Chapter Text
The weather was nice today, the first years, Grim, and I all went to the beach to hang out and chill. The water was surprisingly warm this time of year, but still cool enough for it to be enjoyable. We had set up a spot away from people who were also enjoying their Spring Break. It reminded me of when I would watch the Music channel on tv and it would have people dancing on the beach for Spring Break Live bands. Thankfully none of the guys or I wanted to perform for anyone, not after the whole thing with Vil and his boot camp for dancing and singing.
While Ace, Deuce, Jack, Grim, Sebek, and Epel played with the beach ball, Ortho and I looked at the tide pools to see all the small marine creatures that lived in them. I told Ortho all I knew about them, I figured he knew more than me being connected to the internet and all, but it felt good to talk about my special interest in marine life. It made me want to visit the Coral Sea again this time as a tourist instead of someone on a mission, maybe I’ll get to during the summer since I’ll probably be allowed to leave the island with Grim for a short time before preparing for fall classes. Doubt anyone will get into our dorm, but I figure we’ll be invited to watch the new first years be selected for their dorms. I’ll have to ask Azul if I could join him when he visits his home in the Coral Sea or maybe even Jade and Floyd.
As the day went on all of us decided to make a fire and a make shift beach grill to cook the stuff we brought for lunch. The boys have been getting better about learning to cook, so we all worked as a team to make lunch. The cheese burgers were juicy and the hot dogs got a bit crispy from Grim’s flames, all in all it was a great meal shared by my friends and I. We ended up relaxing on the beach, Deuce and I went clam and crab hunting, and Grim was learning how to swim from Jack. All the while Ace and Epel got into an argument of who was the strongest by doing a best two outta three arm wrestling match. Ortho refereed and Sebek waited his turn to face the two of them so he could put them in their place or so he hoped.
When it got closer to being night time, we all hurried back to Ramshackle with our spoils of war. They had all gotten permission from their dorm leaders to stay the night thankfully. I ended up teaching them all how to cook the crabs and clams, and we feasted like kings. Ace and Deuce had turned on the tv that I got second hand at Sam’s to play video games from the system Ortho brought from his brothers. We all set up the lounge as the hang out sleeping area by pushing all the couches closer together making a sectioned off area for all of us to cuddle and enjoy each other’s company. It got so late I don’t even remember when I fell asleep, when I woke up in the middle of the night I saw everyone passed out in their sleeping bags and blankets. Grim was nestled against my chest wrapped up in his own blanket snoring away. I smiled deciding to just go back to sleep and look forward to the chaos tomorrow.
