Summary
William was the kind of English teacher students either admired or feared. He carried himself with quiet authority, always impeccably dressed in dark slacks, crisp button-downs, and reading glasses that he would slide down the bridge of his nose whenever he lectured about literature with too much passion to hide. To most students, he was intimidatingly intelligent. To others, he was simply strict.
To Est, he was an obsession.
William's marriage was dying.
Everyone assumed he lived a stable, respectable life: loving wife, beautiful home, children he adored, steady career. From the outside, he looked like a man who had everything under control. But appearances lied.
His marriage had been loveless for years, reduced to cold silences, exhausted arguments, and the mechanical routine of two people who no longer recognized each other.
