Chapter Text
"We're at the destination, commander!" a hatted boy said to the hologram of a green-skinned alien. He and his companion put their right hands at the side of their heads. And their left hands are next to their right elbows, doing the organisation's special salute.
"Very well! Don't forget your missions, and remember not to COME BACK UNTIL YOU SUCCEED YOUR MISSIONS!!!" the commander suddenly raised his voice at the end of his sentence, startling the two agents. Then the holograph disappeared without giving them another word.
A few months ago
The Kokotiam are currently at their underground base having their usual meeting with the commander and admiral. Admiral Tarung started the conference without a second wasted. The topic of this meeting is, of course, their new mission. However, there were a few twists from their usual assignment.
"Fang, Boboiboy, we have a new mission for you two. Recently we received a power sphere signal from E-04. E-04 is a planet similar to Earth except that 80% of the population there have mutations they call 'quirk'. This mutation allowed them to use some kind of superpower." the agents looked at the holographic commander and admiral in surprise. Yaya interrupted Kokochi, "But commander, why aren't we also on this mission?"
"This will be an undercover mission on a planet that we don't have any relation or information beyond the basics, so the rest of you will be staying here and continuing your mission per usual. You guys will be Boboiboy and Fang's backup in case of emergency," Admiral Tarung explained the reason to the rest.
Kokochi continued the briefing, "These quirks are separated into three main types, emitter, transformation, and mutant. While Boboiboy's power can be described as emitter and transformation type, it still doesn't justify how your clothes change. So we will need you to use power without form change or at least without any apparent changes. Will that be possible, Boboiboy?"
Boboiboy looked startled before fumbling for an answer, "It's possible but I won't be able to use my full power and get more tired easily." Commander Kokochi smiled before he replied, "That won't be a problem. We can arrange a schedule for you to come back to get a check-up and I permit you to not hold back in cases of emergency."
Boboiboy felt a little relieved hearing that. At first, he wasn't confident in himself whether he could accomplish this mission but since he could go all out during an emergency. He's now more sure of himself. "That's enough. Don't forget your missions are to retrieve the power sphere and evaluate if we will be able to form a positive relationship with this planet. We already send the rest of the information to you."
The moment admiral Tarung said the finished piece, the hologram disappeared immediately. Fang walked toward the computer and looked for the file. When he found it, he put it up for everyone to see. "It says here that the school we're going to is in Japan but we don't know any Japanese."
When Gopal heard that those two have to go to school. He let out a breath of relief and cried out, "Hah! Good thing, I don't have to do this mission! I won't be able to handle more schoolwork! I haven't even done mine yet!" Ying snide at Gopal, "Aiyaaa. Look at him! His friend will be going away for a long time and this is what he worries about!"
Yaya being the kind girl that she is, offers to help Boboiboy and Fang study Japanese since she was an embassy for their world Japan. The two were ecstatic to hear that there is someone knowledgeable and willing to help them. They thanked Yaya for her help and begin to discuss dates for tutoring sessions.
At the present
"I'm going to sleep," Fang yawned and promptly went upstairs to his bedroom. Boboiboy sweatdropped but also went to his room. Their temporary home is a single house on the outskirts of the city. It's quite far from school but it's necessary to avoid any prying eyes and ears. A lot of necessities have already been prepared ahead so, there is not much to bring except for a few of their items.
Other things they want to bring with them are enough to fit a small backpack. If there is anything else they need in the future, they could just buy it with the funds TAPOPS gave them, which suppose to last for at least a year. TAPOPS is unsurprisingly rich.
The next day
"Welcome all to my live show!! Everybody says, HEEEEY!" a blonde-haired hero yelled out. He struck a pose like he was waiting for everyone to say it. But unfortunately for him, no one replied. Trying to hide his hurt pride, he covered it up with enthusiasm, "I got feeling down my, too, listeners! All right, examinees... I'm gonna give you a run down on how this goes down! ARE YOU READY!?"
"YEAHH!!" Only the pro hero was yelling. Boboiboy and Fang were trying their hardest to hold the laughter in while. But their giggling session came to a stop when they hear a very disturbing mumbling be them. They turned their back to look at the owner of the sound, feeling rather a bit unsettled.
"Oh my god! It's the voice-type hero, President Mic! I listen to his broadcasts every week. It's so touching! Lecturers in the U.A. High really are all Pro Heroes," a green-haired boy mumbled, not noticing that he was disturbing other people. "Shut up," someone who seem to be his schoolmate said, clearly used to this by now.
"Now pay close attention, listeners! As indicated in the exam's pamphlet, candidates will have to participate in a 10-minute practice run at our replica city district!" The Pro Hero explanation brought their attention back to the front.
President Mic explained while doing dramatic gestures, "You can bring whatever you like! Go to your respective arena, after my speech, ya dig? O.K?!"
Boboiboy leaned in and asked Fang, "What's your arena number? Mine's D" Fang looked at his card and said, "Arena C." Boboiboy nodded his head and leaned back into his seat.
Mic continued to explain, "We'll be sprinkling a large number of 'villains' and there are three types of Villain-bots. Points values scale according to difficulty!! Use your quirk to defeat as many 'Villan' as possible; your goal as a candidate is to rack up high scores!! And don't even think about doing any villainy behaviour because that's against the rules, understood?!"
A blue-haired student with glasses put his hand up and stood, "Excuse me, may I ask a question!?" Mic pointed his finger at the student and approved, " Okay!" The spotlights were now on the student.
He pointed to his pamphlet, "The paper says there are four types of Villain-bots. Such an error would be the height of embarrassment for top-tier national academia of U.A's calibre!! We came here to seek guidance on the path to becoming model heroes! Moreover, what's with you? Yeah, you, the guy with Curly hair. You've been mumbling non-stop. Can't you sit still for a second... If you think this is some playground, leave now."
"I'm sorry...," the boy put his hands on his mouth, and looked down in shame, hearing snickers all around him certainly didn't help. "Okay, oookay. Thanks for the question, much appreciated, examinee N.7111. That's an excellent question. Thanks," President Mic intervened.
"The 4th Villain-bot gives you zero points! Let's call them 'arena traps'! It's there to distract you. Each arena will have one. It will charge anywhere. You can defeat it, but it brings no benefit. I suggested everyone to avoid it," President Mic gave out an explanation.
Tenya bowed his head, "Thank you very much! Pardon my directness." Tenya sat down after that. Fang raised his hand, "I also have a question." The spotlights are now on him. "What is it, boy?" Mic gestured his hand toward Fang.
"Is there a limit on our points?" Fang wasted no time in asking. President Mic put his hand on his chin, making a thinking face, "There's none! You sure are cocky to ask a question like that!"
Fang puts his hand down. He turned his head toward Boboiboy and smirked, "Wanna see who has the higher points?" Boboiboy gave fang a grin and accepted the challenge. "That's enough from me!! I'll leave you all with our school motto. The great hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said: 'A true hero never stops conquering the misfortune in life!!'
Now let's move on to the main event!! Plus Ultra!! And may you all suffer the trial to come!" with that end speech. Everyone went and prepared themself for the practical exam.
Arena C
Fang was wearing a grey t-shirt and black sweatpants. With a purpled jacket tied around his waist. He was listening in on other people's conversations to see if he could gain any new information. There wasn't any real information to gain since most of them were preparing for the exam or being wilder at the size of the arena.
When Fang heard a loud sound, he turned to saw that the doors were opening. Fang instantly summoned a shadow eagle and took off into the sky, leaving other candidates to push each other at the entrance.
Arena D
Boboiboy was wearing Thunderstorm elemental form's clothes which include his usual clothing in black with red lightning decorating them, and a red lightning bolt symbol resting on the centre of the cap. He zipped his vest halfway up, and a red shirt underneath the vest. Boboiboy also wore a pair of brown contact lenses.
This was one of the countermeasures of form change. But if anyone thought that he behaved differently. Well, then maybe it's just their imagination. As soon as the doors opened, Boboiboy wasted no time changing to Thunderstorm and used 'Thunderstorm sprint'.
