Chapter 1: Tommy fucking dies

Chapter Text

Tommy stood atop a tower, the wind swaying him dangerously from side to side. He looked down at the mess that was once his home, holes scattered around, however a prominent one sat in the middle. His house and everything that it meant, gone without a second thought.

His house. His only belonging, gone.

Tommy took a deep breath, maybe his last. Stars twinked above, they looked inviting, begging him to come home. His proper home.

With one last look,

Tommy jumped.

-

Void.

A darkness you can't escape, and then light. Tommy squinted as the light got brighter, swallowing him whole and hugging him.

And suddenly, there were arms hugging him. Warm, comforting arms that wrapped around his body, like a hug from the sun. Tommy squeezed his eyes shut and hugged back tightly, he didn't care what was hugging him anymore, his only thought was that it was the first positive contact he's got in months. He felt like all his problems would disappear if he stayed wrapped in the embrace.

A laughed sounded above him, light and airy as if it was miles away.
"Hey dove, you've been through a lot, haven't you?" A voice spoke, it was familiar, like a distant memory.
Tommy looked up from where his face was pressed up against the person's stomach. His eyes scrunched up at how bright the world was around him.

Wait, was that Mum?

"M-Mum?" Tommy whispered, his voice hoarse from his pleading and screaming.
"Yes, dear." Kristin, The Goddess of Death, Tommy's Mother, smiled at him. He recognised the smile lines and how her eyes softened when she saw Tommy's shocked expression.
"Wha-, Where am i?" Tommy sputtered, looking around him.
"You're in limbo, a place for the dead to rest." Kristin replied, her voice steady, eyes soft.

Oh,
Yeah that made sense.

"I'm really dead?", Tommy looked back up to meet his mother's eyes. "It worked?".
"It did, I'm afraid." Kristin looked at him with sad eyes, a frown present on her face.

Tommy winced and went back to staring at the world around him. It was a beautiful forest, flowers and tall spruce trees surrounded them. The soft grass felt odd beneath his bare feet as he was used to the harsh, debris filled grounds of exile. He spotted a clearing a bit away where a pond sat in the middle.

"Is this my limbo?" Tommy looked back up to Kristin.
"Well, yes and no. Because you are my child, I made some... adjustments to your limbo. This is a place where you can come and visit anytime, however, I also made it so you can go back to the SMP if you please. Now this comes with some rules, of course. You're not allowed to visit as Tommy, you must be an animal or even a ghost, just as Wilbur did."
"Wait so Wilbur actually remembered everything?" Tommy interrupted before Kristin could finish.

"He did, though he chose to tell everyone he forgot the bad memories. Anyway, one more rule, you mustn't tell anyone you are Tommy when in the form of an animal. The only people allowed to know are Phil and Techno, mainly because they are also family and Phil is my angel." Kristin looked Tommy in the eyes before speaking again.
"I trust you can do that for me, dove."

Tommy nodded quickly and buried his face back into his mother's stomach. He paused before speaking again.
"I'm not sure Phil and Techno would want to see me anyway, they're not too fond of me after I sided with L'manburg." Tommy spoke quietly, silently hoping she hadn't heard it. However, knowing that Kristin was a God, he knew she had.
"Then i shall go with you to see them and if they try anything I will be right there to intervene." Kristin answered right away, not allowing Tommy to think too hard about his family's preferences on his presence.

Tommy squeezed her tightly for a second before muttering a small 'thank you' into her dress. He closed his eyes and melted into her embrace.

Maybe, just maybe.

He could be okay here.
