“You’re not going to say anything?”
Shoyo stayed silent, staring at Atsumu. Waiting. Admit it, he thought, say it out loud. Come on, Tsumu, be brave like you always say you are. Say it with your own words: I cheated on you, Shoyo.
Atsumu finally looked up and, for the first time in that night, met his boyfriend’s eyes. Shoyo looked exhausted, like if sleep had abandoned him days ago. His face was unreadable, frozen like a statue. He sat, supported by the bed, staring at Atsumu with empty eyes, lifeless.
It was as if, without Atsumu, all of Shoyo’s essence had been drained. He wasn’t the same vibrant Shoyo Atsumu had fallen for. How long had Atsumu been neglecting him to the point of not noticing that all his light was fading?
“I cheated on you, Shoyo.” The words slipped from his mouth.
Shoyo smiled.
