Why DID Jecka distance herself after Nicole and Ari's breakup? She wasn't affected, and she didn't actually give two shits about that whiney bitch.
But standing here, in this party at Kelly's house, mere feet from a brunette she once called her best friend, she has to acknowledge the truth, the aching, the longing that alcohol might coax out of her.

"Dude, quit acting like you give a shit about them."
"Okay, sorry, damn." Jecka scowled and crossed her arms. "I care about you. Not them." She hated the words when they came out.
More silence. Awesome. Just what she fucking needed...
"I know," Nicole sighed. "But you were pretty quick to bail on me, weren't ya?"
"I didn't- fuck, Nicole! I didn't--" Jecka calmed herself slightly, words coming out as a hiss: "I didn't bail. Plus, you didn't even call me on my birthday."
