Stuck in place, Marazhai’s carefully crafted and perfected mask shattered - not just for a moment, but entirely. A rarity to happen, but surely he was mistaken, wasn’t he? There could have been no way for the Rogue Trader to have said this; to have meant what she said. Caught up in a tangle of emotions flaring bright and intense, he felt nearly unable to discern her true feelings.
“You bore me, Marazhai,” Celeste von Valancius said in a tone that came close to bringing justice and doom down at the same time.
