Summary
This was not the life Aragorn wanted. To settle down, his ranger days behind him and never to come back, trapped in his father's farm... he could not think of a life more unfit for himself.
If this was not tragic enough, his loneliness and his apathy seem to attract everyone in town... everyone but Legolas, the baker's son, who appears to be polite enough to mind his own business but sufficiently charming for Aragorn to tolerate him.
After Legolas befriends Brego, Aragorn's horse, the beginning of a new friendship shakes Aragorn's plans of being miserable and alone for the rest of his life, and he can't seem to get enough of Legolas' presence.
Because that is what all friends feel for each other... right? -

For 85 years, Legolas has been a loyal and obedient servant to Lord Elrond in Rivendell. He's been in a secret loving relationship with his master's son, Aragorn, for the last 55 of those years. Will their love survive the War of the Ring?

“Maybe so meleth nin,” The elf panted, "but your body answers to my voice whether you want it to or not.”
“What is it Elrond felt important enough to share with you and your pet during our meeting that he did not see fit to share in common tongue with us all?”
All characters & stuff belong to Professor Tolkien. Much of the story you know is the same, just with Aralas alterations and additions.
