Summary
“I could help.”
Mercury turned. It was still hard to see in the darkness but Venus just knew the smaller planet was wearing a skeptical expression. “Uh… really?”
“‘S just feathers, right? Can’t be that hard.”
That didn’t seem to imbue Mercury with confidence. Rude.
“Alright then. Go bald on your own.”
“I’m not—“ Mercury flapped irritably and slumped. “You’re… being serious?”

Summary
Ah, right. He was supposed to be working on his ‘listening skills’. The star crossed his arms and tilted his head, pressing his lips together.“When…” Astrodude started, then seemed to rethink, shaking his head. “Did you have any help? With taking care of the planets?”
Oh. Was that why he came outside? It was a stupid question. Sol shifted his weight, shrugging. “Nope!”
A silence. “Really? No one?”
“Nope.” Who would Sol have gotten help from?

Summary
Earth pulled the book out of orbit, flicking through it while talking. “It’s more of a logic puzzle than math, but it does have numbers so um… technically? I think…” he trailed off and cleared his throat. “Would you like to learn how to play?”
“Yes!” Neptune liked numbers after all. And it was quieter here. He folded his legs up beneath him and leaned forward, attentive.
“It’s actually meant to be a one person game,” Earth explained, showing him the contents of the pages. A grid with a seemingly random scattering of numbers going from one to nine. Neptune felt himself perk up even more. “I can teach you the basics— you’ll probably pick it up fast anyway— and then I can give it to you for you to do in your orbit?”
Neptune tapped his fingers together excitedly, and nodded.

Summary
“So, you’re… our star?”
Sol nodded, and dimly realised tears were dripping down his face. When did that happen? Probably a while ago.
“Hello,” he rasped, and oh, his voice sounded horrible this was not a good first impression. He cleared his throat and sniffled, raising his hands to wipe his eyes and stiffening when the tiny planets flinched away. “Sorry, I’m just…”
He didn’t know how to finish that sentence. Overwhelmed? Relieved? Guilty? Grieving? He sighed heavily. Words were hard, and he was tired.

Summary
Earth’s hands slipped down to his shoulders and squeezed. “Just… tell me if they get worse, alright?” Earth smiled and tried to inject a little levity into his voice. “Otherwise we might have to send half the solar system to fish you out of the Kuiper Belt, too.”
Luna’s face shuttered as some unreadable emotion seemed to hit him. Earth instantly backpedaled. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Can you go five minutes without upsetting someone. “Sorry. Too soon right? Yeah, of course it’s too soon, I—“
“I’m sorry.”

Luna starts having flashbacks to Proto and Theia. This opens up a much needed conversation.

Summary
The asteroid that killed the dinosaurs was already going pretty fast. It hurt, pretty bad. Nothing like playing asteroid dodgeball at all. Funnily enough, it only put him off asteroid dodgeball for about fifty-thousand years. Kinda long, when he looks back at it now, but they didn’t really measure time back then. Things were either a short time, or a long time. Sometimes even a medium time, if you felt like breaking the mold. Either way, afterwards he felt kind of stupid for thinking he would’ve been able to change anything anyways. The things they do only matter if it’s inconvenient for them. That’s what Saturn says, at least. Or, said, one time and very off-handedly.
“Oh no, his move was so bad he died,”
Someone is waving obnoxiously in front of his eyes. Ugh. He’s kind of in the middle of something here.
“What?” Earth complains, swatting Mars’s hand away.
“Don’t what me, dude,” Mars says, but he doesn’t sound upset. He just looks a little amused.
The Sun doesn’t talk to any of them anymore, time moves a lot slower now which is an unrelated phenomenon, and recently, Earth has been star-gazing a lot more.

Summary
Nothing was going to stop him from getting home.
He’s the Sun. He’s a star! He can do this. It’s just some more walking. That’s all. He can walk, right? Of course he can! It’s simple! The planets leave their orbits all the time and make it look easy. It doesn’t matter if this is technically the first time Sun has left his orbit, he’s supposed to be strong and fierce—an indomitable force to be reckoned with.
Yes. Yes, he can do this.
He has to—if not for him, for the beings cradled in his arms.
OR
Sun returns, with hi- the celestials in tow, exhausted and injured but alive.
And unfortunately for Sun, ignoring your own injuries doesn't go as well as he thinks it will

Summary
"They hurt you." Whispered his gas giant, rubbing his face against Sol's cheek. "Didn't they?"
Sun... didn't answer him. Instead, he adjusted his hold, covering Jupiter's body with his hand, and shielding him from the cold. The old, but familiar position pleased him greatly, prompting his heavy eyes shut. "...None of your concern, Zeus." He breathed with a step forward.
"They did." a painful shudder wrecked his frame, finally letting out all those miserable emotions he'd been carrying for millenia... Sol was cuddling him when they got back. "Because of me."
"Jupiter..."
Or
The aftermath of Sun leaving his orbit to get his celestials.
The little yellow dwarf star, while oh so glad to finally have his babies back with him, won't let himself call them his anymore.

Neptune has always had a strange memory.
Shifting and disappearing much like the planet himself.
It's not a problem, really.
...even if sometimes it is.(7 vaguely connected snapshots of Neptune and his memory.)
