Summary
In the meantime, they’d have their familiar dance; trips to museums and galleries, promenades through the park, evenings in the shop where the world went golden and giddy at the edges.
Six thousand years, he’d gone without Crowley kissing him. He’d go another six if it meant giving Crowley the world instead.

“‘Excited,’ he says. Unbelievable,” said Crowley. “As if you haven’t been the center of my— my everything since the very beginning. I get a thrill just thinking about you. Hearing your name. The words ‘panna cotta’ send me into a tizzy, picturing you savoring it. Picturing you, full stop.”
Aziraphale’s heart thudded in his chest, painfully full. “Oh, Crowley.”
“Don’t ‘oh, Crowley’, me. You know what you do to me. You’ve known. You know how I—” He made a choked-off sound and glanced down at their joined hands. “How I.”
“And do you know?” Aziraphale said, as gently as he could. “How I?”
Crowley bent his head, pressing his warm lips to Aziraphale’s hands. “I hoped,” he murmured. “I’ve always hoped. There were so many moments, stars in the sky. Too many to count.”
Aziraphale pushed his fingers through Crowley’s hair. “Rome, after the crucifixion.”
“Sitting across the table from you at La Mère Catherine,” Crowley said. “You had honey with your crepes.”
“1941, driving back to the shop. I thought I might burst with wanting to say it.”
“An hour ago, when you were rattling on about Cardenio.” Crowley raised his head, gazing up at Aziraphale with open adoration. “I thought: I love him. Never won’t.”
