Chapter Text
Leona jolts awake, despite the younger one's effort to not make noise. "Hey, uh.. Leona, i brought some ham i thought you'd like…. You do know finals are next week.. right? What if you fail again??", it's just Ruggie, well, who else would it be? Who else would want to come visit him, especially at this time.
He grunts softly, not even attempting to turn over or grab the tray, honestly he was about to pass out in the warmth of his covers. Ruggie sighs, "Dude," he stands there as if he was going to finish his sentence but instead leaves the tray on Leona's nightstand. "Atleast go to your last period?" Ruggie huffs softly before walking out of the beast-man's room.
Leona stares out into his closed blinds, deep in thought. Obviously he's not going to do well this year, he hasn't went to class for the total of three days this week. When he thinks about putting in the effort, its like his whole body goes limp, it's not Leona's fault that he can't get up now is it? Plus, even if he had went to his tests, he highly doubts he wouldn't fall asleep in an instant. He's been more tired, more irritable, more whatever. He honestly he couldn't care, at the end of the day, he'll still be nothing more than an unwanted second son, destined to wonder when he will get a chance at life, a chance at having his people look up to him and be proud to call him a prince, a king, instead of hateful, fearful, who even knows, stares.
What is a child to do when no-one believes in him because of something so insignificant, when the second he walks into his own home, the people that are to protect him and his kin lower their voices to those of gossip and rumor. What is he to do? Even with his dorm, even with hearing praise straight from their mouths, he cant believe it, cant accept them. Not when it won't matter either way. His brother always tries to keep peace, or whatever resemblance of such that they can have. "You are still the prince, Leona! You mustn't bring yourself down." Or with that fur-brat, Cheka, "Unca, I'll be just like you when I'm bigger!"
And with the Overblot, how could he nearly forget? What is he to say when Falena and his wife poke and prod at him, "Leona, how could this happen? Why?" Sevens, it just gets muddier and muddier each time he thinks about having to go home on winter break. Seeing that hidden disgust. He can't stand it, no way in hell is he going home this holiday.
He gradually sits up, to not disturb the fresh wounds on his hip. Normally, he'd do it on his arm because it was easier but he'll have to wait till after the holidays. Leona looks at the tray that sits on his nightstand, a grilled cheese and ham sandwich with a bag of BBQ chips. It all looks fairly good but he's not in the mood, feels like he'll throw up just by thinking about eating it.
So now he's up, but he doesn't feel like going to class, there's no club work today. What is there to do? Leona stands up and lazily drags himself to his 3-day old laundry basket and begins to dig for his uniform. Although he doesn't plan on going to class, there's nothing wrong with a small walk to the botanical garden. Perhaps get some Z's in while he's there.
