Chapter Text
Strong winds blew the flame towards Wooyoung’s thumb where she held down the striker of her lighter. She quickly angled her body to counter the wind, using her other hand as a cage to block stray gusts from accessing the flame. Once her cigarette was lit she took two drags in succession, huffing the smoke out through her nose.
The cigarette goes too quickly for her liking and Wooyoung is just about to light up another when the most beautiful woman in the world catches her eye.
A few doors down there's a woman with long black pin straight hair fishing around in her purse for something. There’s cute pins holding hair from the sides of her face and framing her bangs perfectly. She’s slumped over her bag on the steps to the building Wooyoung knows is an Airbnb. Whatever is lost seems to be a big deal with the urgency this woman rifles through her items.
With a sharper look at her, Wooyoung sees a cigarette pressed between plush lips and suddenly understands exactly what is happening.
There is nothing worse in life than having a shitty day and thinking you’ll be able to take the edge off with a smoke only to find out you left your lighter at home. And if Wooyoung’s assumptions are correct, this woman is far from home. She must have lost her lighter, and it would be a crime to leave a beautiful woman in distress.
Suddenly Wooyoung’s mind is on autopilot as her feet start to carry her towards the other woman. Her intentions aren’t malicious, yes the woman is beautiful even from far away, and sure, Wooyoung would love to kiss her silly just based on her outfit alone, but really she just wants to help a stranger.
Wooyoung stops a few steps away, completely stunned. She’s gorgeous. From head to toe, everything about her screams for Wooyoung to fall to her knees and worship the ground she walks on.
✩
“Fuck,” San huffs, rummaging through her purse.
For some reason she thought a bigger purse ment less clutter, but in all actuality it just meant she had more room for more shit. Instead of only having one pen she has five, all in different colors, and of course if she has that many pens she has to have a small notepad and a journal too.
She grabs all of her lip sticks, liners, and glosses, holding them precariously in her hand as she continues to fish around in her seemingly ever expanding purse for the only lighter she owns.
San isn’t one to ever really just own one of something. She doesn’t just have one journal, she has eight and all of them have assigned purposes. If there is a cute plushie at the store, she can’t leave with just one.
The only exception to this rule is her lucky purple lighter.
Yeosang bought it for her when she turned eighteen, and seven years later it still works as good as the day she received it. She never saw any reason to buy another if the lucky purple one worked so well.
Expect, San doesn’t feel like it’s all that lucky right now.
About an hour ago, she landed in Japan on her first solo trip outside of South Korea. It was a spur of the moment decision made in less than twenty four hours as a way to test herself. She wanted to see if her self proclaimed complete independence would follow her into an uncomfortable and unfamiliar situation. So, in a rush, San had booked her flight, packed her bag and headed to the airport shortly after.
When the plane landed in Japan she used every brain cell to recall vocab and sentence structure from her Japanese classes in highschool. Familiar words brushed past her ears, giving her a boost of confidence.
However, knowing the language was only half of the battle and everything that could have gone wrong did.
Her scheduled train was delayed, the taxi got her address wrong, and San had even broken a nail. And to top it all off she was going to have to wait outside of her building because the Airbnb host ran into family troubles and would be a bit delayed.
With nowhere else to go, San plopped down on the concrete stair steps at the entrance.
Now, she finds herself shit out of luck with one cigarette left in her pack and no lucky purple lighter in sight.
San plucks the cigarette from its pack and rests it between her lips, shoving the box back in her bag and continuing to ruffle through old receipts. She pushes things around, dumps her lipstick into her lap, spreads her journals on the ground, San does everything but turn her purse inside out and still there is no lucky purple lighter.
In an eruption of frustration, San groans loudly, shoving everything back inside and tossing her purse onto the stairs beside her. Hanging her head, San takes the cigarette from her lips.
“Please universe, I’ll quit soon just give me this one moment of peace and serenity.” She may be prideful, but she’s not against begging.
“Need a light?”
San snaps her head up towards the velvety soft voice. Before her stands a woman so beautiful her mind goes blank. She blinks at the other woman, eyebrows scrunched together and mouth falling slightly agape.
Dressed in all black, the woman is hot, so, so, hot .
She’s dressed in casual streetwear, chunky sneakers, black tear away track pants, and an oversized windbreaker to match. San can’t help it as her eyes trails up her body, stopping at the stretch of exposed skin along her abdomen where the waistband of her pants end and the hem of her crop top begins.
“Oh sorry, do you speak Japanese? I thought I heard you speak Korean?” The woman in front of her switches fluently to Japanese, a look of nervousness graces her face.
“No, no, I’m Korean, I know some Japanese.” San sputters, brain finally catching up to reality. “Yes, light please.” She adds, completely frazzled.
San stands up, bringing her cigarette back to her lips and leans in at the same time the other woman brings her hands up to light the end. She takes a few easy drags to make sure it’s lit completely, sighing happily in a satisfied exhale.
“Not to be dramatic, but I think you saved my life.” San jokes, stepping away a bit.
The woman takes a cig from her own pack and lights it up as well, joining San.
Naturally, for better or worse, San cannot keep her eyes off of the women in front of her. Her ears are littered with silver earrings, neck adorned with chains San easily identifies as Chrome Hearts. There’s even a pair of sleek black sunglasses from the same brand holding her hair back.
“I saw you searching through your bag and the cig and made an educated guess.” She laughs in response and San contemplates devoting her entire life to making this woman laugh.
It’s a bit of a cackle and more breathy than anything, but it’s honest and pure and San’s insides are quickly melting into liquid.
“I’m San, by the way.” She brings her hand up in a small wave that makes her feel stupid because of how close they are to one another, but she doesn't know what else to do to keep this woman’s attention.
“Wooyoung.” She responds with an easy smile, mimicking San’s ill-thought out wave in a way that settles the jitter of San’s bones.
They smoke in silence for a bit after that, both stealing glances at one another that are in no way secret. San is still too caught up in her head, thinking of possible conversation starters and ways to move past her own awkward state of being. Thankfully though, Wooyoung breaks the silence.
“Why are you in Osaka?” Her cigarette is basically gone now, smoked right down to the bud with one or two more drags left. She holds in between her middle finger and thumb, pressing it between her lips and taking one last long drag.
“Hmm, not much really. Just wanted to spend the weekend here. I haven’t been outside of Korea alone before and thought it would be fun.” San hums a bit, flicking ash off the end of her own cigarette that’s only halfway finished.
“Osaka for your first time? Lovely pick.” Again San is stunned by Wooyoung’s smile.
By nature, San is a romanticist. She finds literally everything romantic, especially the song by Charli XCX. She finds romance in the birds that nest in the tree outside her parents kitchen window, in the sparkles and smudged eyeliner left under Yeosang’s eyes after a night out, in the chipped concrete steps she was just sitting on that let her know hundreds of people have been there before her.
And one thing that is sure to get her every time, is a natural smile and beautiful teeth. Both of which Wooyoung possess.
“Figurged it was better than Tokyo,” She pauses, “And if i'm being completely honest my favorite character from my favorite manga lives here so, you know.” She trails off, looking away a bit in embarrassment at her confession.
“Really, who?” Wooyoung presses. She seems genuinely interested in what San has to say, making San blush under the other woman's attention.
“Miya Atsumu, from Haikyuu.” San knows that without the foundation and artificial blush, her face would be turning a shade of red.
Wooyoung laughs, “The blonde twin right? He’s a setter?”
San’s eyes light up, quickly turning into crescents at the prospect of being able to talk about Atsumu. And based on Wooyoung’s response, she seems to know a bit about Haikyuu already.
“Yes!” San exclaims. “I know he’s annoying to a lot of people because his personality is a bit rough, but they just don’t understand his ambition and self respect.” She prattles on. “He’s a comfort character for me, he never compromises his personality for anyone else and it’s something I admire.”
San tilts her head up from where she had begun staining at the ground to find soft eyes looking back at her. Wooyoung’s head is cocked to the side, her arms crossed, and leaning against the brick fence behind her. She looks physically intimidating, but with the way she’s looking at San, there’s nothing but gentle encouragement and even something that seems like fondness.
There’s no room for San to even think about apologizing for her speech though because Wooyoung jumps in with her own thoughts.
“I remember liking him. I only watched the anime with my best friend, but she said Atsumu reminded her of me. I really like Kuroo though. I like that he is confident enough in himself and his skill to be able to bring out the best in everyone around him and still be silly.” Wooyoung pauses for a second, making sure to settle her roaming eyes onto San. “I’ll even share a secret with you, the battle at the garbage dump made me cry.”
San bounces on her feet slightly, “Oh my god!” She exclaims with a bright smile. “Me too! Everything about the movie was so perfect and also so heartbreaking.” Her hands fly up to her chest and land over her heart, emphasizing her emotions. “Most people don’t care about Haikyuu because it’s ’just volleyball’ but there’s a lot of philosophy hidden inside of it.”
“I think you would get along with my best friend, Seonghwa a lot. She’s a drop dead gorgeous femme that pretends she doesn’t even know how toasters work, but she’s a nerd at heart.” Wooyoung muses.
San takes note of Wooyoung’s carefully placed glance at her when she casually mentioned her friend's gender expression. As a femme herself, San catches on instantly, laughing around the last drag from her cigarette.
“So you’re Korean? With names like Wooyoung and Seonghwa I can only assume.” San smirks, squatting down to stub out her cigarette.
She turns around to dig through her purse, pulling out a small pink drawstring bag she puts her cigarette butts in when there’s no accessible trash can. Facing Wooyoung again, she holds out the bag for her to put her own used filter in.
“My mom lives here with my little brother.” She says, pulling the strings and handing the bag back to San. “I visit a lot. I’m probably in Japan more than Korea at this point.”
“Do you like it here?”
“Hmm, I miss home out of nostalgia. I miss Seonghwa and her girlfriend a lot when I’m here, they’re really the only people I keep in contact with.” Wooyoung’s voice trails off. “But yeah, I like Japan a lot. It’s easier to be nobody, instead of having to be someone specific.”
Taking in her words, San understands. The pressures of keeping up a social profile and ensuring her public image was pristine all for the sake of her family was completely exhausting. None of that really matters anymore though.
San smiles gently at Wooyoung and asks, “So what does nobody do around here?”
But Wooyoung is interrupted by a small woman that pushes her way past her and rushes to San, instantly grabbing both of her hands in her own and squeezing. Wooyoung mumbles something about being a doormat that San can barely pick up on because it’s muttered in Japanese. She doesn’t seem overly offended so San assumes their relationship must be warm.
“I’m so sorry for being late.” The older woman says, her Japanese is rushed and San takes a few extra seconds to process what she is saying. She carries on explaining why she’s late, but San feels lost, eyes quickly jumping to Wooyoung in hopes that she can tell her what’s going on.
Wooyoung catches onto what San is silently asking of her, stepping up behind the lady.
“You’re scaring her, auntie.” San understands that at least and tries her best to reassure the older woman with a warm smile.
The woman rolls her eyes at Wooyoung, but squeezes San’s hands that are still kept under her hold.
“She said her son is incompetent.” Wooyoung translates into Korean, “That boys are dumb and stupid and can’t do anything by themselves without the help of a woman.” Her deadpan delivery makes San laugh.
“This is Matsuri-san, she owns the building.” Wooyoung adds, Matsuri nodding her head along.
“Thank you so much Matsuri-san! I am happy to stay here.” San bows as much as she can with her hands still under Matsuri’s tight grip.
Matsuri seems impressed with San’s use of Japanese, complimenting her with reverence.
They exchange a few more pleasantries before she is finally let into the building, Wooyoung trailing behind her. Without even asking Wooyoung had grabbed San’s carryon bag and slung it over her shoulder, ushering San forward through the front door and up the stairs to where San’s room was.
San is rather muscular, it’s something she is proud of. Working out allows her to gain peace of mind and focus all of her energy into feeling the movement of muscle under skin. She doesn’t want to have to rely on someone else to help her and also just likes the way she looks with toned arms and a sculpted body.
In a normal situation if someone had grabbed her bag with the same finality and dismissal as Wooyoung had, she would have punched them in the fucking face. Yet, for some reason, when Wooyoung did it, San found it hot.
After dumping her stuff in her room, Matsuri gave her a short tour of the house, the spaces shared with other guests, and all the extra information necessary for her short three day stay. Wooyoung of course helped translate when necessary and even quickly replaced a few towels in the bathroom sink at Matsuri’s request.
And then as quickly as she came, the older woman left, once again leaving the pair side by side on the building's steps.
“So…” San started, trailing off as she truly has nothing to say.
She is conflicted. The entire point of this trip was for it to be solo, for her to land on her own two feet and tackle the situation by herself. On the other hand, despite the short time they had been together and how brief their conversation had been, San likes Wooyoung.
There wasn’t a pressing need to spend more time with her, instead it was a slow warmth spreading through her body. Being around Wooyoung seemed more easy than being around anyone else she had ever met. Every bone in her body is melting down into a gelatin, completely pliable under that feline stare and siren-like smile.
“You hungry?” Wooyoung asked, craning her neck to make eye contact with San.
“You paying?” San smirked back.
✩
Wooyoung is playing with fire. More accurately, Wooyoung is totally infatuated with the most gorgeous woman she has ever met.
After settling San into her room, they had walked down the street to a beloved hole-in-the-wall restaurant near and dear to Wooyoung’s heart. They chattered about random topics, learning bits of information about one another, easily falling into conversations that are typically reserved for longtime friends.
Wooyoung learned that San has a black belt in taekwondo and that her father is an instructor as well. She shares her own stories of her mothers work as a seamstress throughout her childhood.
They bicker back and forth about minimal things such as liking rainy weather and if Japanese food is better than Korean. They agree it’s not.
She’s not docile, she’s not a pushover, but she’s soft and caring and Wooyoung is definitely going to be permanently changed by San. Her worldview is so different from her own that every second they’re together Wooyoung feels like her life is being enhanced. There is simply no way she is going to be able to live a life without this woman in hers in some capacity.
As they continue to walk, Wooyoung catches herself staring at San’s side profile. Her bangs are lose and a bit bouncy, they shift every time San turns her head to share another thought with Wooyoung, but never stray from their original place for too long. Almost as if they have a life of their own and are participating in the conversation as well.
Her hair pins are in the shapes of stars, three of them falling in a line, each smaller than the other. The way they frame her face is something otherworldly, completely magical. With her hair styled as it is, her nose and mouth are given the perfect opportunity to showcase themselves.
San’s nose could probably be classified as the eighth world wonder with the way its bridge falls in a straight line. Wooyoung doesn’t want to drool over the other’s cherry glossed lips, but she can’t pry her eyes away everytime they part to speak or stretch to smile. She wonders for a second if she perhaps made up her dream woman and is talking to nothing but air.
When they get to the restaurant they quickly find a table in the back. They peruse the menu together, debating what to get and what would be best for lunch despite Wooyoung already knowing what she was going to order. When San had decided what to get, Wooyoung took the menu up to the register, ordering for them and paying for the meal in full.
When she gets back to the table, San is engrossed in a text chain on her phone. Her long nails tap at the screen every once and a while as her fingers ferociously hit the keyboard.
“Sorry, my best friend Yeosang is having boy troubles. He’s a bit of a maneater and it’s biting him in the ass.” She rolls her eyes, continuing to berate her phone.
“Ah, gotta love the mlm and wlw bestie duo.” Wooyoung laughs.
She shrugs off her jacket and places it on the back of her chair. The early summer heat hasn’t kicked in yet which, Wooyoung is thankful for, but it still means all of the shops and restaurants have their heaters on and this one is no different.
San’s eyes dart up to stare at Wooyoung pointedly before slipping back to her awaiting text chain. Soon she sets her phone on the table face down so as to not be further disrupted by notifications.
The restaurant is one of Wooyoung’s personal favorites. It serves ramen almost twenty four hours a day seven days a week and has both soju and sake available at all times. Not only that but, a few stray cats always seem to find their way through the doors of the establishment and into Wooyoung’s awaiting lap.
Over the years that she has been coming here, the owners have taken a liking to her. They know her by name and have given her the nickname of ‘kuro neko’ which when she relayed to Seonghwa, the other woman had cackled and forced her to watch Haikyuu the next time she was in South Korea.
Now that she thinks about it, Wooyoung has the cats, the owners, and Seonghwa to thank for being able to keep up the conversation with San earlier.
There are a few regulars that dip in and out just like herself, and Wooyoung often finds conversions with the locals to be refreshing no matter how many times she has been here. With each new thing she learns about their neighborhood, she falls in love with it all over again. Despite the circumstances which have led her to living in Japan part time, Wooyoung would relive it all a thousand times just to get to experience the beauty in the locality.
“It’s actually quite treacherous.” San says, drawing attention back to their conversion.
“I have to play wingwoman for him way too often and he never returns the favor.” She flips her hair gently over her shoulder and away from her face. “In his defense, no one seems to be interested in me though.”
Wooyoung raises her eyebrows as if personally offended.
“No one is interested in you?” She asks with an accusatory tone, looking her up and down. “You’ve got to be lying.”
San’s expression shifts slightly, her mouth turning downwards into a frown.
Wooyoung is not trying to provoke her or demean her in any way, she simply can’t believe that this woman doesn't have a line of suitors drooling after her and tripping over themselves every second of every day.
Defensively, San sits back in her chair, crossing her arms in a way that makes Wooyoung’s head spin. Her jacket is hung on the back of her chair, leaving her broad shoulders and muscular arms on full display due to the emerald green top that hugged her chest. Wooyoung felt no better than a man from the middle ages seeing a young maidens ankle for the first time.
San’s action was probably meant to unnerve her or at least challenge her tone, but it had the opposite effect. Now Wooyoung was doing nothing other than checking her out, as if she hadn’t been doing that all day already.
“What benefit would I get from lying about who’s attracted to me or not?”
“I’m not saying you’re lying lying, just that it seems impossible that you, the most beautiful woman on the planet, isn’t being drowned by compliments and kisses daily.” Wooyoung easily placitas.
Her resulting blush makes Wooyoung’s insides spiral. San huffs in response before trying her best to counter.
“Yeah well, everyone wants to talk to the cute girl until she’s getting shitfaced from one drink and still capable of beating the shit out of someone when they call her easy.” San sounds annoyed as she recounts her sure to be true tale.
“Hot.” Wooyoung’s response is earnest, but definitely influenced by the way her stomach flipped, imagining San punching a misguided man in the face.
San rolls her eyes, “I could flip this table over right now and pin you to the floor.”
She doesn’t seem to understand her effect on Wooyoung at all, hell bent on proving her own point.
“Please,” Wooyoung moans, finally making San laugh and relax back into her chair a bit. She laughs as well, easing the conversation back from teasing and into a more easy going, sincere manner.
They are briefly interrupted by a waiter placing their drinks in front of them. Wooyoung recognizes him as the owner's son and gives him a warm smile, thanking him for taking care of them.
“But seriously, you are gorgeous San. Muscles and all, anyone and everyone that passes by the opportunity to spend time with you based on their own fucked up projections, doesn’t derserve you anyways.” She reassures her.
“I know,” She sighs. “It’s a conversation I’ve had with Yeosang plenty of times.” She sounds almost sarcastic, but Wooyung knows she means it.
Bringing both hands to the sides of her head, San unpins her hair clips and scrunches her hands to muss up her hair before smoothing it back down and repinning them. There was nothing wrong with the placement, nor her hair in general, yet the action endears Wooyoung, watching silently with a dopey smile.
“It’s just frustrating to never have anyone take me seriously or make assumptions instead of just talking to me.” She looks a bit sad, mouth dipping into a pout and eyes pinned to the table top. “I know I’m hot. I’m a femme for god's sake, it’s performative for a reason.”
San’s eyes move sporadically around the restaurant as if trying to see her own words in the air like they will guide her to some unknown truth.
“Obviously it’s a stereotype and of course I’m making generalizations, but it just seems like everyone wants a slim femme that is half the size of their partner.” San sighs a bit dramatically, but honestly, Wooyoung would do the same in her situation, if not worse.
“If someone can’t understand that gender expression, sexuality, and physical body are all different aspects of an individual’s life then they failed from the start.” Wooyoung rolls her eyes and takes a sip from her drink.
Being queer is already filled with so much outside pressure that talking about the internal issue of the community is just as hurtful. Inclusivity comes naturally for some and is a struggle for others.
There was never much of an internal battle for Wooyoung. She always knew who she was and was extremely thankful for such a loving mother that allowed her to experiment with personal style from a younger age that she never really had to be anything other than herself. The majority of Wooyoung’s insecurities come from ex girlfriends and flings that didn’t even try to understand her, which she guesses is why it hurts so much to hear that San had suffered a similar experience.
Wooyoung is just about to jump over the table and grab San’s shoulders, shaking her until she’s incapable of thinking negative things about herself, when their food arrives.
Two steaming bowls filled with ramen are placed in front of them along with a tray of edamame. They thank the waiter and then send out a quick thanks for the meal into the aether before digging in.
Wooyoung completely deflates after the first bite, falling dramatically back into her chair and playing dead. Her head is hanging off to the side with her eyes closed and mouth open. It was a silly habit that she picked up from her brother, the two would drive their mom crazy with their synchronized faux faint.
San’s sparkling giggles fill the air and Wooyoung truly feels like she’s in heaven.
There's a few minutes filled with the sounds of them slurping noodles and broth before San breaks the comfortable silence again.
“What about you?”
“Huh?” Wooyoung questions, caught off guard with a mouth full of pork cutlet.
“Surely you have women fawning over you.” San says with certainty.
Wooyoung chuckles and shakes her head as she swallows a mouthful of food behind her hand.
“Believe it or not, I’m in the same boat as you.” She shrugs. “No one likes a cocky know-it-all that’s not afraid to call you out on your bullshit. On top of that I can’t control the filter from my brain to mouth sometimes and am apparently self centered.” Wooyoung huffs a laugh through her nose, shaking her head. “Spend enough time with me and you’ll understand.”
One of the things that she is most self conscious of is the way people perceive her as uncaring. There is not a single bone in Wooyoung’s body that caters to selfishness. In the rare moments she finds herself letting her ego take over, it hurts.
Wooyoung’s empathy was often mistook as dramatism for attention. No one ever thinks she actually feels other’s feelings on a deeper level. No one ever dares to think that Wooyoung fosters a complex range of emotions.
Much of her teenage years were filled with various classmates at school telling her to grow up, to start taking things seriously, to stop being so obnoxious. Yet, Wooyoung found all of their suggestions rather stupid. She never allowed herself to listen to them, instead continuing to be herself in all the ways that mattered to her and her mother.
When she graduated she thought things would change, that maybe school kids were just miserable and projecting onto her. However, that didn’t seem to be the truth. Adults she met and strangers she spoke to all echoed the same sentiment that Wooyoung was simply too much to handle.
Her first serious girlfriend had even felt such pity for her that she stuck around for two years just to see if Wooyoung would change her ways and grow out of her personality. Their breakup had been mostly full of her ex claiming she had reached her breaking point and couldn’t take it anymore.
Wooyoung agreed in a sense, she couldn’t take it either. Every honest comment was countered with aggression. Every joke and instigation of playful banter was met with annoyance and comments about her attitude. Nothing Wooyoung ever did was enough and eventually she thought she would grow out of it too.
After that Wooyoung sat with herself and tried to figure out what was wrong with her. Ultimately she came to the conclusion that she loved differently than her ex girlfriend. She wanted someone to banter back and forth with, someone who could dish it out as good as they could take it, someone to bounce ideas off of, and someone that actually enjoys her company and that isn’t just infatuated with her natural charisma.
Laughter catches Wooyoung off guard, making her snap her head up in shock, wide eyes catching San’s that are already locked on to hers. Her gaze is not harsh or full of snark as Wooyoung expected, instead it seems to see completely through her in a way that is oddly comforting.
“I guess we’re made for each other then.”
Yeah, Wooyoung is fucked.
✩
The rest of the afternoon is filled with them fluttering around their neighborhood in Sakurai. San doesn't know how she ended up letting Wooyoung guide her around, but she’s not mad about it at all.
Ever since the restaurant there has been an air of excitement surrounding them. They make sure to stay within close proximity to one another, a brush of hands here, strategically placed touches there, everything is done with intention.
They had delved deeper into each other’s perceptions of the world as they ate ramen in that small shop.
San knows Wooyoung is attracted to her. The look in her eyes is a bit too intense for San to think otherwise. Wooyoung’s casual flirting is also starting to get to her. Whether it be a casual comment about how attractive she is or a sincere compliment, Wooyoung is loud about how she feels about her. There is not a second where they are behaving normally around one another, and honestly, San is excited.
She knows she’s attracted to Wooyoung too, but there’s something deeper trying to simmer up to the surface. A hot heat had settled in San’s stomach, but was now starting to consume her in a way it never had before. Desire has never felt like this with anyone San has ever been with, let alone someone she has only flirted with for a few hours. She feels light headed with each laugh and weightless after each smile. Usually it’s less demanding, more easy going and definitely doesn’t twist her stomach in knots of hunger.
To put it dramatically: San feels insane.
“Do you want the pink or purple one?” Wooyoung is looking down at a case of charm bracelets, handling them gently to assess the quality.
They ended up in a jewelry store after visiting a few other shops. One being a stationary store that San had spent seven thousand yen at, plus the additional five thousand yen Wooyoung had spent for her.
San tried to reprimand her, saying she could pay for her own things and that there was no reason for Wooyoung to indulge in her unwise spending habits. Wooyoung just smiled at her the entire time, taking her bag from her hands when she was done speaking and moving them along to the next shop where, again, Wooyoung paid for the majority of San’s purchases.
After the third store San had given up completely, letting the other woman do as she pleased.
“Hmm, let me see.” San holds her hand out for Wooyoung to place the bracelets in.
She runs her fingers over the beads. The charms are the same on each bracelet, just different color variations. There’s a cute cat charm bigger than the rest in the center of the bracelet, followed by smaller charms of a four leaf clover, a butterfly, and a bow.
They are so cute that San’s brain is already telling her she needs both. Her curse of having to buy multiples of items is taking charge, flushing her brain with dopamine at the prospect of obtaining two gorgeous identical bracelets of different colors.
She puts both of them on her left wrist, stacking them among the other bracelets she already wears. The pair fit perfectly.
San pouts and looks up at Wooyoung in agony. “I need both.”
Her expression makes Wooyoung chuckle before taking her hand and guiding the brackets off her wrist. The act itself sends San into the chasm of her mind.
Wooyoung holds onto them as they peruse the rest of the store.
The store itself is surprisingly large compared to what it looked like from the outside. San assumed it would be a medium sized square-ish room with glass counters that each house pieces of jewelry. What the store actually was, was a lot more exciting and enticing.
All around her there were tall open faced glass cabinets. It seemed as if each wall was filled with different styles of jewelry and various designer pieces. There were even a few showcased items in their own display with spotlights on them that highlighted just the right angles to make the piece catch your eye.
The cases wove in a snakelike pattern, moving the customer along in a specific way that, based on San’s guess, held the most gorgeous and expensive pieces towards the end of the shop where the check out counter was.
San’s favorite part though, was the art on the walls. Above the jewelry counters were gallery worthy art pieces. They were all abstract and full of color, popping against the gray walls and countless metallic accessories.
As they move on to another section, Wooyoung picks out a few rings for herself, trying them on and asking for San’s opinion.
“You obviously like Chrome Hearts, but the chunky Mugler is kind of to die for.” San comments, picking out the piece she is talking about and showing it off to Wooyoung.
The other woman takes it and places it on her own hand, swiveling it around in order to catch light from different angles. San waits with a baited breath to see if her pick is satisfactory.
“I like it, but the giant jem stone in the center is kind of throwing me off. Typically I like plain silver hardware with designs.” Wooyoung wiggles the ring off her finger and places it back in its display.
San eyes another ring, this one being silver with leaf patterns etched into the sides, connecting in the center to form a spiral and then weaving back to the opposite side. It is no doubt different from what Wooyoung is currently wearing and the other rings she has picked out for herself, but something about it draws her in.
“What about this one?”
Once again, Wooyoung examines the new piece under her trained eye. San waits patiently for a response, eyes never leaving Wooyoung’s hands.
“This is definitely closer to my style. I might wear it every once and a while, but not daily or even weekly.” She explained.
“What if you were going on a picnic in the forest? This ring matches the vibe perfectly.” San counters.
There is no real reason for her to push for Wooyoung to like this specific ring. There are plenty more cases full of silver rings, many of those sure to be perfectly inline with the style of Wooyoung’s preference. Yet, this one calls her and demands it be placed on the hands of the woman before her.
“I’d wear it if you were going.” Wooyoung flirts with an equally sneaky smirk.
“Shut up.” San laughs, reaching for her hand to take the ring off.
Except Wooyoung pulls her hand away.
“No, I’m serious. I’ll wear it every time we go on picnics.” By the look in her eyes, San can tell Wooyoung is entirely serious. Her lips are now slightly pouty, eyes big and sincere.
And San is helpless.
“Okay.” San deadpans, a bit dumbly.
The smile she gets in return is something San hopes she never forgets and is able to see everyday for the rest of her life. Wooyoung’s lips stretch across her face, allowing her deep cheek dimples to come out and for her eyes to almost close with the force behind her smile.
Seemingly unable to contain herself, Wooyoung reaches out and grabs the sides of San’s head, careful not to disrupt the clips in her hair. She quickly places a kiss on San’s forehead and then turns around to look for more rings.
Flustered beyond belief, San turns completely red. She reaches up a hand to touch the place where Wooyoung's lips once were, trying her hardest to implant the feeling on them onto her forehead permanently.
San tries her best to take a silent deep breath in order to contain herself, but the exhale comes out a bit shaky. She even pinches herself on the arm, repeating get it together in her mind in hopes that it will calm her down.
“Do you have any piercings besides your ears?” Wooyoung asks, still occupied by slipping rings on and off her fingers.
The question serves as a slight distraction which San is grateful for.
Just like Wooyoung, San has three lobe piercings. She never moved past her lobes though, unsure what exactly to go for when there were too many choices and all of them looked gorgeous. Wooyoung, though, has a double helix on her left ear and a single on her right as well as a rook.
“My belly button.” San replies, turning around to lean against the counter, “I’ve always wanted my tongue pierced though.” She adds.
Wooyoung hums thoughtfully, however her lack of physical acknowledgement towards San’s words puts her off a bit. The question was unexpected, but her response was even more unpredictable. Usually, those two comments get San’s suitors instantly caught in her net.
“What about you? Do you have your nipples pierced” San jokes, laughing as she turns her head towards Wooyoung.
“Yeah, actually.”
San’s face instantly drops, the desire finally tipping the scales and sinking into her core. Her previous concerns of why Wooyoung wouldn't be interested in her navel piercing were completely wiped from her brain.
“Can I see them?” She asks desperately, not thinking about how embarrassing it is to burst out with that question. Instead her mind is filled with images of Wooyoung’s chest decorated with pretty barbells through her nipples.
Laughing in response, Wooyoung sets her rings down and turns her full attention to San.
“Maybe later, if you let me buy you more jewelry.” She smirks, racking her eyes up and down San’s body.
San nods quickly with wide eyes. “Whatever you want.”
Wooyoung nods approvingly with an evil glint in her eyes and continues her previous task of trying on rings for herself. She has San try on a few more, cradling her hands within her own. Wooyoung is so delicate with her, she can’t help but squirm under the quiet attention.
Eventually, Wooyoung finds a gorgeous vintage Vivienne Westwood necklace in gold with a light pink Orb. San tries to argue against it, but quickly remembers her promised reward and shuts up, which Wooyoung looks all too satisfied about.
The last section they look at is for body piercings. San looks at earrings for herself, finding at least five pairs that she finds herself unable to part with. She glances at the jewelry for navel piercings, but doesn’t look too hard as she’s pretty content with the pink heart she currently wears.
“Wait, we should get this pair to match.” San says, holding out a silver and gold set of hoop star earrings that catches her eye as they pass.
They’re rather large and not something San would typically find herself wearing, but the glistening gem stones that outline the shape catch her attention.
“These are beautiful, good eye.” Wooyoung praises, causing San’s cheeks to heat up.
There’s absolutely no reason for her to be acting like this, but here she is, five seconds away from whimpering at the smallest crumb of praise directed towards her.
“Here, can you take these up to the counter?” Wooyoung says, handing over their collection of items to San. “There’s one more thing I want to look at really quickly.”
Still caught up inside her own brain, she obeys without question.
Up at the counter, San lays out all of the jewelry Wooyoung picked out for her as well as the few pieces she picked out for herself. The clerk behind the counter easily packages each item into their own designated pouch as he rings them up. It doesn’t take long for Wooyoung to join them again with an item that was already tucked away inside a small box.
Recognizing Wooyoung, the clerk bowes respectfully and welcomes her back into the store. They strike up mild conversation that is easy for San to follow, being nothing more than pleasantries.
The interaction itself however, piqued her interest into the intricacies of Wooyoung’s life. Here she was demanding that San needs everything she looks at and knowing the employees of a rather esteemed jewelry shop on a personal level. On top of that she was friendly with San’s Airbnb host in a way that felt familial and knew obscure restaurants where the walls had chipping paint, but mouthwatering food.
Each layer that gets peeled back from Wooyoung’s life, San is falling even deeper into a crazed infatuation.
For the longest time she has been craving a perspective shift. One that turns her worldview upside down and actually forces her to evaluate her principles. One that breaks away from the legacy of her family and allows her to step into her own light.
Every second with Wooyoung feels like that light is starting to break through her chest.
Suddenly, she feels inferior. It creeps up on her, washing her brain with an ugly feeling of envy towards every other woman that has had the chance to be with Wooyoung. For some reason despite knowing that Wooyoung finds her attractive, San fears having to let go of Wooyoung one day.
The prospect of getting a taste of life with Wooyoung today and then never being to experience another day of teasing, another late lunch with gossip over steaming bowls of ramen, another shared cigarette on the walk from one shop to the other. San cannot imagine, does not want to imagine, a world in which Wooyoung is not by her side.
She knows it’s crazy, knows they have only known each other for less than twelve hours, but there is something alluring about Wooyoung that is unexplainable.
Like a curious baby deer trotting into a meadow for the first time, San wants to discover the world she has now run into.
“Ready to go love?” Wooyoung grabs the bag holding all of their jewelry and wraps an arm loosely around San’s waist. Her face scrunches up a bit, seeming to pick up on San’s energy switch. “Are you okay?”
Her hold grows a little tighter and within the warm arms of the other woman San’s brain quiets slightly. She leans into the embrace more, determined to bring up her occupying thoughts soon.
“Mhm” She nods, “Just up in my head.”
Wooyoung smiles and pulls her even closer, rubbing circles into her back gently.
“Let’s head back to your place for a bit to drop these off and then we can make plans for dinner. Sound good?”
“Sounds perfect.” San sighs.
Despite Wooyoung’s protests, San ends up carrying half of the bags which she starts doing arm curls with, saying you can workout anywhere and never skip arms. Wooyoung’s laughs only encourage her antics.
All previous thoughts of inferiority have left, instead they are replaced with the never ending chatter of conversation between the two.
The sky above is just beginning to turn into a golden hue as the sun sets into the late afternoon when they finally reach the front door. They make their way inside, quickly taking off their shoes and heading upstairs after grabbing a much needed drink of water.
San’s suitcase is still unpacked at the foot of her bed, which she belines for. Wooyoung makes herself useful and starts separating the belongings they had bought earlier, making a pile for herself and another for San.
Tying her hair up in a ponytail, San shuffles around the room plugging in her phone and setting out her hair and makeup products on the top of the dresser. She also puts her silk pajamas on the chair by the door.
By the time she’s done getting herself settled in fully, Wooyoung is patiently waiting at the foot of the bed.
“Do y-” San starts, but is cut off by an embarrassingly loud and long yawn.
“Wanna take a nap? I’ll wake you up in thirty minutes?” Wooyoung responds with a chuckle.
San wonders how anyone has ever thought ill of this woman. Maybe everyone else is fucked up or maybe San is actually insane, but Wooyoung is all she has ever wanted and the rate in which she is ready to devote her life to the other would probably be worrying to anyone else. To her, nothing else matters other than the two of them.
“Can you lay with me?” San pouts as her face once again flushes with heat at her own suggestion.
Too many of her inner thoughts have escaped through her mouth today. Many more than would normally be allowed seem to let themselves loose under Wooyoung’s care.
“Sure kitty” Wooyoung replies in her silky smooth voice that resembles a purr.
It makes San’s stomach drop and her head feel slightly dizzy, but she composes herself almost instantly knowing soon she will be held within Wooyoung’s arms.
After a few minutes of shuffling around, the two finally settle into bed. A timer is set on Wooyoung’s phone that she places on the bedside table.
Then, as prophecised, she carefully wraps her arms around San and pulls her close to her chest.
Naturally, San tucks her head under Wooyoung’s chin and sighs deeply with content. She softly brushes her nose along Wooyoung throat, placing a light kiss at the junction of her collarbone.
“Thank you” She whispers before drifting off into much needed rest.
✩
The buzzing alarm catches Wooyoung off guard. She’s disoriented from being pulled from sleep so fast that her heart is pounding in her chest as she grapples for her chiming phone.
San groans and tries to bury herself into Wooyoung’s neck. She now lays almost completely on top of Wooyoung, arms wrapped tightly around her waist. They are completely intertwined, limbs twisted together.
“I’m comfy.” San pouts, voice muffled against Wooyoung’s skin.
One undeniable fact about San is that everything about her is adorable. Wooyoung has had the pleasure of getting to discover this throughout the day and each realization has her falling deeper into the unknown.
Despite still feeling the sleep behind her eyes, San’s gentle breaths across her neck have Wooyoung feeling like he just won a nobel prize. She is just about to give in and spend the rest of the night wrapped up together when San’s stomach grumbles.
“Time to get up, Sannie.” She laughs. Wooyoung brushes San’s hair back, leaving her hand to rest on the back of her neck, thumb rubbing gently at the base of her skull.
“Noooooo.” She whines, burrowing her head further into the warmth of Wooyoung’s neck.
A cozy feeling bubbles up inside of Wooyoung’s heart. One that feels like coming home or snuggling up besides a fire on a summer night. It’s all consuming and totally unmistakable.
Wooyoung drags her hand down San’s back, running over the skin of her waist and hip where her tank top has risen.
“Unfortunately we gotta get up.” Wooyoung huffs, “Can’t have my pretty little kitty going hungry now can I?”
Her teasing has San pulling back from her neck and removing her arms out from under Wooyoung’s back. Her cheeks are red from both sleep and blush, eyes still a little hazy, and lips just as plump and pouty as ever.
Wooyoung can’t resist bringing both hands up to San’s cheeks, squishing them so her lips jut out even more. With the quick soft peck she places onto San’s pillowy soft lips, Wooyoung knows she will never tire of kissing her.
She removes her hands to continue petting through San’s hair again.
“You’re so cute.” Wooyoung muses with a tender smile.
San’s responding grin is the biggest Wooyoung has ever seen from the other woman. It’s wide and full of teeth, her eyes closing completely into crescents, dimples planting themselves on either side of her face.
Wooyoung has half a mind to resist placing kisses on every inch of San’s beautiful face, but just barely.
“Ughhh,” Wooyoung tosses her head back against the pillows. “We’re going to get dinner, probably have a glass of wine, and then I’m going to devour you.” She says, gathering every possible thread of resolve available to her.
“Careful Wooyoung, that’s awfully possessive of you.” San jokes.
“I hope so.”
The pair make easy work of getting up and gathering themselves into presentable members of society again. Wooyoung uses San’s brush to come through her slightly frizzy hair and then helps San brush her own hair back into perfection. Her bangs had gotten smooshed during the nap, so as an easy fix, San pinned them up with the rest of her hair.
San opts to change out of the pants she was wearing previously and instead chooses a tight jean skirt that has Wooyoung fighting with the parasites in her brain telling to skip dinner.
Their entire getting ready process is full of lingering touches: hands glued to skin when there is no real reason for them to be there, causal bumps of hips or leaning into each other's arms. Every second is completely domestic.
“What are you feeling for dinner?” Wooyoung questions.
She’s standing side by side next to San in the bathroom mirror, both of them applying their lip combos.
“Maybe pasta? Something different than normal.” San pops her lips together, turning her head from side to side to check the shine and shimmer of the gloss.
Wooyoung thinks on this for a moment. There are not many places for pasta in the greater Osaka area seeing as they are all focused in the heart of the prefecture. Sure they could get on the train and take the trip there, but Wooyoung has a better idea.
“How about I make you dinner?” She poses. “We can go to my place and I’ll make you whatever pasta you want.”
She presents this question for multiple reasons of course, it would be quicker, easier, more practical even. Selfishly, Wooyoung also wants to try her best to impress San with her vast culinary knowledge and skill.
It would also benefit her need to get San on her back with her legs over her shoulders and head between her legs, but that’s neither here nor there. Wooyoung is a gentle-lady of course.
“Ooo, that actually sounds nice. No one’s ever made a meal before on a date so you will set the standard for whoever’s next.” San teases.
She must know exactly what that does to Wooyoung with the way she smirks and preemptively moves a step to the side just as Wooyoung reaches out to pinch her, as if she already anticipated that reaction.
San laughs as she continues to messily dodge Wooyoung’s hand until she starts going after her with both, grabbing her arms and swiftly pinning them behind her back. Her hold is loose and with all the training San had mentioned earlier, Wooyoung knows she could easily break out of it. Yet, she doesn't.
“We’ve already established that I’m possessive, so watch what you say kitty.” Wooyoung whispers, leaning into San’s space and brushing their noses together.
“Hmm.” San hums with a smirk, her eyes darting across Wooyoung's face. “Can we have lemon pesto with fried tofu?” She asks innocently.
Wooyoung leans back a bit, watching her carefully. Her gaze isn’t calculating, it’s just observant. Her request is something Wooyoung would have never guessed and the request for pasta in general is rather strange considering everything, but it’s so San and so endearing.
“Of course.” she nods. “You almost ready to go?”
“Let’s go! I’m so excited!” San giggles in response, throwing her arms around Wooyoung’s neck and kissing her cheek.
The walk to Wooyoung’s apartment is quick as it’s just a few doors down, a fact that she is overwhelmingly grateful for. They can’t seem to stop laughing and lightly teasing one another like the lovesick fools they are beginning to recognize themselves as.
They pause on the steps before the door for a cigarette break completely reminiscent of their meeting. Wooyoung hands a cig from her pack to San and picks out one for herself as well, pulling out her lighter and sparking the ends.
Just watching do something so mundane as smoking a cigarette has Wooyoung’s brain working overtime.
San looked out onto the street before them, watching the happenings around them. With the way her hair gently blew in the wind and how her rose tinted lip gloss left prints on the filter, Wooyoung was entranced.
Snapping herself back to reality with a shake of her head, Wooyoung laughs lightly.
“What?” San inquired, taking another drag of her almost finished cigarette.
“Just thinking really gay thoughts.” She smiles. Wooyoung flicks off the burnt ash and locks her eyes onto San’s, both of them bringing their cigs to their lips at the same time.
They finished their smoke break shortly after and Wooyoung guides San into her place with a firm hand on her lower back.
Inside, Wooyoung turns on the light to her entryway and pulls off her jacket. The soft lighting only illuminates so much of the apartment. She leaves San to take off her shoes and moves further into the room, turning on various lamps that start to bring the living room to life.
San has joined her by time the lighting is just how Wooyoung likes it. She takes her time looking around the place.
The walls are lined with various band posters and decor that Wooyoung had worked hard to curate over the years. She wanted the space to be cozy but also match her rather rough and somewhat grimey aesthetic.
Letting San observe it all for herself, Wooyoung makes a comment about getting started on making dinner and begins doing just that.
The kitchen is where she often feels the most at ease. Years of offering helping hands next to her mother had boosted her confidence and most importantly, reminded her of home. Not just her childhood house, but the aching feeling in her heart that longed for comfort.
Lemon pesto was surprisingly a dish that Wooyoung had made before for her mother and brother when they first moved to Japan. She wanted to try something completely different from what they were used to in an effort to take their minds off of the sudden change in livelihood.
As she chopped, sliced, and blended the ingredients together she didn’t notice San’s presence until the other was right next to her.
“Need any help?” She asked.
“No thank you darling.” Wooyoung said, giving San a quick peck. “I’ll take care of dinner, just relax for now.”
Wooyoung continued to offer her things to do such as putting on music or rummaging through her collection of magazines.
Soft conversation once again found them in the lulls of cooking. San took to standing around the kitchen, seemingly happy enough to be around Wooyoung as she prepares their meal. Every once and a while she will request help by means of retrieving items, but other than that Wooyoung handles it all.
She plates the meal and pours them each a glass of sweet cherry wine that Wooyoung had personally imported from France, and carries it over to her small dining room table that occupied the awkward space between the living room and kitchen. She sees that San had lit the candle in the middle of the table while she was cooking and smiles at the simplicity and care of the action.
Romance has always been a thing Wooyoung acknowledged passively. She knew how to be romantic and knew what qualified as true romance compared to something that had a romantic feeling.
This, she knew, was true romance.
All of her actions were born from devotion to the woman before her, as if her heart was collared and San held the leash.
Being able to take care of San in this way was deeply fulfilling in a way she hadn’t expected. Watching San eat across from her, babbling on about how good the meal was contributed to the solidification that no one else in the world would ever compare to her.
As they got closer to finishing their plates, San started to send rather heated glances towards Wooyoung who always smirked in return with a shake of her head as if in disbelief.
And then there was nothing else left for either of them to use to stall the undeniable hunger they both felt towards one another.
Wooyoung gets up to collect their dishes and is accompanied by San like a shadow. She sets the dishes down and turns around to face San who already has a feral grin stretching across her lips.
“Someone said something about devouring me earlier?” San questions tapping her pointer finger on her chin “Do you know where I can find them?”
Wooyoung throws her head back and laughs openly, heart filling with warmth. “Come here.”
San abides and melts right into Wooyoung’s embrace. Their chests press together, arms tightly wrapping around one another. Distantly Wooyoung imagines them fusing together on a molecular level.
Unable to stop herself any longer, Wooyoung’s hands find themselves placed on San’s cheeks, pulling her in, and slotting their lips together in a kiss that quickly grows heated.
Sticky gloss gets smeared between their lips, making a new shade and flavor that is so them it makes Wooyoung’s head spin.
San’s hands begin to pull at the fabric of Wooyoung’s ribbed tank top, gripping it as if it is her only tether to earth. Similarly, Wooyoung’s hands migrate into San’s hair grasping at strands. Hot puffs of air are exchanged when Wooyoung harshly bites on San’s bottom lip only to soothe the sting with a wet lick that has a broken whimper leaking from San’s mouth.
Greedily, San surges forward trying to bully her way past Wooyoung’s lips. Wooyoung uses the leverage she already has and tugs at the hair bunched up in her fist. In response San tries her best to bite at Wooyoung’s lips, but can only graze her teeth across them before Wooyoung is pulling her away.
There is an easily identifiable fire burning in her gut at the push and pull dynamic starting to emerge between them. One Wooyoung cannot wait to tame.
“I thought you wanted to be devoured?” Wooyoung mocks with a fake pout that turns into a taunting smirk as she grabs San’s chin. “Be a good kitty for me, hmm?”
The eye roll she receives in return makes an evil monster appear, surging through her veins.
Wooyoung pulls tighter on the hair still enclosed in her fist and moves her other hand to harshly grip San’s jaw.
“Behave.” She commands, licking across San’s closed lips possessively.
She eases her grip on San’s face as her own balled fists flatten on Wooyoung’s waist. They continue making out, Wooyoung guiding them and controlling their pace completely.
Some unknown amount of time passes like this. Waves of obedience and control call through the pair, both growing more and more worked up until Wooyoung finally makes the move to lead them clumsily through her apartment and into her bedroom.
Wooyoung all but shoves San onto her bed, instantly falling forward and caging her under her arms. Loose hair falls down the sides of her face like a curtain, enclosing the two of them in an enclave of anticipation.
Wasting no time Wooyoung attaches her lips to the soft skin under San’s jaw, biting and lapping at every inch available to her. She pays special attention to the constellation of freckles splattered on the side of San’s neck, making sure to worship them as if they were literal stars in the night sky.
The noises it draws out of San are fuel to Wooyoung’s fire. Soft whimpers and hitched breaths, the rapid rise and fall of San’s chest is mesmerizing.
Wooyoung drags a hand up the flank of San’s abdomen, pushing her hand up under the skin tight material of her top. The action has San squirming, sensitive muscles tightening.
Moving from her place at San’s neck, Wooyoung dives lower. She presses more wet kisses to the exposed skin of her chest.
“Fuck, I’m obsessed with you.” Wooyoung heaves when she finally pulls herself up.
With the way Wooyoung had pushed San down onto her bed, San’s hair is spread out like a halo around her head. Strands trail over pillows like rivers falling down mountains or vines that crawl up brick walls. Just like everything else about her, it’s mesmerising.
Wooyoung reaches up to gently release her hair clips from their hold, instantly brushing her fingers through San’s soft hair and further fanning it across her pillows.
“You’re so pretty.” Wooyoung whispers.
The pink covering San’s cheeks deepens. Wooyoung can tell she is growing shy with the way she tries to avoid eye contact.
Deciding to be merciful, Wooyoung moves to capture her lips in another tender kiss.
Wooyoung slots her thigh between San’s legs and pulls her waist up to angle their hips together. San’s reaction is immediate.
With a gasp she grinds her hips up into Wooyoung’s. “Fuck,” She gasps again. “Please.”
Wooyoung chuckles at San’s begging after being silent for so long.
“What is it kitty?” She teases with another punishing grind of her hips.
“Need you.” San’s eyes are practically pools of black, wide with clear want and desire.
“Where?” Wooyoung asks dumbly, snaking a hand down between their bodies to where she knows warmth is pooling under San’s skirt. “Here?”
The direct contact and pressure on San’s pussy has her almost crying despite the layers of clothing separating skin from skin.
“Can I eat you out?’ Wooyoung asks.
She nods widely, trying to buck her hips into Wooyoung’s hand. All of her bratty energy from earlier has evaporated, instead it is replaced by an eager kitten ready to please.
Wooyoung removes herself from San’s body completely, causing her to whine. With swift, dexterous fingers, Wooyoung unbuttons the skirt smoothly and in one quick motion hooks her fingers into the waist bands of the skirt and lacy trim of San’s underwear.
She threw them somewhere onto the floor, San’s phone seemingly tumbling out of her pocket by the resounding thumps. Neither of them pay it much mind, too caught up in each other to care.
Wooyoung promised to pay respects to every god, deity, and prophet at the sight below her.
San’s pussy is a dark pink and bordered by equally dark coarse hair that makes the monsters lurking in her bloodstream perk up. Her trimmed bush leads up towards her navel in a light trail, guiding Wooyoung straight to gorgeous light pink jewelry that is nestled in San’s belly button.
Wooyoung reaches down and parts her folds with her thumb, wetting it with San’s awaiting arousal. Entranced, she rubs her now wet thumb across San’s clit just to see how she reacts.
The mewl it pulls from San is exactly what she was looking for.
Lifting her eyes back over San’s body, Wooyoung is once again in awe of the woman before her. Broad shoulders that lead into gorgeous plump breasts and an enticing tapered waist, Wooyoung prepares to worship the skin currently hidden behind her tank top after she delivers her promise of devouring her.
Wooyoung settles herself between San’s thighs and holds them further apart. She begins leaving wet, sloppy kisses along her thighs that have San squirming the closer she gets to where she’s needed most.
Holding eye contact, Wooyoung flattens her tongue and drags it from hole to clit. She tastes divine.
With every flick of Wooyoung’s tongue San becomes more and more squirmy. She twitches and whines and drives Wooyoung crazy.
Tell Me by Wonder Girls starts blaring from somewhere in Wooyoung’s room, making San flinch in surprise. She tugs on Wooyoung's hair harder than normal and heaves out a breathy ‘stop’ which Wooyoung instantly abides by.
“Fuck,” San rolls her eyes. “Yeosang is calling me.”
Wooyoung’s face scrunches up in confusion. What the fuck does that have to do with anything?
Ignoring it, Wooyoung tries to dive back into the heaven that is San’s pussy, but again San pointedly tugs her hair and brings her back up her chest.
The chorus repeats. San’s chest is still rising and falling with deep intakes of air and equally long exhales. She seems to be contemplating what to do and Wooyoung understands what her decision will be as she sighs and looks into Wooyoung’s eyes with guilt.
“I have to go.” She shuts her eyes and makes to sit up.
Wooyoung’s body follows hers, giving her the space to comfortably sit at the head of her bed, but still close enough to share air.
“Go?” She questions, her voice is softer and more vulnerable than she anticipated and she can tell San recognizes the change.
“He needs me right now.” San cups Wooyoung’s face in her hands.
Her slick is still covering the bottom of Wooyoung's face, she can feel it drying on her skin and taste her on her tongue. It feels wrong to be talking about some random man she doesn’t even know at a time like this.
“He knows I’m with you right now and wouldn’t call unless it was necessary.” San sounds genuinely remorseful, Wooyoung knows she is and completely understands, but it hurts the parts of her heart that are still wounded by people that never cared about her.
San stands up in front of her and Wooyoung sits up fully and swings her legs over the side of the bed so San can stand in between them. Wooyoung grabs San’s hips, wide eyes trying their best not to manipulate, but still growing wide and pleading.
“You’re actually leaving?” Wooyoung pouts.
“You know where I’m staying.” San kisses the pout off Wooyoung lips and slips out of Wooyoung’s arms, searching for her discarded clothes.
“This boy drama is serious apparently.” Wooyoung can’t help the annoyance that seeps into her tone.
She’s being selfish for wanting all of San’s attention, but letting go of her just doesn’t feel right. Especially right now when all of Wooyoung’s emotions have started boiling over the top and confusingly mixing together.
“Trust me, it is. From what was happening earlier, I am assuming Yeosang finally confessed to our other friend Mingi like he’s been wanting too and the response wasn’t what he was looking for.” San rolls her eyes, as she finds her panties and slips them up her legs.
“I’m also sure there was a misunderstanding somewhere or unrealized feelings on Mingi’s part. God this is actually so ridiculous.” Again, San sighs and this time it feels like it’s coming from deep within her soul.
“Once you’ve met Mingi you’ll understand. Completely stubborn, absolutely arrogant, but also the sweetest. We jokingly started calling him Princess to annoy him, but it stuck as a term of endearment.” San rambles still looking around the room
She doesn’t acknowledge Wooyoung’s burning gaze at all and it drives her even more insane.
“I’ll tell you more about it all tomorrow over breakfast, but essentially him and Yeo have been casually fucking for over a year,” San rolls her eyes and finally turns her attention to Wooyoung. “We’re not doing that. I don’t do ‘casual’ long term hook ups.”
Wooyoung groans into her hands, sliding them down her face in faux agony. Her heart had fluttered at the mention and reassurance that they would see each other again.
“Choi San, I will give you whatever you want. I will crawl across Japan on my hands and knees and swim across the ocean to the shores of Korea if you ask.”
Suddenly, San is back in Wooyoung’s lap, knees on either side of her hips and arms wrapped around her neck. Wooyoung’s hands instantly find their place at her waist.
The look they share is intense. San eyes are deep pools of brown, but so full of emotion it makes Wooyoung feel unworthy. She hopes her expression is one of devotion, something to let the other know that from this point on she is hers and nothing will ever change that.
“Good.” San says softly.
Their following kiss can only be described as tender. All of Wooyoung’s previous thoughts of possessiveness have quieted, nothing else matters besides San being in her arms.
“Meet me outside in the morning?” San requests when they finally break apart.
“Of course kitty.” Wooyoung rumbles happily.
“Perfect, now where’s my skirt?”
