As crianças que tinham DNA de Arceus geralmente eram levadas a um laboratório para testes. Eles os colocavam uns contra os outros, e geralmente alguns não sobreviviam, e qualquer criança que os outros considerassem "fraca" eles batiam até cometerem suicídio.
Depois de alguns anos, quando misteriosamente completaram 6 anos, o DNA de Arceus já não era o mesmo.
Eles passaram por vários testes, e aqueles que se mostraram fracos nos outros experimentos foram tratados como sacos de pancadas.
E um desses alvos favoritos era Ash, que foi encontrado quando tinha apenas 3 anos, depois que sua mãe sofreu um acidente de carro e não sobreviveu, e desde que descobriu que tinha o DNA de Arceus, sua vida parece ter piorado.
Ele protegia os fracos, mas sempre foi humilhado por eles por demonstrar fraqueza ao proteger os outros, mesmo ainda sendo humilhado e usado como saco de pancadas por todos.
Ele ainda não se deixou influenciar e protegeu os mais fracos, mesmo que isso o tornasse alvo de bullying e desprezado por quem ele salvou.
