The rain outside is not ending anytime soon.
MyGo!!!!! members had just gone out together for a live show, tickets given by Ririko-san. Anon, the ever fun-loving person, invited the others to go explore the area, wanting to have some more fun and spending more time with her bandmates. However, fate was not on her side.
“It’s likely to rain”
“Rana-chan?” They looked at her in confusion.
“Rain. Looks like it’s going to rain.”
“Is it a stray cat’s hunch?”
Immediately after that, rain started to befall them. They needed to find a place to shelter from the rain fast, or their instrument would get wet. It took a while before they succeeded in convincing Soyo to let them stay at her house.
Once everyone had dried out and not under the threat of having a cold, they all settled in a comfortable silence. However, waiting for the rain to end was quite a challenge for two of these girls. Rana picked up her guitar to play, got a warning glare from Soyo, put down her guitar, and Anon was silently complaining non-stop in her head. Both guitarists needed some sort of entertainment fast, or they’d be bored to death.
Later, they all agreed to play card games, with the bassist winning almost every round. It was getting both repetitive and competitive. They even had to resort to changing games so they had a chance of beating Soyo- who claimed that they were just all “ very easy to read”.
Finally, after Taki finally got one win from Soyo, everyone was exhausted, thus they all wanted something to drink.
Which leads to now. Anon, Taki and Raana just came back from the coffee shop in the same apartment, after Soyo and Tomori just had a talk. They were quite curious about the vocalist and the bassist’s conversation, but ultimately decided to give them some space. Taki grows impatient and decides to question the two who stayed inside the house (aka Soyo) in the kitchen.
Anon is now left alone with the stray cat, which doesn’t satisfy her curiosity at all : she also wanted to know what the two girls were talking about!
Why did they say she’s predictable?!
Anon is, by no means, an open book! She might be expressive and all, but that’s because making yourself known and understood is quite a necessity. The pink-haired girl knows she has a cheerful personality, because people complimented her on that all the time. She also knows that she is quite a social butterfly as she has the abilities to make friends and fit in anytime, anywhere. She’s also quite a genius, if she says so herself. That's what she, Anon Chihaya, thought of herself, at least.
Thinking back about it now, were they guessing which drink their band members would choose and buy? It makes sense, Tomori was staring at her drink, after all. And she also did glance at Soyorin and muttered something to her after seeing Rana-chan’s matcha latte.
In the pink-hair guitarist's most humble opinion, seasonal-Valentine’s day-limited drinks should be everyone’s to-go order when it's on the menu. One look at the drink’s name should get a good idea that the drinks would be good, and special, and perfectly trendy for social media. And it is amazing, just for your information !
For appearance, it's adorable : a cute whipped penguin on top of sweet sugary marshmallow decorated on top of a pink cup. That cup has some rich brand logo, also decorated with a cute heart pattern, filled with pure, hot, rich chocolate in it. And taste wise, it is an absolute delight, especially in this rainy weather.
Drinking the hot beverage, she thought of something. Something very obvious.
If predictability was mentioned , shouldn’t it be Rana-chan and her matcha latte that is the most obvious thing? Why are they saying it's her that is “simple-minded” and “predictable” when everyone knows what the professional guitarist likes and wants.
Deep into her thoughts, Anon didn't see the stray cat getting ready to take a nap. Walking up to Anon and absurdly sitting down on the sofa, She was hugging a pillow, already feeling sleepy, calling out to Anon : “Anon, sleep?”
A beat of silence passed , before Rana asked again, moving closer to the pink haired girl, voice only a bit louder : “Take a nap, Anon?”
“Huh? Oh…Uh…?”
“…”
Despite being unsure of what to say, she knows she needs to reply, she doesn’t want the other girl waiting.
“Rana-chan…. Do you really want to sleep on the sofa? Want me to ask Soyorin for her bed?”
Raana just stared at her. Guess that’s not what she wanted, Anon concluded. She really must fancy sleeping on the sofa.
Anon was just about to move when Rana suddenly shifted sideway, lowering her head on Anon’s thighs?! And arms still hugging the pillow like her life depends on it. She yawned, moving her legs up the sofa to make herself comfortable
That completely took her by surprise! Does Rana-chan sleep on people's laps that often? It can’t be that comfortable, right?
Right?
“Rana-chan, do you need a blanket?”
“No. Pillow is warm”
“I see. Are you sure you don’t want to sleep in Soyorin’s bed?” Rana just shaked her head slightly, “Might be more comfortable.”
“No. This is fine”
“Alright then. Tell me if you change your mind.” The white-haired girl closes her eyes.
“Well, sweet dreams, Rana-chan.”
Oh wow.
She’s really comfortable on a sofa with her lap for a pillow.
Only when the shorter girl seemed content and clearly asleep does Anon’s mind begin to wander again.
Tomori mentioned wanting to know what Rana’s ‘interesting’ meant before, and now that left the older girl to ponder. Does her “interesting” mean unique? Special? Different? Oh wait, those are basically the same. How about ‘making her smile’ or simply that she likes it? She has never called matcha flavored stuff interesting, though. Now that she thinks about it, she’s pretty sure only people are called “interesting”, never objects. So something personality related?
Now Anon was just hit with a big realization: they know next to nothing about Rana.
For Anon, Rana is a strange girl.
No, actually, strange is an understatement, Anon had realized.
Raana does things at her own pace, only doing the things she wants to, and the things she doesn’t want to? She absolutely refuses. Her likes and dislikes are obvious for anyone who have eyes, and even those who are oblivious can take a hint. She’s free-spirited, her way of living makes people think of a cat- a stray cat, and her instincts are somehow always spot on. The girl was curious by nature, and her love for matcha flavored sweets and drinks were evident. The girl can devour a matcha parfait in less than 3 minutes the last time she keeps count, and she heard that the matcha-flavored candy bag she bought for the cat was finished in the same day that it was given.
Her guitar skills are no joke either, the girl can play just as good, if not better than most professionals. Apparently, she’s already well-known as quite a star, as young as she is. She plays like her soul and guitar have merged as one, always a spectacular sound. A piercing sound. A unique sound. An interesting sound. Her sounds are always so… refined? Refreshing? It’s very Rana-chan, at least.
The first time the stray cat crashed their practice and started playing the guitar, Anon felt like an idiot. She said something like “ I’ll play the band”, take one look at the music sheet, and immediately played a guitar solo worthy of a professional concert level. At that point, Anon thought quitting the band altogether would be better, but she stayed anyway.
Rana doesn’t talk unless she absolutely has to, always talking in simple sentences, at least to humans, anyway .But somehow she’s able to understand cats? Does acting like a cat ensure you understand them? Anon really doesn’t have the answer for that.
And that's the problem. Except for those characteristics, they know next to nothing about their stray cat, Anon thought.
Now that’s quite troublesome. What is she supposed to do with this information. The guitarist, face now scrunches, looks at the sleeping girl, like she was an enigma.
A strand of hair falls on Rana’s peaceful sleeping face. Anon absentmindedly brushes it away.
Two hands cup her cheek.
The older girl looks at the younger girl in surprise.
Raana smiles and pulls her face closer to hers.
“...Rana-chan?”
“Anon”. Raana’s smile grows bigger.
“ Interesting girl”.
Wide eyes, Anon stared at Rana. A blush crept to her face. What does that even mean? Is it a compliment? A thank you? Anon has no clue. She’s more confused than ever. Before she can even ask the smaller girl, she noticed that the other has gone back to napping.
Oh well. It doesn’t really matter. She hopes the stray cat have a good rest. She chuckles, mostly to herself.
“Rana-chan... You’re interesting, too”.
