Fuck. He should not have come in here. Maybe on the other side of this he could blame Tim, for making him hit his head.
Yeah, the other side.
The warm, thin streaks of red that poured over his hands told him he wouldn't see the other side this time.
Jay didn't feel the dull ache that sprawled out across the back of his head when it hit the wall behind him. Instead, he just stared at anything that kept him present, cursing the air. The static of that thing's presence still numbed most of his body.
It didn't feel quite like pain, it felt like embarrassment. Like he had forgotten his line in the school play. Not like his best friend- someone he thought was his best friend, had shot him. His only reminder of humanity being the camera he insisted on showing the wound before he dared to look.
He fucking shot him! Why isn't he more angry about this.
Be angry, be awake. What was he even here for?
Tim
He needs to warn Tim. His legs refused to obey his commands, so he tried to throw himself forward. For the first time since it happened, one hand left his wound to pull himself across the floor. Nothing worked, he was stuck. Everything ached and his head swam. His voice sounded far away as he called out.
Wait- he wasn't speaking. Was that Tim? It must be, he can hear it.
"You think I'm stupid? I heard the shot-" He was close by, if he just inched forward to the door...
"- who did you hit? What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Did he? The ground felt warm under him. He shivered as he thought of moving from that small piece of comfort.
"Fuck.. Fuck, is that- Jay? Jay!?" His eyes peeled open. Did he fall asleep? He hadn't been getting good sleep before this, now he feels worse. He felt himself grumble and sit back up to look.
It felt so bad for a moment, like the world was ending. What was the problem? Maybe, whatever it was, is what has Tim so upset.
Oh, yeah, Tim's here...
He sat in the corner now, the direction of the light in the window making him hard to see. The sickly feeling, like death, creeping up finally into his throat. He had done something wrong.
"No... What did you do? Why didn't you just stay home?" What did he do? He was just trying to sleep. Wasn't he? Just trying to sleep? His arm reaches up to get his attention, shaking his head slowly. It doesn't even make it halfway before it gives out, falling over his face with a flinch and a groan. Tim said something about not falling asleep, maybe? Staying with him? That's what you say when...
He was never going to hear the end of this, was he?
