A Fun Idea

Summary:

"I have a fun idea."

Soon after, the media gets wind that the Parisian heroes had each found love (in completely non suspicious simultaneous timing) with civilians from Francoise Dupont High School. Chat Noir had found himself rendered smitten by aspiring designer Marinette Dupain-Cheng, while Ladybug had found an equally famous match with model Adrien Agreste.

Prompt idea posted by livhoff10 on Pinterest in which Marinette and Adrien make Ladrien and Marichat public relationships after the reveal just for fun. cause why not?

Notes:

I literally have midterms in a week. The wait for season 6 is driving me insane and this is what has come of it. It's currently 1am. I apologise in advance.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

“I have a fun idea.”

The bug and cat duo had handled the reveal well; as well as they could have. Sure, there might have been a few tears. Marinette might've almost fallen off the roof they found themselves situated on, but overall, it was great.

As a surprise to even herself, Marinette kissed him first. The moment they’d composed themselves enough to think straight she had essentially thrown herself to him. Adrien didn’t complain, in fact he did quite the opposite; after all, she’d only beaten him to it by a few milliseconds.

The nerves melted away slowly after that. By the time the sun had set behind their view of the Eiffel Tower, the couple; couple? Yeah, the couple had buried themselves into one another's sides, scrolling aimlessly through videos on Adrien’s phone.

“I have a fun idea.” Marinette turned to face the blond next to her.

“M’lady, that's usually my department.” Adrien smirked back, earning himself a slap to the chest.

“Seriously though, it would be hilarious.” She baited.

“You’ve convinced me.” Adrien nodded eagerly.

That weekend, the media got wind that the Parisian heroes had each found love (in completely non suspicious simultaneous timing) with civilians from Francoise Dupont High School. Chat Noir had found himself rendered smitten by aspiring designer Marinette Dupain-Cheng, while Ladybug had found an equally famous match with model Adrien Agreste.

To the news’ delight, an akuma attack forced the two into the public that same weekend, and after an uneventful fight, Ladybug and Chat Noir exchanged glances as they confirmed the rumors.

The two collapsed in laughter in Marinette’s room later that night as they watched texts and calls from friends, family, and broadcasting corporations flood their phones. They both questioned how their personal numbers had been acquired by so many people so quickly, though Adrien, being relatively used to it, only laughed harder as his girlfriend scrolled her call history with eyes wider than satellite dishes.

They were more than obvious in their goodbyes that night, making sure that at least one camera caught Chat’s exit from Marinette’s balcony and that Ladybug and Adrien were photographed at dinner even later in the evening.

“For someone who hates the media so much, you seem to be enjoying this.” Ladybug eyed her partner over the pizza they’d ordered.

“It’s much more enjoyable when they're photographing both of us M’lady, also, I’m not in my pajamas right now.” he pointed a slice of the pie at her, “The Ladyblog needed some new pictures of you anyway, i’ve already seen all of the ones Alya’s been putting up lately.”

“I’m sorry, are you saying you follow the Ladyblog?” Ladybug half giggled. “Are you obsessed with me or something?”

“Says the girl who had my schedule on a giant roll up poster in her room.” Adrien shot back.

Ladybug choked on her pizza at the mention of that. “I regret telling you that.”

“Yet here we are, I stalk you on the Ladyblog, you stalk me through excessive tracking.” Adrien shrugged with an exaggerated smile, probably for the not-so-stealthy cameraman staring at them through the window.

“I wouldn't call it tracking.” Ladybug attempted to defend herself, “You forget that you’re on the Teen Idols Top 100 List, the entire world knows what you’re doing on any given Tuesday whether they care or not.”

“Yeah, but most people don’t write it down.” Adrien countered.

“Fair point.” Ladybug held her hands up in defeat.

An hour or two of banter and intentionally ignoring the growing crowd of camera flashes surrounding them, the pair actually did retreat to their respective houses, Ladybug hoisting herself into the night, Adrien being picked up by his driver.

Of course they knew that their friends would have questions for them on Monday, what they did not anticipate when they walked into the school was to be obliterated by their entire classroom the second they stepped in the door.

Adrien got there first.

“AGRESTE.” Seemingly the entire room yelled as he walked in.

Chole begged him to dump her, unsurprisingly. Alya stared at him skeptically, solving calculus equations in her head. Nino repeated the word “Dude” about seven hundred thousand times. All while the rest of his friends asked stray questions and… planned his wedding? It was best not to ask.

He took the casual approach, as if dating a girl who was exclusively seen in spandex flying around with a yoyo accompanied by another guy was completely normal. He was saved when Marinette walked in the door 5 minutes later.

Alya spotted her first, immediately standing and slamming her hands on the desk in front of her. “MARINETTE DUPAIN-FUCKING-CHENG”

“Uh, hi?” Marinette cocked her head innocently as she slid into her desk. Adrien almost broke right then and there, she was going the “I have no clue why this is a surprise to you” route.

“This,” Alya began, pulling out her cellphone, “is a phone, normally when a friend calls you over 30 times in a row, you pick up.”

“Right, sorry, I was a bit busy this weekend y’know?” Marinette smiled.

“Yes, I do. Me and all of Paris know. Were you going to tell us that you were DATING CHAT NOIR?” Alya screeched. At this point, Adrien was one in the crowd, everyone focused on Alya and Marinette’s interaction instead of the ones centred on him from two minutes ago.

“Oh right! Yes! I am. Dating Chat Noir that is.” Marinette posed, complete with jazz hands to finish the announcement. Her eyes met Alya’s, who were not mad, but so confused that Marinette shot her a “What? What am I missing?” look.

Alya discreetly pointed in the vague direction of her earrings, and then Adrien infront of her, who was too busy explaining himself to Nino to notice.

Um. Shit. Luckily Miss Bustier walked at the same time, so everyone else fled back to their desks. Yeah, Marinette didn’t think this far ahead. Her mind raced to those who knew both sides of her mask while still staring Alya dead in the eyes. Luka. Felix. Kagami. Alix. She was dead. Ruined. Moving to America in the next seven business days kind of ruined.

She sent Adrien an emergency text while Alya was called for attendance.

“We’re fucked. Roof in 15.”

“I forgot that she knew! Who forgets something like that?” Marinette paced above her classroom while Adrien watched, unsure how long it would be until his girlfriend spontaneously combusted.

“We just have to tell her.” Adrien caught her by the waist as she walked by again. “I mean, doesn’t Luka know who we both are? We’ve handled that. Plus, then we’d have full control over the Blog.” He joked.

“Can we do that?” Marinette looked up at him as if she hadn't considered it. What if’s bubbled in her throat. She didn’t think Alya would blab, but still.

“Either that, or she thinks you’re cheating on me…with me.” Adrien shrugged.

“I really don’t want to deal with that.” She dropped her head onto Adriens chest, almost laughing at how quickly their plan had hit its first hitch.

“Then we tell her.” Adrien decided. “She’ll probably slap us, and then reprimand us, and then ask a lot of questions, and then she’ll hit me again.” He predicted, “But then she’ll probably think it’s the coolest thing in the world.”

“You’re probably right.” Marinette chuckled.

“At lunch in the basement?” Adrien suggested.

“It’s a date.” Marinette stuck a thumb up. “Miss Bustier is going to kill us if we don’t get back soon.”

“I can’t take two beatings today.” Adrien whined dramatically.

“Alya is not actually going to hit you.” Marinette flicked his nose in response before beginning her masked descent back into the school.

~

“Ow!” Adrien exclaimed as Alya landed another semi-hard blow to the back of his head. “I thought you said she wasn't going to hit me!”

“Idiots. Total idiots.” Alya murmured. “I’m not saying this isn’t the best thing that's ever happened, because it is, but you two are idiots.”

Marinette and Adrien laughed as Alya started between the two of them for the next three minutes.

“I told you it would be fun.”

Notes:

How did they get out of class? Great question. I don't know :)
