Runnin' wild in the night

Summary:

That one time Paul and Marko chased Surf Nazis in heels.

Notes:

I was working on a chapter for the polycule fic with Nightshade when Mötley Crüe got brought up and there's the story of Nikki Sixx chasing Lars Ulrich from Metallica in heels and I said "chasing people in heels feels so much like a Paul thing...and maybe Marko too."
So here we are, Paul and Marko chasing people in heels lol

Title from Running Wild Into The Night by Mötley Crüe (of course)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Michael hummed in contentment, his belly full and his thirst satiated. Walking alongside his pack mates, he wiped away the blood that stubbornly stained the edge of his lips. The action, so thoughtful and demure, brought a bout of amusement amongst the other vampires, the four of them giggling and laughing softly at Michael. The brunet pouted, giving them a glare.

"What's so funny?"

Dwayne snickered, raising his hands in defence; "Nothing, nothing."

Michael growled, reaching over and trying to tug at Dwayne's long hair, but the latter easily dodged. It only served to make everyone laugh more. Michael bristled.

"We just think it's a waste, you could've licked it off." David tried to sound serious. He came around and swung his arm over Michael's shoulder, trying to smooth the fledgling's ruffled feathers. He added on with a chuckle, "You looked cute."

Michael stuck his tongue out at David, which the blond ignored. He brought his hand to Michael's hair, ruffling his chocolate brown curls. Michael groaned, trying to pull himself out of David's arms, to no avail. Defeated, Michael found himself chuckling along. He was still petty about the laughing, though.

Walking a fair bit away from the massacre that was their last meal, the vampires found a spot to sit by the beach. The five of them settled onto the stairs leading to the Boardwalk. They earned a few disgruntled stares and sneers from the tourists and passersby as they blocked an entire section of the stairs, but it did little to deter the boys. With their perch claimed, the group fell into conversation, joking and teasing each other, as well as jabbing and kicking at each other for fun. Paul even produced a joint, which was now being handed around. It wouldn't be long before everyone would start giggling at air.

Michael found himself leaning against David, who was more than content to be cuddling in public. David's arm snaked around Michael's shoulder again.

"Comfortable?" David asked, the playful banter from the others fading into the background. His entire focus was on the brunet he held against his side.

Michael smiled, nodding. The feed from earlier was making him sluggish; however, he felt warm, fulfilled, and extremely satisfied. He supposed he was experiencing the vampire equivalent of a food coma. It always happened to him, and Michael hoped it wouldn't become a regular occurrence. Regardless, it felt good. And he got the added bonus of David, which was always a joy.

Speaking of David, the blond was grinning at Michael's response. He slipped his fingers under Michael's chin, bringing the brunet in for a kiss. David's lips tasted like blood. Michael was licking, chasing the taste on David's lips, hungry for more. He groaned. David broke away with a laugh, but didn't protest. He simply leaned in again, letting Michael go at his lips, opening his mouth for good measure and letting the fledgling get what he wanted.

A zipper being pulled made David and Michael snap their heads towards the sound. Michael's heart would've skipped a beat if it had still been beating. He really panicked for a moment, thinking one of the guys had just shed their pants. However, what Michael saw was arguably more questionable.

Marko was pulling up the zippers of a pair of platformed, heeled boots. And Paul wasn't too far off, putting on his own pair. The heels were massive. Michael had only ever seen his mother's kitten heels; these looked like stilts in comparison. They could have been sixteen inches for all Michael knew. Marko and Paul were laughing their asses off. Dwayne was leaning against the railing of the stairs, shaking his head in amusement.

Michael raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Marko, the fuck?"

Marko barked a laugh, crossing his legs. He was beaming with pride. "What do you think, Mikey? Don't I look good?"

"Marko, Paul, where did you get them?" David asked flatly. Looking back, Michael could see the faintest hint of a smirk forming at the edge of David's lips.

"Took 'em off those girls we ate," Paul answered, grinning. He looked like a dog would after being told he was a good boy. "Pretty cool, huh?"

Dwayne laughed lowly; "Yeah, Marko's finally the same height as us."

Marko protested, yelling at Dwayne. He leapt, stumbling slightly on his heels as he pounced at Dwayne, tackling him to the ground. A wave of laughter washed over the group, everyone cackling as Marko fought Dwayne in an attempt to defend his honour. All in good fun, of course, as the two of them were howling with laughter as they rolled around on the stairs.

Michael was laughing along when someone pulled at his hair. He thought it might've been David, trying to reel him in, but at the same time, Michael knew David wouldn't touch him like that. Whoever this was, they pulled hard, almost ripping Michael's hair out. Michael yelled in pain, his head being pulled harshly to the side as whoever it was leapt over the group.

The five vampires looked up, seeing a blond man run off. He was wearing a tank top and denim pants, his hair caked with salt and sand, and the scent of the ocean practically dripped off him. A friend of his joined, not far behind as he also marched through the vampires on the stairs, shoving Michael and David apart at the opportunity to do so with a snarky laugh.

"Faggot!" Michael heard him yell, the two men running off along the beach. Really, it shouldn't have bothered him so much. Surf Nazis were assholes; they were just like that. They weren't only targeting Michael and the guys. Except the blood Michael had drunk still ran cold at the insult.

A growl rumbled in David's chest. The blond didn't immediately jump into action; he could feel Michael's fear radiating in waves through the bond. Quelling his anger, David pulled Michael close to him again.

David didn't need to act. Marko was already on his feet.

"HEY!" The shorter blond hollered, running down the stairs and onto the beach. He stumbled slightly, his platform heels sinking into the sand. He fell, catching himself on his hands, but he quickly recovered and booked it down the beach, hunting the two men down. "That's our boyfriend, you fucks!"

"Motherfuckers, what's up?!" Paul didn't waste a second either, fast on Marko's literal heels as he too chased after the humans on the beach, his massive heels kicking up sand as he ran. "Oh, you're getting it!" Paul threatened, his angered voice growing more distant as he and Marko chased after the Surf Nazis. "You're getting it! We're getting closer!"

The perpetrators, Marko and Paul disappeared along the beach, their voices fading into the night the further they ran. A moment of silence passed between the remaining vampires. Michael just stared down the beach towards the direction where Marko and Paul had run off in heels, blinking in surprise.

David snorted. He doubled over, covering his mouth, snickering into his gloves. His shoulders shook as he tried to hold back his laugh. Dwayne didn't bother; he threw his head back, roaring with rambunctious laughter. Michael let out a breath, the worry and fear he felt melting away as he let out a nervous chuckle, which quickly morphed into a cackle. He, Dwayne, and David were howling like a pack of hyenas. Tears formed in his eyes, his cheeks ached from smiling, and his stomach cramped, and yet Michael couldn't stop laughing. Burying his face in his hands, Michael tried to breathe, taking sharp and wheezing breaths. All the while he was still laughing as his life depended on it.

Michael wasn't sure when the cackling stopped, but he knew when he could finally breathe again, his face was flushed, and he was chuckling and wiping tears from his eyes. Dwayne and David weren't all that better off either; the two of them were still wildly amused by what they had witnessed.

"That's the funniest shit I've ever seen," Dwayne managed to say in between his giggles.

David barked a boisterous laugh, "Thank god for Marko and Paul." He sighed, clearing his throat to regain his composure. "I'm sure it'll be a lovely dessert run for them."

Michael started laughing again.
