Maomao would say she doesn’t mind— Jinshi knows that. It’s just that he also knows that she does mind, and that the pain of being away from each other for that long would kill them both. A trip that included travel time to and back, plus the time it would take for diplomacy to occur, would amount to nearly two thirds of the year. That was far too long of a time for Jinshi to leave Maomao.
