Summary
Langa believes he and Reki will be together forever, but the return of Reki's childhood friend disrupts the relationship he was certain would lead to romance. He certainly wasn't expecting he'd end up as Reki's fake boyfriend or for their promise of infinity to fade when he returns to Canada
Now Langa’s last scrap of hope that Reki might like him has withered and died. Until this moment he clung to the idea that Reki cluelessly thought he was straight and would eventually realize his romantic love for Langa—but he likes guys! He already knew he likes guys! He just never told Langa he was gay or bi or had a boyfriend.
Hearing Reki laugh and brush him off once again, Langa realizes that maybe their paths aren’t so clear. Maybe for Reki, they’ll run in parallel forever. Maybe he never really had a chance.

Summary
Reki wakes to soft warm breath against the nape of his neck. At some point in the night he and Langa must have swapped places because now Langa holds him close around the ribs. Reki stretches a little, trying not to displace his partner, relishing the warmth against his back. Langa snuffles a little at the fuzzy hairs at the back of Reki’s head and his lips travel to just behind his ear.
“Reki,” he whispers hoarsely.
“Hmm?”
