Chapter Text
We start with everyone remaining (Lee, Kenny, Omid, Christa, and Ben) on the railings.
Some context is needed for those who have and haven't played the game.
One, Lee never lets go of Ben. He'd never do that, that's sort of out of character for him in my opinion. So yeah, Ben stays alive no matter what.
Another thing, Lee keeps his arm. He knows there's no way-
Oh right- spoilers I guess.
Of surviving the bite on his arm, so yeah. That's pretty much it. Welcome to the AU, bitch.
(Sorry that was really mean I was trying to be edgy :( I'm really sorry)
"Looks like we can stay off the streets all the way to River Street if we're careful enough."
-Kenny
"Let's go."
-Christa
"Go ahead."
-Ben
Lee hops on the railings and manages to get on the roof of the next building.
Omid goes next, then Christa and then Kenny, with the railing's supports slowly getting broken off as the people continue to jump.
Whenever it's Ben's turn, he feels the railings slowly giving out as it start to shake.
"SHIT, BEN!"
-Lee
"JUMP!"
-Kenny
Ben, in a panicked state, does manage to jump, but narrowly misses the roof.
"WAHHHHHHH~!"
-Ben
Before Ben can fall however, Kenny grabs onto Ben's arm.
"NRGHHH~! Dammit!"
-Kenny
"OH GOD! KENNY! PLEASE! DON'T LET GO!"
-Ben
Kenny looks at Ben directly in the eyes, seeing the person who, while accidentally, inadvertently got multiple people and his entire family killed.
He can end this right here. For the most part, no one would truly blame him.
But then, he thinks back to what Ben told him, about his own family. Finally seeing that at heart, Ben is a kid. A sorry, lengthy, fuck-up, shitbird- but still a kid.
Kenny sighs before pulling Ben up.
"..you saved me."
-Ben
Kenny gets up, looks at Ben and starts to walk forward.
Lee goes over to help Ben up.
"I.. I can't believe it.. after everything I did to him."
-Ben
"Kenny's a good man. He's got some issues but, he's been there for me when I need him."
-Lee
(you sure about that?)
"Heck, I'd be surprised if he DIDN'T have issues after all the stuff that's happened to him."
-Omid
"You guys coming?"
-Kenny
"Yeah! We're coming."
-Christa
The four look down in the alleyway and see the horde of walkers from the original.
One by one, they start to walk towards Kenny's direction, with Ben taking an extra long gander at the walkers before walking away.
"It's good to be moving."
-Kenny
"Are you ready for whatever's coming?"
-Lee
"I got a lot of pain inside me, Lee. I'd like to get even a little bit of it out. You got that walkie-talkie?"
-Kenny
"Yeah. Of course I do."
-Lee
"You might wanna give him a call and tell him we're coming for him."
-Kenny
"Yeah, right."
-Lee
We then see a pseudo bridge that leads across the horde to the next building.
"Careful crossing. We wouldn't want what almost happened to Ben again."
-Kenny
Christa and Omid go first, for some reason. That's a lot of trust in a wrinky dink ass bridge while you're pregnant but- hey. I didn't make it to Season 2, they did.
Ben goes next, trying his best not to look down.
"Oh man..! Oh man..!"
-Ben
"Would you shut up?!"
-Kenny
"Sorry!"
-Ben
Next is Lee, who does look down, because he's really genuinely like that.
"River Street's up ahead."
-Omid
Just then, Omid and Lee walk over to a hole in the ground leading to a mall
"Nope. Mall of darkness full of walkers? Fuck that."
-Omid
"That's terrifying.."
-Ben
"Let's get out of here now!"
-Lee
"Yep! That!"
-Omid
Kenny crosses the bridge last, approaching the rest of the group.
"Let's get going you bunch of lollygaggers-"
-Kenny
Kenny tries to pat Lee in the back but makes the walkie-talkie fall out of Lee's pocket.
"Oh fuck!"
-Kenny
Christa sighs.
"Well.."
-Christa
"I'm so sorry.."
-Kenny
"We don't need it. We got a beat on this guy."
-Lee
"Yeah. I agree."
-Kenny
"And when we don't? And when we don't know where to begin to look? Any clue, even the smallest one is invaluable. We need that thing!"
-Christa

"Shit, I'm sorry! Let's think this through."
-Kenny
"I just did."
-Ben
Ben looks at Kenny one more time before jumping down the hole.
"BEN!"
-Lee
"Jesus Christ!"
-Omid
Ben grabs the walkie talkie and shows it to the group.
"Good job, Ben."
-Christa
"Yeah, way to go."
-Omid
"Not bad."
-Kenny
"C'mon now, let's get you up here."
-Lee
Lee holds out his arm for Ben when snarling can be heard approaching Ben.
"...shit."
-Ben
Ben tries to jump up and grab Lee's hand.
"Dammit! It's too high up!"
-Christa
"Don't you worry man, we'll get you out!"
-Omid
Ben looks around, seeing some walkers come out from the darkness.
"HELP! HELP!"
-Ben
Ben takes out his gun and starts to shoot some that are approaching him.
"What do we do?!"
-Christa
Lee looks to Kenny, who's looking at Ben.
"...me and my fuckin' mouth."
-Kenny
Kenny then jumps down into the hole with Ben.
"KEN!"
-Lee
Kenny looks at Lee and Ben before jumping down.
"OH GOD! KENNY--!"
-Ben
"What are you doing?!"
-Lee
"Get him, Ken!"
-Omid
Kenny helps Ben up, and with the combined help of the rest of the people, they get Ben back on the roof.
"Said all that shit.. and not do something now! Come on! Reach!"
-Kenny
"I've got you!"
-Omid
"Save her! Go! Go! You fucking hear me?!"
-Kenny
Kenny sees something in the distance and pulls out his gun.
Walkers start approaching Kenny.
"Get Kenny!"
-Lee
Ben runs over to the hole and sees the walkers.
"You've gotta run man! We'll find a way to get you!"
-Lee
"KENNY! KENNY~!"
-Ben
The walkers push forward as we hear some sounds of gurgling, implying that Kenny's been taken from the world.
"Where'd he go?!"
-Omid
"...he's.. dead."
-Lee
"Maybe he's not-"
-Christa
SHUT YO BITCH ASS UP.
"He went down there for you.."
-Lee
"I-I know he did... He.."
-Ben
Ben sighs as Lee continues to stare down the hole, hoping, hell- begging, that his friend might've found a way out.
But there's no response, and time resumes where it once stood.
Ben looks on in utter shock.
"...he.. he's dead... He saved me and.. all I did was just.."
-Ben
Lee walks over to Ben and pats him on the shoulder.
"..there was no way to save him without more blood being shed."
-Lee
"Maybe I deserve that.. I owed him my life.."
-Ben
"He'd want you to live, Ben. I know it may not seem like it, but Kenny wouldn't kill you."
-Lee
"...you think so?"
-Ben
Lee thinks back to the bell situation, where Kenny was DEFINITELY on that type timing and shakes his head.
"..yeah. I know so."
-Lee
Ben thinks for a moment before getting back up.
"..thank you Lee. For like- everything. I know I haven't been easy to deal with.."
-Ben
"You wanna know what you could do Ben?"
-Lee
"What?"
-Ben
"...live for Clementine."
-Lee
"I.."
-Ben
"She's your friend, isn't she?"
-Lee
"Yeah, my only real friend... wow. My only alive friend is a nine year old girl.."
-Ben
"She's eight."
-Lee
"No, she turned nine a while back. She was telling everyone back at the motor inn, I gave her my rations as a gift. I'm not sure what you were doing, I think you were working on the wall. But yeah.. me, Clem and Duck were celebrating it. It was nice."
-Ben
Lee sighs, regretting always being so busy with other things and never focusing enough on the people he loves.
Christa looks down in pure guilt, taking some of the blame in Kenny's death.
"We should probably get going now."
-Omid
The four remaining survivors all walk towards the next stop, the Maccabe Imports sign.
"The Marsh House Hotel is around the corner of the block."
-Lee
Lee looks down.
"We have to cross here.."
-Lee
"Well, at least it doesn't look like a death trap!"
-Omid
"..to some of us."
-Ben
Christa looks back at Omid with a stern look.
"..who's going first?"
-Omid
"You're the lightest.."
-Christa
"He's got a busted leg, you're walking for two, and Ben.. well.."
-Lee
"I'd just mess it up and get killed.. yeah."
-Ben
"I'm obviously not doing so hot. Decisions doesn't make itself... I'll go first, in case anything happens out there."
-Lee
"You sure?"
-Christa
"Yeah."
-Lee
"Hey, wait.. Lee?"
-Ben
"Yeah?"
-Lee
Ben takes out his gun.
"..I've never been too good with these. Aiming and such... if you need extra bullets or just a weapon..."
-Ben
"Ben, I can't take your gun. You gotta protect yourself."
-Lee
"I'll be fine. What matters is that we get Clementine back."
-Ben
Lee looks a little surprised, not expecting such resolve from Ben.
[TAKE GUN][DON'T TAKE GUN]
Lee tucks Ben's gun in his back pocket and Ben smiles.
Lee starts to cross the sign but soon it breaks apart.
"SHIT!"
-Lee
Lee holds onto the last piece of the sign left.
"Fuck! Lee!"
-Ben
"Are you alright?!"
-Omid
"I'm fine! .. kind of fucked here."
-Lee
"What are you gonna do?!"
-Omid
"..fuck it. I'm going for it!"
-Lee
"Going for it?!"
-Omid
"What does that mean?!"
-Christa
"It means I'm already bitten! I just have to push my way through!"
-Lee
Lee looks down one more time.
"..let's meet outside of town by the train!"
-Lee
"Are you nuts?!"
-Omid
"It's the only way! Do you hear me?!
-Lee
"Yes! By the train! Holy shit!"
-Omid
"We'll be there!"
-Christa
Lee looks up at Ben, who looks completely shaken.
"BEN! If anything happens out there... Protect Clem! Can you promise me that?!"
-Lee
"B-But, I'm a fuck-up--!"
-Ben
"CAN YOU PROMISE ME THAT?!"
-Lee
Ben looks startled before growing a little bit of determination.
"...I.. I promise!"
-Ben
Lee nods his head before making his way down to the ground.
The trio watch on as Lee readies himself for battle and starts slashing walkers.
"Dude's a terminator..!"
-Omid
"C'mon guys! We need to go!"
-Christa
Christa and Omid walk off as Ben looks at Lee, being the last time either will see the other.
"...fuck them up, Lee."
-Ben
"Ben!"
-Christa
Ben quickly runs towards the couple as they run off.
