I absolutely ADORE fics like these, the ones where one person is acting like they hate their lover(technically ex but does it matter if they still love each other?) and said lover instead of going along with the charade decides to chip away at the mask and it becomes a game of who would crack first the stubborn one's mask or the lover's will and persistence. When said mask finally cracks and you see the stubborn one finally give in and be affectionate and loving towards their lover and the lover is finally free from the game they started........man it's euphoric to read
