“I hope you’re worth four hundred dollars…” Jeremy said.
“Four hundred and one– don't forget the Mountain dew.” Michael chimed in.
“If this works… my whole life could change. We should split it– you helped me get it, we should both benifet-”
“I don't think that's how it works. Besides, I like to think that when you're cool you’ll owe me.” Michael laughed.
“Ok, well, here goes… everything.” Jeremy popped the pill in his mouth and bit down. It crunched.
“How does it taste?” Michael asked.
“Minty?” Jeremy replied, while chewing up the pill a little bit more.
“How do you feel?”
“Like….” Jeremy took a breath. “Like I’m in pain."
Michael blinked. “What???”
Jeremy moved the crushed pill around his mouth before washing it down with mountain dew. His mouth stung from the bits of wire and metal that scratched his tongue and cheeks.
“Well, if that's it, I have to meet a guy at Spencer’s gifts.” Michael said while checking his watch. “This guy is hooking me up with a case of crystal pepsi! Its like regular pepsi, just clear!”
“Wasn't that discontinued in the 90’s?”
“Thats what makes it so awesome!”
“Y’know what, I’ll come with. This whole Squip thing was a bust after all.”
Jeremy then went to Spencer's Gifts with Michael to buy some Crystal Pepsi, and they drank it on the way home. Jeremy’s Squip never activated because it was crushed between his molars and Jeremy stayed a loser for the rest of his high school career.
