There was a little in this world that surprised Hsin, let alone fascinated her.
The Sentinel was old; way too old to bear feelings such as being taken aback by actions of others. She was a witness to many—actors of whose talents were made odes—bards skilled to the point their voices reached heavens above—ladies so beautiful that only the sun was not looking away in worries to be burned alive.
Truth to be said, it was very safe to claim she believed to be immune to any charm, to any sweet talk, to any charm.
Many tried, and even more failed. Hsin used to be offended by them trying to conquer her standards only to disappoint those who were willing to believe; but lady Sentinel was not of those souls.
Since the ancient times, this fox's heart searched for thrill, and it was nauseated by what the human world could offer to this urge of hers.
Possibly this lack of faith in human's uniqueness was responsible for the sheer ignorance Hsin showed to her new possible ally—the one who reminded her of golden chongming birds that nested in the mountains of Mengzhou.
Ages ago, Hsin hunted them down for the thrill of watching them struggle and fight for their lives; that young vixen, so careless, so full of life, was a pleasant memory to the Sentinel.
It was precisely that what she intended to do with he new ally—she was ready to find a weak spot, and as soon as it was bared, she intended to sink her sharp teeth into it, enjoy the sweet agony of a bird that has only a few moments of life left. Hsin dragged her tongue over lily-white canines as this imagination crossed her mind.
Meeting her—the golden chongming bird—Sui Sui—in person was a moment Hsin felt, after so terribly long time, properly surprised.
Her bird was like a first ray of sunshine after too long winter, and the old fox hidden in shadows wanted nothing more than to bask in her. She was vibrant, radiant, and the Sentinel couldn't resist the thought that she also looked quite delicious.
It was because of that charm of her that the vixen was eager to test her, especially after her little bird showed as a cunning little creature instead of a vulnerable prey.
But even if Hsin was the one who threw obstacles in front of her feet, it was also her who decided to help her when the time came; she wanted the little bird to understand, and for a first time in quite a long time, she didn't felt the urge for the golden one to feel foolish. No, no, Hsin wanted her to truly know what are her motives.
The resistance of the golden bird was the final straw; Hsin accepted her defeat with a proudly raised chin, and her eyes glimpsed with curiosity and hunger whereas her little bird left her victoriously.
For Hsin, it was just a matter of time for her little golden chongming bird to seek her out again; and thus, she was able to prepare herself better to test her. She was still unsure if she wanted to devour her, eat her alive… or to keep her for an entertainment the cunning beauty promised.

Hsin was a master when it came to searching for openings that would benefit her, and only her; although this time, it was not even needed, as the opportunity she was waiting for decided to dance right into her embrace.
Her banquets were matters of a high prestige, and even though Mengzhou was pressed by serious circumstances, she refused to let go of them. Her cunning bird was right when she claimed she had her hand tied up—the true reasons yet unknown to that pretty mind—and these occasions were Hsin's helping hand to her people.
The Sentinel could not save them from everything, but she could help them to hold their morals up; an unhappy soldier does not win the war, he just marches in to meet his death sooner rather than later. If there were souls who believed she was not doing enough, that was simply not a concern for Hsin's heart but rather their owns.
Part of her customs was to make an entrance later, when people has their fair share of drinks, when they were blushing from the alcohol and the heat, when they let their minds loose for their Sentinel to tug at their strings.
Today was no exception; the sun already laid down into its nightly lovers bed by the time Hsin set foot to the banquet in the Fogveil Pagoda. Her ears were filled with sweet music, people below her chirped with life and positivity; such a contrast to the outside world. Her heart fluttered for a split second. While she could be harsh and mischievous sometimes, Hsin still remained the Mengzhou's Sentinel, and seeing her people flicker with joy made her heart at ease.
What truly caught her eye was a dashing golden beauty in the middle of the parquet; her body was thrusted into arms of many dance partners as the rhythmic composition currently playing required. Her robe hugged her in the most desirable way possible, and the slit of the skirt showed her silky legs in an almost scandalous way.
Hsin felt rather displeased as she watched men almost tripping over each other just to get a chance to hold the beauty for a split second.
Possessiveness over their prey is rather an usual habit for foxes. That golden chongming bird was not those men's to hold—she was not theirs to push around like a rag doll—she was not meant for their eyes to map every inch of her bared skin. Fox above the parquet unconsciously pulled her ears slightly aback; in her chest, a flame of pure possessivity over her little prey-bird ate her alive.
Hsin moved to cease it from happening as fast as lightning; while the giggling bird was ready to land in hands of another jolly man, instead, Sui Sui found herself to be held by hands soft as a cotton and cold as a snow.
The look at their Sentinel holding a golden beauty in her embrace, even the most imprudent man was hushed away in a gesture of unwanted respect. Hsin white ears perked up in a sign of a clear challenge—is there anyone foolish enough to steal her precious prey from her very own hands?
None dared to step up; Hsin's sovereignty was a fact every soul in the room had to swallow up. The Sentinel could not care less if someone manages to choke on it.
Only an horrendous host would have left their banquet as soon as they arrive; Hsin stayed to the very end of the evening, when the night was so dark that you rationally have to be afraid. The intense look of her crimson eyes scanned the room for any unpleasant matters, but in the end, she spotted none—and thus, it only asked for her to continue with seizing the golden bird to her and herself only.
From the first look Sui Sui gave her, Hsin knew she planned it; another cunning trap the fox caught herself in.
Rage mixed with a pure fascination as Hsin led her golden bird through the various dances. Her clawed hands hugged Sui Sui's hips as if they were created for that very act. Her tail swayed with the rhythm, or perhaps was it from excitement? Only Hsin would know, and she was more than ready to take her secrets to the grave.
Sui Sui smiled faintly, alcohol made her not loose, but more malleable, for Hsin's hand to find her shapes, and create something beautiful out of her. Every second until the very end of the banquet did Hsin wonder if this was a plan as well, or just a fortunate outcome for her golden prey-bird.

Hsin knew one thing for certain when it came to Sui Sui; the fox wanted to devour her, eat her alive and keep her at the same time.
The outcome of those first two options would not be pleasant for the golden bird—so, the fox decided that this night is made for metaphorical takeovers. To be absolutely fair and honest, she actually felt as if she was devouring her— although it was not the sharp fangs the fox sank into the cunning beauty.
Rather, it was her silver tongue.
The same tongue, that managed to win many battles for her, that people very so distrustful of, was licking on the velvet silk skin of the beautiful golden bird—and she put her whole heart into the act. It was an act of restoring her upper hand over Sui Sui who's only task at the moment was to let Hsin devour her.
The fox was very positive that the golden bird did not mind at all—the black end of her snow-white ears perked every time those pretty lips did not managed to cage a long, low, oh so delicious moan. The silky skin of her legs, those that were admired so scandalously so on the parquet, was held tight by the Hsin, who worked her skilled tongue between them to drag every single one of those noises from Sui Sui.
Lust hang in the air around them, heavy and musky and addictive. Something carnal within Hsin sang as loud as possible to claim her, to eat her, to show her, and she was happy to oblige.
The soft fur of her one remaining tail softly caressed ankles still imprisoned in high heels. Sui Sui did not need to take them off as she was pushed into the middle of a tremendous dinning table the banquet's guests were served from just a few hours earlier. Hsin ate a lot of delicious food this evening, but still, she claimed Sui Sui's radiant body as the most unforgettable delicacy of the night.
“Tell me, my golden bird,“ Hsin purred in between two licks; she felt Sui Sui twitch as a warm breath pressed into her most vulnerable parts, “was this what you anticipated when you joined my banquet tonight?”
Although Sui Sui was lost in the pleasure, but she was also too proud to let that question without an answer; doing so would be a show of vulnerability. “Not… not exactly,” she managed to whisper shakily.
Hsin smiled to herself before letting one of those pretty legs go. Sui Sui whimpered as one clawed finger gently brushed against the same sensitive bud of nerves that she was bullying with her tongue just seconds ago, but she began protesting even more when the Sentinel rose from between her legs in the next moment.
The fox was entertained by this sight of her; she remember the composed beauty, the sharp contrast with what was served before her now. “Oh my, my, a little patience, my little bird.” She licked her lips, wet from everything Sui Sui had to offer to this point. “Do not worry, I am not done with you just yet.”
Snap of a finger was enough to make the scenery around them change. Around them rose tall cherry trees in full bloom. The fox locked them up in her domain, the Fogveil Pagoda left for her personnel to tidy up.
Possessiveness would eat her alive if someone would walk in on them; the golden beauty's trembling under her tongue was only hers to enjoy.
Sui Sui looked around as she felt soft in places where the hard wood was supposed to press into her back. A little island in the middle of pretty cherry garden was lined with pillows and blankets. There was a singing of birds heard in the distance; Hsin wasn't sure if her golden bird knew that these were chongming birds, so similar to the one she was towering over.
The fox invited herself back between Sui Sui's legs without hesitation, only this time she was about to take in all of the beautiful view in front of her. Her clawed index finger drew lines across golden bird's body, only to be met with shivering and subdued moans.
Hsin's face wore a mischievous smile as she tore through the fabric with ease. Not taking Sui Sui's protests in account, the Sentinel let her eyes loose on the sight of her. Her claw made sure any fastening on her golden bird's robe was destroyed, which made the fabric act like a spilled water; it spilled from her body to the floor without any struggles, leaving no room for Hsin's imagination. From how her robe moved earlier, it was little to no surprise to Hsin that she had nothing restraining her breasts on, but it was peculiar to acknowledge that Sui Sui was now fully bare.
If there were any thoughts of curiosity from the fox about what kind of underwear will she find under Sui Sui's robes, the situation she was in erased it all, replacing it all with hunger.
“My, my, someone was eager to end up like this, it seems~” Hsin purred again, while her hands moved up son her little bird's body, until she found what she was searching for. Sui Sui yelped and shivered, when the Sentinel pinched her pretty pink nipple between her fingers, the subtle scratching right above it making it even more sensitive matter. “I wonder where are you clever words now, my little chongming bird~”
Whatever was the reply on Sui Sui's lips, it was stolen by a passionate, hungry kiss from the fox.
Hsin found out that kissing her little bird was just like she would have thought—Sui Sui was sweet like honey, soft and plumy lips parting when the fox nibbled on them with her canines. The longer she was thinking about it, the more it was obvious—her cunning little prey-bird wanted to be caressed, wanted to be pampered, wanted to be kissed into oblivion. She did not just let Hsin have her fun, she caved in just as fast as the fox did.
That made her kiss her even deeper, with a slight anger that she was not able to do that earlier. Hsin wanted to bite into that pretty vulnerable neck, dig into, slip under Sui Sui's skin, make a nest where her golden heart was beating.
It wasn't possible without her killing her sweet little bird, and Hsin caught herself realizing that she enjoyed her being alive.
Her hand was prepared to go lover, but Sui Sui stopped her by suddenly grabbing her hand. Hsin look at her without understanding the reason of her doing—her little bird didn't hesitate to let her know in the next second. “I feel like… that this… you should undress as well, don't you find it fair?”
The Sentinel could not help herself but to smirk viciously at those words. “You want me to play fair right now?”
Sui Sui's eyes glinted, but she nodded. “I insist on this.” Then she tilted that pretty head of her to the side and added a bit quieter: “Please?”
The second that plead left her lips, Hsin knew that she would have sold the world just to hear that word again.
She nodded, pupils in the red eyes dilated, as she snapped her fingers again—she could not bother with doing it herself, because that would mean distancing herself from her little bird. As soon as the clothing in the way disappeared, she herself let slip a silent moan from how good and soft it felt to press her body into Sui Sui's. There was a softness you would not find in any man; a considerable reason why Hsin tended to have women as lovers over men. The only hard thing between them was small, cold gem in Sui Sui's pierced belly button—and Hsin was glad it was that way.
Hsin went back to the important matter, her lips attacked her little bird with an eager force. From under her, only half-suffocated moans could he heard.
This time, Sui Sui didn't stop her hand wandering lower. The Sentinel made an advantage of that, and her clawed hand once again brushed against the already swollen clitoris. The golden bird yelped as Hsin massaged it, slow and lightly, and it seemed like she was actually going to cry when the fox removed the fingers right before was her lover send over the edge.
“But… why…?” she argued weakly, stopped by another teasing touch in those sensitive place. “You… you are cruel, Hsin.”
“And you are greedy, my sweet little bird,” Hsin reminded her with a taunting smile on her lips. “Don't you remember? This is certainly not the first time I remind you of such things.” And oh, goodness, of course Sui Sui had to remember.
Clawed fingers traveled lower, careful to not hurt the fragile bird. Hsin felt Sui Sui tighten around just tips of her claws; she was craving way more that what was already given to her, and Hsin will deliver every single request her little bird will think of.
The second hand ghosted around Sui Sui, grabbing her behind the small of her back, making her spine to bend as the fox pleased—and at the same second, the pushed those waiting fingers deep into her lover's core. The sound that left Sui Sui's lips will be forever reminder to Hsin of how to make someone feel good.
Because that was all she cared about—about devouring her little bird's desire, about feeding on her pleasure.
“Go on, scream for me, beg for me, my little chongming bird. Be greedy for me—for I am going to give you the world.”
