.
He’s never more real than when Arthur is looking at him that way; like he is all that matters.

“Another vacation already?” he called, and hoped Arthur turned around. He hoped Arthur picked a fight, but he didn’t know why. Maybe because it seemed like the only way he would look John in the eye anymore.
“Yeah. There’s an invalid keeps whinin’ and if I don’t get a break I’ll lose my damn mind, likely as not,” he said, and if there’s any venom in it John couldn’t tell because it sounded like every other sarcastic response Arthur’d ever given.

It was made of cotton and linen, dyed black. There were also some soft pieces added to the panels in the front. Satin or silk, Abigail thought. She didn’t know much about finer fabrics. The boning was firm and in wonderful condition. It was made to fit a woman of a larger stature than her own. Perfect for John’s tall, muscular form.

Faraday considered him for a long moment - mouth swollen and tilting up at the corners, hair mussed, dark eyes warm and soft in the golden light off the fire, the last thin vestiges of daylight coming in through the windows. It made Faraday's chest hurt to look at him.
