“I reckon ye only be mad at me,” he started, his eyes closing shut like he knew the prince would bring him no harm. “ ‘Cause ye 'ave no freedom in yer own life.”
A simple sentence was all it was really, words compiled together to form a meaning. Sometimes such meanings were in fact meaningless, they held no truth and were only spoken for the sake of aggravation. Though in even rarer times, there was truth rooted in the very ground of the meaning and that was what caused the aggravation.
But what would a pirate know?
Or: Royal prince Seonghwa who is first in line for the throne, finally meets the recently captured and most feared pirate in all the Seven Seas who has been condemned to death. Every year on the feast on the Ceremony of the Golden Rose, the crown prince is to take a rose dipped in gold to present to one special prisoner as a gift of freedom and a new start at life. This year is like no other, besides the fact that the great pirate king who infuriates Seonghwa to no end might end up shedding a new kind of light on the young and very adventurous prince, changing his views altogether.

Summary
Prince Seonghwa and Captain Hongjoong both have things they refuse to do.
Seonghwa refuses to die by a pirate’s hand, especially after being tossed in a ship’s brig to rot. Hongjoong refuses to tell his crew why he agreed to kidnap Aruna’s infamous second prince in the first place.
But if they could just throw a clean hit to the other’s face? Neither of them would refuse an opportunity like that.

‘’Hongjoong’’ Seonghwa starts quietly, ‘’Did you use my once a year, limited edition, subscribers only, handmade, custom coloured index cards to fold into an origami bouquet?’’
‘’Your what?’’ Hongjoong asks, confusion bleeding into his tone, ‘’I used the cards that were on your desk, I thought they were just normal paper?’’ Seonghwa looks up to meet his eyes, and the look on his face must tell Hongjoong everything he needs to know.
Hongjoong is Seonghwa's number 1 academic rival, Hongjoong is not aware of this at all.

Summary
Lorelai reached out and took her hand, pressing their fingers together. Her blue eyes, so like Rory’s own, filled with tears and she smiled. Rory could feel her own answering smile, her own answering joy, and she laughed with relief. The fear that had been clouding her, the panic, gave way suddenly and sharply to joy, and she fell into her mother. Lorelai wrapped her arms around Rory and rocked them, the bear squashed in the middle.
“My baby’s having a baby,” Lorelai whispered, and Rory hummed giddily into the side of her mum’s neck.
“I still don’t know what I’m doing,” she whispered back, but it didn’t feel so heavy anymore.Post AYITL Rory has a lot of decisions to make about what she wants her future to look like, while she simultaneously looks back to write her book.

The thing is, Mack and Will never actually talked about what they were.
Mack assumes that's because the answer is obvious.
Will assumes it's because there isn't much to talk about.
Unfortunately, those are not the same thing.
Or: being someone's boyfriend for weeks without ever realizing it.
