As long as Hop could remember, he had always been in his brother’s shadow. His amazing, talented, powerful shadow. Not that he minded. His brother was amazing, he deserved all of the attention and love he got, especially from his family.
Hop loves him too, more than anybody else in the world. Heck his brother is his world! His hero, his protector... Out of everyone he’s always been there for him. Even if he didn’t do anything to deserve it yet, but he would. Just like how Leon earned his way to the top of Galar. That was why Hop had to be the very best, he had to become Champion
If he didn’t then Hop would just be left behind. His brother would go to new trainers who showed potential and they would be the one’s he’d rather be around. They would be worthy of him, they deserved him more as any sort of relative than Hop ever could…
Hop wouldn't even be a thought, he’d be nothing to him, he’d fade away…
Hop always knew that was a possibility he just never thought it could happen quite so literally to him
(AKA: Hop and Gloria’s trip to rescue the little Woloo takes a different turn and he becomes cursed into fading away... literally)
