Midnight light shone through the sheer curtains of paradise manors bedroom where Xie Lian lay restlessly tossing and turning and then occasionally groaning.
“Ugh nnnm”
Xie lian tossed forcefully onto his back with a deep groan. This new position did not help either, in truth it infuriated and irritated him even more!
Lately he had been quite easily angered, Xie Lian wasn’t sure what was wrong with him and he really didn’t like feeling like this all the time. At first he had thought perhaps he had been hungry and so he cooked and ate some soup - this did not help.
Secondly he thought maybe he had too much energy and that the excess was just driving him silly, and so he tried sword fighting with Hua Cheng - which did usually keep his mood up - but alas to his dismay it made him feel even more irritated!!
And so finally he had begun to think ‘Oh maybe i just need more sleep!’
Oh how wrong he was, because now he was not only annoyed but also hot and sweaty from the heavy blankets and constant moving!
“End me” Xie Lian mumbled tiredly to the empty room.
Eventually Xie Lian did sit up and shake off the blankets considering taking a cooling bath, but the thought of getting up, going over to the bath and getting in it somehow also pissed off Xie Lian.
Truly this was impossible, so he relented to sulking in the corner.

Four hours later, Hua Cheng had finally returned home looking forward to seeing his beloved, lately he had sensed some tension in him so he had bought some soothing salts from a reputable stall.
When Hua Cheng got to the bedroom he knocked gingerly and called “Gege, im back!” and entered.
He had expected Xie Lian to be busying himself with a book or be asleep but to his slight amusement he caught Xie Lian sitting in the corner of the room sulking and looking generally annoyed to his limit.
Hua Cheng smiled softly “Gege? What are you doing down there”
Xie Lian did not grace him with an answer and instead rather childishly threw a pillow at Hua Chengs ‘way too happy’ face.
Hua Cheng caught the pillow effortlessly and teased “has something happened to upset gege? Or did you just miss me too much hm?”
Again Xie Lian turned away.

…
“Ah” Hua Cheng sighed, it looked like Xie Lian was well and truly upset. Slowly he moved forward until he could sit next to him.
“Gege this San Lang is worried, are you okay?”
Xie Lian did apparently not like being asked this, another thing irritating him for the millionth time, he of course however didn’t actually want to be rude to his husband so wisely chose to keep his mouth and eyes shut.
He felt bad about it, but what was he to do? He really didn’t feel well and he knew even if he was a bit rude to Hua Cheng he would just brush it under the rug…
Still…
Hua Cheng waited a moment more for Xie Lians’ response, but when he was met with being completely ignored, he decided to change tactics.
Slowly he brought a hand to Xie Lian's cheek and leaned in to give a soft kiss, then he moved his other hand to massage his side up and–
Huh
Xie lian winced a bit and tried to hide it but Hua Cheng had already caught it.
“Gege…let this husband see your side hm?” He asked quietly, suspecting something.
Xie Lian who was already annoyed and felt he could not possibly get more annoyed allowed Hua Cheng to help remove his inner and outer robe.
When Xie Lian was finally half-dressed topless he slumped back down and gave Hua Cheng a pointed look saying ‘Ok now what?’
However it was clear that Hua Chengs attention was solely, at the moment, dedicated to a rather large raised red spot on Xie Lian’s side where he was rubbing a moment again.
“Gege…” Hua Cheng sighed “How long has this been here?” he said tiredly but not unkind.
Xie Lian drifted his attention towards the raised spot and sheepishly shook his head….he ah..didn’t notice that was there aha….
Thinking on it Xie Lian had noticed it a little bit, this must have been the cause of all of his recent irritation, now that his head was a bit clearer Xie Lian smiled.
“Oh this is great!”
Hua Cheng did not look impressed. “Gege, please”
“Ah- San Lang it's just…i’ve been somewhat really annoyed lately, this must be the cause of it. My thanks” he smiled
Hua Cheng stayed silent for a moment before shaking his head with a sad smile “Gege i love you but please, when you feel drastically different then usual, i beg of you, mention something…please”
Xie lian quirked a little bit and looked down “Right, i’ll remember aha…”

…
“Could….could San Lang get it out of me now please”
Cooling down a bit Hua Cheng smiled again, “Of course” and gently pinched the skin around the red until a tiny thorn was fully produced, then with a snap he crushed it out of existence.
Finally Xie Lian sighed a breath of relief and no longer felt as irritated.
