Matt hadn’t thought too much about the consequences of hospitalizing that man.
Of course he hadn’t- all he wanted was to protect that little girl.
The last thing he was expecting was for the little girl’s mom to lose her custody of her- apparently adopted- child.
Wait, no, actually the last thing he was expecting was to find out he was the little girl’s last living relative.
Matt had most certainly not prepared for the eventuality that he might end up guardian to the child he protected that night.Or: Mathew Murdock ends up with a child, somehow. It turns out that this isn’t the worst thing that could happen.

Summary
Isolated and recovering, and yet still determinedly on the hunt for anything to keep him from the torment of his mind, Matt Murdock doesn't think anyone besides the nuns at the church know he's alive. That is, until an unexpected visitor shows up and offers him a deal. What harm could that do?
This fic is set during the events of Daredevil season 3 and simultaneously Punisher season 2. Yes, it diverges wildly from canon, but that gives me more creative freedom so we go with it.
