“I didn’t take proper notes in class so I’m probably going to fall behind, and my laptop is falling apart, and the ice caps are melting, and someone broke into our house last night and I totally froze and I think that means I can’t be a proper superhero anymore you should just take my suit away,” Peter doesn’t say.
“Everything is gravy,” Peter does say and he does a finger guns thing which feels very cringe and, judging by Mr. Stark’s single raised eyebrow, also looks very cringe.
All right. All right. Peter promises himself. If he gets through the rest of this day without embarrassing himself, he will tell Mr. Stark about the burglar before heading home.-

Luckily, Peter had hacked into the Iron Man suits for cases like this.

“He’s the only one out on the streets, poor kid.” Tony shifts on his seat, moving to another angle to take a clearer look at the kid from his window.
“Tony, I swear if we are going to bring him in–”
“Bring him in, I can hand my suit to him.”

“Spidey, they’ve got reinforcements. We’ve hit a bit of a snag here, and I don’t think anyone will be able to help you for a while. Think you can sit tight while we deal with this?”
The pressure on his lower back and legs was becoming too much. Peter swallowed thickly, fighting down panic. He could handle this.

“Kid’s a nut job,” Happy scoffed before sticking his fingers to his eyes, rubbing tears away or just hiding them, Tony doesn’t know.
He’s not bothering to hide his own.
“He finished high school that first year, when I had custody, and went to college in New York and- god, Tony, I know he’s not your blood, but- but fuck. I’d- I’d come up to check on him and he’s running ten holo screens at once at two in the morning with textbooks and parts littered all over the place and Morgan’s just a toddler, fast asleep on his chest— one arm rubbing her back and the other directing Friday. It was- he’s a miracle of a person.”
