Contrary to popular belief, it is possible for someone to experience loneliness while surrounded by others. Isolation will typically bring to mind images of an empty room or a remote location. However, a house full of people can feel twice as lonely as an empty one.
Or: Tim has always been a ghost in the lives of others. He’s tired.

read, long kinda, comfort, v interesting take on the isolation , like ofc ik there’s many fics w that premise but this one i feel is especially well executed, like i can viscerally feel the way tim is overlooked as if there’s a glamor over him that contains an aversion to tim where when u try to look at him ur brain skips over him like a piece of furniture until u look away. i think part of it is the fact it sounds like dick wasn’t even remotely a sibling unlike how he’s usually portrayed as loving w the ultimate betrayal. it does though mean , n this goes for all the characters that had lines , that their urgency seemed to come out of nowhere , so i wish we got maybe a pov from the batfam behind the scenes on their feelings/relationships/lack thereof over the years in order to gain a better understanding of why now. like it might be just a guilt thing over how they’ve treated him but lowkey they didn’t dig into the roots of the problem , they j kinda picked a couple of the fresh leaves. they also seem like the type to wallow in guilt/self pity more than actually reflect on their actions n behavior due to having a blind spot when it comes to tim’s feelings so again , i’m super curious on that switch up. jason i can understand because there’s a lot of factors such as seeing tim as another robin dying in a warehouse , apparently having felt remorse for his actions for a while even though he didn’t say anything , not having lived in the manor at the same time (?) which creates more distance since out of sight out of mind , etc. as a side note cass was only in the background w steph but it’s lowkey wild to me that she missed/ignored the emptiness n longing seeping from tim’s body so i’m kinda curious abt her too, wish there was more , like i wish we got damian’s reaction in all his “good riddance” glory n then that bruce n dick actually went through the past reports to get a better idea of what tim’s been through on his own to find the mask footage of damian cutting his line alongside the likely hundreds of hours of abuse he puts tim through 😭
