Summary
Though air was squeezing from her chest, Shosanna lit her own cigarette and began to inhale smoke, carefully examining Fredrick's gifts, placed right in front of her on the wooden table of Claudine's bistro.
They seemed more like bombs waiting to explode at any moment than anything else.
One wrong move, and everything would blow up.
"I don't know what I'm supposed to do with... all of this," Shosanna declared, between puffs of her cigarette, her gaze hard as stone. Actually, inside of herself she was experiencing a whole series of conflicting feelings that she didn't have the desire, or time, to analyze right now.
Fredrick's playful laughter filled the space between their bodies, dissipating into the still air of that hot Parisian afternoon.
"That's usually what you give when you want to court a girl... or at least that's what my sisters always told me to do in this kind of situation," Fredrick stated, his childish smile growing wider and wider.
[Fredrick wants to give his Emmanuelle gifts to court her. But Shosanna doesn't know what to do with the feelings this unleashes within her]

Jacqueline was a wonderful woman, there's not much to say about it.
Even Archie and Bridget were also very impressed with her personality and the chemistry she had with Fredrick. In particular, Shosanna noted how much Archie was delighted to see his close friend and colleague in love with a beautiful girl instead of being imprisoned in an hopeless, unrequited feeling.
And if Shosanna had been in his shoes, she would have thought the exact same thing.
But, unfortunately, it wasn't like that for her, because she unknowingly had been the girl Fredrick once loved so much for a long time.
So every look that Fredrick gave to Jacqueline, every little attention towards her, every laugh, every touch and every kiss shared between them were a constant, infinite torture for her soul.
There could have been her by his side.
In fact, she had been in Jacqueline's place, without realizing it.

Summary
Shosanna and Fredrick became extremely close.
They laughed a lot, even though their characters were progressively sliding towards tragedy. They were able to understand each other with a glance, to bring out the very best acting in a scene... Shosanna always smiled when they were together, in and out of her character.
It was a truly unique thing, never experienced before in her whole career.
Too bad for that signed clause that anguished her and always came back to her mind when she realized that her budding work relationship with Fredrick was leading to something more personal every passing day.
It didn't matter how nice and sweet Fredrick was to her and how much he talked to her about his life, passions, secrets - he was born and raised in Munich, had six older sisters, spoke seven languages, listened often to Rammstein to concentrate before scenes, learned to play the piano like Daniel, and he read a lot of books about the Nazi occupation in France.
He was a coworker, just a co-star... he was automatically off limits.
[Shosanna is a young actress casted by Hans Landa. His co-star, Fredrick, is amazing... too bad she signed an an anti-fraternization clause]
