The feeling of dying was strange. First it was painful from the demo bats ripping into him. Then it was cold, probably from all the blood draining out of him. He regrets bleeding on Henderson, that shit never wants to wash out completely. Eddie remembers trying to wash the blood out his first Hellfire shirt after some jock punching him.
The screaming becomes distance as his vision goes dark.
He didn't run, he stayed and fought. For once he wasn't a coward.
It's getting harder and harder to breath.
Henderson is alive, he kept the demo bats away from everyone.
As the darkness engulfed him he thought, for you Chrissy...
In the distance he heard a scream. His body jolted as adrenaline flooded his system. The sky wasn't red but sickly green. Scrambling to his feet the metalhead twisted around, junk was stacked in piles and near by is a log cabin.
Thumping steps faintly come from inside the cabin. A figure vaults out a window, running in his direction. They looked behind them before making eye contact with Eddie.
Nancy Wheeler freezes as she takes in the man before her. The shock was to be expected as she recognized who she was looking at. Her face quickly shifted, happiness, then sadness, finally settling into despair.
That's when Eddie finally noticed she was gripping her side. He reached towards her wound. Nancy knocked his hand away and silently beckoned him to follow her. She limps quickly further into the piles of junk.
He tries to call after her but only manages a grunt. She doesn't stop, he runs after her. When he catches up to her the scene before him twists his stomach. A body hangs limpy from some sort of structure, a large hook piercing their shoulder, blood slowly seeping from the wound. He watched as Nancy reached up to remove the body from the hook. As feet hits the ground he hears the figure grunt.
It wasn't a body, it was some sorry asshole hanging there. Their head lifts up and he sees it none other than Steve Harrington. Stunned, he watches as Nancy pulled out some gauze and quickly wraps over the hook wound. Steve begins to reach back but she steps away and points towards Eddie. The look of exhausted relief slowly slips when he meets Steve's eyes.
Pity and sadness mix on the jock's face. He walks over his hand reaching out for him. As he gets closer Steve's face quickly twists into fear and anger, rushing towards him. They were friends or at least comrades, it hurt to think after everything Steve still hating the freak.
Eddie took a step back. A sharp metal snap echoes through the air.
Pain races through his body. His throat is unable to contain the anguish as Eddie's scream echoed around them. Looking down there's a fucking bear trap clamped onto his leg. Steve raised his hand and light streams past him. Nancy is suddenly in front of him prying the trap open.
From behind he hears a deep throat grunt and Steve running away, Nancy hot on his heels. Eddie looks behind him to see a large hulkng figure stalking towards him. This creature towered over the metal head. Open cuts and metal protrusions litter it's arms and a terrifying white mask with soulless eyes scan him. The fear is palpable.
Chrissy's body snapping in the air, Jason hunting him down, demo bats swarming him was nothing compared to what this thing was piercing into his very soul.
He said he wouldn't run anymore. That he would fight for the people he cares about. The figure gets closer and he knows he can do one thing in the face of such terror.
Run.
