with bloodied hands gripping too tightly around it. only to still be holding its visage in his mind despite their best efforts to take it away.
he heard a click from the far side of the apartment, "am I interrupting?"
he knew that voice..raspier then before but still. it played in his mind endlessly..sometimes to mock him like how he heard him on that day and sometimes he thought..that day when the Enforcers and that man spoke to him, it was the last time he was spoken to as a person..even the pity was not unwarranted.
he barely looked to the voices source, already not caring to engage as much as his mind had questions. the man stood with a cane that seemed ill fitted, it seemed to both be a cane and a crutch, with pieces a-fixed together to make it so. in the dark he couldn't see the craftsmanship well but it had to be done well if it held together well enough to hold his weight. he also had a brace on one leg, made of mist-matched pieces of metal.
his mind immediately had thoughts of improvement to both designs, his mind never could shut down, even when he's actively attempting to get on with his death.

It had been two years since the old King of Zaun died and the new King was crowned, the prince ended the seemingly endless war in those two years. Jayce had only been home from the war for a few days when he was summoned to be knighted for his services. he was only a squire then..when he had enlisted. under knight Loris, they both survived by the grace of Janna perhaps..
he's still not sure if its a blessing or a curse.
but here he kneeled before the King, King Viktor. the man stood tall with his cane to his side with a blade in the other as he knighted him, speaking of his duties that he must foefill, dressed in forest green and purples with gold woven through, as if a being from folk tales "courage, humility, honor, and loyalty to the truth and to your King" he continued "do you swear this, Sir Jayce?"
"I swear it, your grace"

after leaving his home and fighting a war just to escape his grief, Jayce is forced to leave more things behind to look forward but..as with all things, nothing ever stays in the past or dead for that matter.

Due to Cait and Vi schemeing and Jinx being along for the ride they finally meet.
When a fateful night results in a very unhappy Viktor returning home before game night ended they finally meet and well..making friends as an adult is hard.
