Summary
Her favourite thing about dating him?
As if...
But really, as she walked into her living room, Chloe could not have been more certain of her answer.
How he looked when he was asleep.
It never failed to take her breath away.
She grinned to herself, soft and secretive, as she drank in the sight before her.

Summary
"Your heart stopped twice!" She nearly screamed, "You nearly bled out on the pavement! You-"
"But I'm fine, Detective!" Lucifer countered, "Can't you see it? I've been through much worse countless times and-""And that doesn't make it better!" She almost sobbed, "Lucifer, that makes it worse!"
"How does that make it worse?" He asked, confused, "I... I don't understand..."
"Just because you can handle pain," Chloe declared, taking both of his hands in hers, "doesn't mean that you have to do so."
Lucifer just stared at her, silent and uncomprehending, as if she had been speaking in some alien tongue that even he, fluent in all tongues, could not possibly begin to decipher.

Summary
Lucifer flinched, almost violently. Trixie tightened her arms around him, gentle yet firm. She would not let go, not when she was a complete believer in how he just needed to be loved and hugged.
"I like having you around, Lucifer." She declared, "I always have."
"Yes, er… Thank you, urchin." He nodded, fingers twitching as if he was trying his hardest to stop himself from prying her daughter off him, "You-you can let me go now. We have to sit down and... eat. Dinner would get cold otherwise and that would be a shame because, because..."
Unable to resist, Chloe found herself latching onto him as well. Her hands overlapped with her daughter's as they stood there, hugging the devil within an inch of his immortal life.
Trixie laughed, delightened. She tightened her hold on him, making Lucifer let out a surprised 'oof'.
Chloe pressed her forehead to his shoulder, running her hand down his back.
"We really, really love you, silly." Trixie informed him, "Just you."

Summary
He looked... perfect. His hair mussed from where she had been tugging at it a second ago, his lips reddish and swollen, his eyes twinkling, and his smile so wide and suggestive and genuine .
But somehow, the spell which enamored her time with him; the simple magic of being together was...broken. Fractured.
"Detective?" Lucifer hesitated.
"Why do you call me that?" She blurted, her voice a tad too loud, blushing instantly.
And Lucifer was... he was looking at her... staring at her as if she had just proclaimed her desire to leave police work and start on the path of becoming a devout nun.

Summary
He stared at her from she was sitting in front of him, cross-legged on her bed. Her little shoulders were still slumped though, and her smile was just a bit forced. After all, her eyes still looked so very sad...
"You don't believe me." He concluded, "Oh, Urchin, if I get my hands on whoever put these outrageous notions in your tiny head..."
She observed him, amused but still unconvinced.
He had to fix this. Right now.
Lucifer thought for a moment, his solutions heavily circulating between flying said bully down to hell or showing them what the face of the devil actually looked like. Oh, how he hated bullies...
"Spawn!" He exclaimed, "Do you still want to be the president of Mars?"

Summary
The offspring did not say anything, studying his face.
"Never fear asking a question, urchin." He said after a while of uncomfortable silence, awkwardly clasping her hand in his ridiculously larger one, "Never to me, especially."
"But what if I make you sad?" She asked, brow furrowing, "I really don't want you to get sad, Lucifer. You're already sad enough."
"Sad?!!" He repeated, scoffing, "The devil doesn't get sad, urchin. Really, now, where do you even get these outlandish ideas?"
She regarded him, unamused, still trying to decide if she should ask that question of hers.
"I won't be sad." He sighed, curiousity burning, urging him to know what the bloody question had to be, "I give you my word."
She sighed again, before closing her eyes and nodding.
"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"
Lucifer went for a laugh, the horrible pick-up line version of her question flashing in the back of his mind.
But he failed. Tremendously.

“Ready?”
She nodded frantically. Her eyes might as well pop out of their sockets. She… she was almost making him queasy with how she was bouncing on the balls of her feet just a bit, the epitome of eager anticipation.
Honestly, all he was doing was showing her a hell hound. Was pleasing children this easy?
Lucifer brought two fingers to his lips, whistling at a frequency that her human ears could not even pick up.

"I'm fine, Detective." He laughed, shaking his head, "I just... Have you seen it?"
"It?"
"My ring." He confessed, his eyes scouring the bathroom as he began to fiddle with his diamond cufflinks, "I seem to have misplaced it."
All this anxiety over some jewellery?
"You look absolutely perfect with or without it." She smiled.
Lucifer returned her smile, but it was strained. She noticed it immediately, wondering what she was missing.
She was about to say something when he turned on his heel and left, presumably to continue his search for his ring.Series

Summary
She turned to the two culprits, finding them covered in the condiment from head to toe. Lucifer was actually dripping ketchup into the floor.
Wow.
“It was her!”
“It was him!”
Chloe scoffed at the simultaneous yells and the identical pointed fingers and affronted, yet slightly panicked, expressions on their ketchup covered faces.
Lucifer wiped some of the ketchup off his face, glaring at her daughter. “It was her fault, Detective.” He declared solemnly, “She got ketchup all over my Burberry!”
“It was an accident! Then he started a ketchup war!”

Summary
“Detective!” He whined for what felt like the millionth time that afternoon, “I’m bored!”
Chloe took a deep breath, trying to restrain herself from strangling her partner.
A few days later...
“What?”
“I love you!” She yelled, “I love you, you big idiot.”
“No, you don’t.” He insisted, crying freely now. "Please, don't."
Suddenly, she was pulling him down by the lapels, kissing him with everything she had. Words weren’t going to make him understand.
“Detective, He’s controlling you and-”
She kissed him again, pulling him into a hug.

Summary
“I thought you wanted to figure out these issues, now that you are living with Chloe and Trixie all the time.”
“I do!” He exclaimed, “It’s just… It was just manipulation. She was busy. Both of my parents were. It isn’t a big deal.”
“It’s called abuse.” Doctor Linda informed him gently, seeing his struggle, “Abuse and neglect, Lucifer. You didn’t deserve any of it.”
Lucifer hands were shaking. His heart was being obnoxiously loud in his chest. This was too much.
“I think that’s enough for today, Doctor.” He managed to say, almost fleeing the couch and allowing the door to slam behind him.

"Funny thing is, I couldn't stop thinking about it." He chortled, his tears soaking her blouse, "Why make me the way I am if He knows everything including every single thing I'll do and how I'll turn out? No one knows how it all works, mind you, but surely this is a bit too much?"
She could try and tell him that it was alright. She could try and tell him that life was all about not knowing. She could tell him something about a grand plan or how everything had a purpose. She could even voice how much she hated almost everyone in his accursed family.
None of those felt right. None of those felt enough.
How could you tell someone everything was fine when the world was falling apart around them?

Summary
Maybe they should just tell Dan the truth about Lucifer being the devil. Would that make things better?
“Absolutely not!” Lucifer exclaimed when she suggested it to him one night while they were curled up together out on the balcony, watching the stars, “Besides, I have a better idea.”His “better idea” was to prank Dan no less than ten times a week.
His pranks ranged from somehow breaking into Dan’s apartment and swapping out his entire wardrobe with undersized pink tank tops and booty shorts to filling his car with a lot of cats (and Dan was allergic so…).
At some point, Maze got in on the prank fest (after she finished threatening to disembowel Dan and tear him apart for making her favourite little human cry).
That was around the time things got out of hand.

Summary
“Sure...” She shrugged, “Whenever you’re in the darkness like that, all alone, just imagine me next you. Walking right alongside you.”
“You could never be the Queen of Hell.” He declared, “You are too good for that fowl place.”
“Lucifer, screw Hell.” She sighed, “I’m talking about you. Wherever you go, I’ll follow. Whenever you need me, I’ll be there. If that means that I’ll be the Queen of Hell, then just give me a crown and point me towards the throne.”
This woman…
She was going to be the death of him.

Summary
A while later she surprised them both by kissing his devil face. It hadn’t been planned. They were watching a movie together one lazy Sunday afternoon. Lucifer was watching her instead, his red eyes narrowed again. She could almost see the cogs in his head turning. Chloe just turned to him, basically climbed into his lap, and kissed him.
This time, he didn’t kiss her back. He didn’t do anything actually.
“Lucifer?”
Had it been too much?
“Did you just…?”
She kissed him again, not sure what she was trying to prove but needing to prove it anyway.
“You’re beautiful.” She told him, smiling softly, “All of you, Lucifer.”
He barked out a laugh, staring at her as if she had gone crazy.
Was it really this hard to believe?

Summary
If she ever decided to look back on the recent years of her life, there would be one person who had been the highlight of them all.
He was important to her and crucial to shaping her current reality. He was funny, smart, and weird. Finally, as of a few months ago, he’d gotten together with her mother too. They were happy now, kissing when they thought she wasn’t paying attention and making heart eyes at each other almost as much as they bantered and argued.
Lucifer Morningstar was special.
She didn’t see him a lot at first. Her mother had called his first few visits “breaking and entering”. That was apparently a crime, but Lucifer was like that sometimes. He didn’t like the rules much. Besides, he was the devil. The devil was above human laws, right?
Oh, well… She just loved having him around.
There were a lot of reasons for that.

Summary
She watched as Lucifer slammed Dan to the wall, rushing towards her ex-husband instinctively. Her mind was looking for injuries, her fingers ready to find her phone and call for an ambulance. At least he hadn’t gone through the wall or broke his back...
Dan was fine though.
It might have as well been the work of some miracle, but other than being pissed off and a bit rattled, Dan was alright.
She helped him get up, scanning the back of his head for an injury she knew she would not find.
“Daniel, I-”
“Screw you, man.” Dan snarled, “No wonder your dad kept him and threw you out.”
Had she been able to, Chloe would’ve slammed Dan into a wall for that comment alone.
Michael seemed to relish in it though, his grin widening. “Precisely, Dan!” He cheered, “I suppose Sammy was always meant to get tossed out, being the trouble-making failure that he is and-”
“Enough!” Chloe exploded.
