Work Text:

Had a very rough idea that led up to this, which goes something like this:
When he's only a young boy, not even yet a squire, Obi-Wan stumbles across a secret - deep in a hidden cavern under the castle, an Old God of the Oak is held captive. Chained to the floor in the middle of an intricate magical array, forever kneeling, the Old Oak has no kind words for the young boy, but Obi-Wan is determined to set him free.
Years go by. Obi-Wan, along with all his regular training and studies, also dips into learning magic - the hows and whys of binding and freeing. Visiting the Oak God from time to time, he finds the bound spirit not quite so angry, and they become something like acquaintances, then almost friends.
Finally, the eve before his knighting, Obi-Wan goes down to the cavern and, using the magical knife he has forged with his own hands, breaks the chains upon the Oak God.
Forever after, he was known as the Oak Knight, and had the favour of the Old God of the Oak.
