Chapter Text
Sunrise struggled against his restraints, his wrists burning at the tight ropes. He had woken up about thirty minutes ago, if he had to guess, and so far, had nowhere to go off where he was. He had a cloth of some sort tied tightly around his eye, squeezing into his head so much any tighter and he would pop. His wrists had a similar fate, tied behind him on the surprisingly plush chair. When Sunrise had first awoken, he had heard voices talking quietly to each other. He had tried to beg them to help him get out, but soon realized that the voices were most likely the ones that put him into this mess. So instead, he focused his effort onto attempting to untie or break the scratchy ropes around his wrist.
The quiet voices never acknowledged him, simply continuing to talk. Sunrise tried to calm his racing thoughts and think carefully. He slowed his struggle down to a stop, taking a few deep breaths. What would Moon do if he were here? Moon probably would have never even ended up in this situation, but that's beside the point.
Moon would probably try to eavesdrop on his captors, right? Moon would try to work out what they were planning and calculate a negotiation or a plan. Sunrise could do that; Sunrise was good at listening.
How he wished he had access to the panel on his arm, he could turn up his audio receptors and hear everything loud and clear. Instead, Sunrise strained his senses, trying to make what the voices were saying.
Despite not understanding what they were saying, listening to the two voices told Sunrise a lot. He heard a glitchy, yet uncomfortably smooth voice mutter happily to someone, the hints of a British accent surrounding his words. In response, he heard a suppressed cackle, immediately followed by a manic and scratchy voice, a growl ever-present in the speech.
Ruin and Blood Moon.
Sunrise's struggles started up again with a newfound panic. He pulled and tugged at the ropes, trashing around like a caged animal. The conversation between the two insane bots stopped, the only sound filling the room now being Sunrise’s struggling.
“Brother, brother, look! The sunny one is thrashing again!” One of the twins laughed, his voice no longer hushed.
“Caged and scared! The ropes he tries to tear!” The other twin sung, clapping his hands together.
The rhyming was met with all three of them snickering, Sunrise’s panic obviously amusing them all.
“Now, Blood Moon, don’t frighten our dear brother,” Ruin’s voice cut in, his words dripping with poisoned honey, “His mind is still a bit scrambled, yes?”
It sounded as if Blood Moon bit something. Ruin most likely got a bit too touchy for his liking, if Ruin’s delighted yelp was anything to go by.
“Yes! Mind all scrambled, like eggs!”
“Or guts!”
“Just so, other!” The Blood Moon twins giggled. Sunrise whimpered at how close the voices sounded, his fear and confusion taking over his emotions.
“Sc- Scrambled? What?” Sunrise’s wobbly voice forced out, his struggles once again dying down a bit.
“See? Poor thing doesn't even know what’s going on,” Sunrise flinched as Ruin patted his head, twiddling with the rays.
“Just so! But we can help! We take that pesky blindfold off and make him see!”
“Make him look!”
“Remind him of his brothers!”
“Remind him of Ruin, Myself, and I!”
Sunrise’s brain struggled to keep up with all the information being thrown at him. This was all so strange, and the feeling of Ruin’s claws on his rays was making him nauseous. Remind him of his brothers? What did that even mean?!
“Yes, yes, Blood Moon, I hear you. Harvest, do be a dear and calm down Hunt, yes? Just a few more minutes and we can start.” Ruin continued to stroke Sunrise’s rays. As much as Sunrise hated it, he was frozen in fear; there was no telling what Ruin would do if he pulled away. “Now then, how are you, dear Sundrop?”
“It’s Sunrise, and not good! You- You tied me to a chair! Let me go!”
Ruin made a small cooing noise, ruffling Sunrise’s rays, “See? Like I said, all scrambled,” Ruin said with a mocking sadness.
Sunrise’s fear was quickly being replaced with annoyance. It wasn’t his first time being kidnapped, not even his first time being kidnapped by Ruin, and he was frankly quite over it. In the back of his mind, he knew that he shouldn’t push his luck. He was sitting helplessly with the two most unpredictable animatronics ever made. However, Sunrise had never been one for thinking through his words when he got annoyed.
“Ok, what is up with all this weird cryptic talk?! You kidnapped me, so what do you want? You’ll have to give me my hands and eyes before I can call Moon for you,” Sunrise snapped, yanking his head away from the uncomfortable petting.
“Ooh, there’s that spark! I was beginning to wonder how long you were just going to sit there,” Ruin chuckled to himself, moving his hands away from Sunrise’s head as if Sunrise were a feral dog.
“Ew, why would we wish to call that ugly Moon man,” Blood Moon said, Sunrise could practically hear the disgust in their voice.
“I- I don’t know! Why else would you kidnap me?!” Sunrise scowled, steam puffing out of his vents.
“Oh, Blood Moon! I think he’s ready!” Ruin sang, placing a hand on the knot that held the aggravating cloth over his eyes.
“R- Ready? Ready for what?” Sunrise felt a small bit of that fear build back up, but it was quickly squashed with the feeling of Ruin petting him again, “Stop that!” He snapped out, annoyance getting the better of him.
He had been sitting in this chair for faz knows how long, itchy ropes binding his arms behind him and a blindfold tying too tight over his face, giving him a headache. That paired with the fact that he seemed to be the only one out of the loop, being treated like one of the kids he looked after, was making him very angry.
The blindfold released from his head, and he prepared himself for the shift in lighting. What he did not prepare himself for was to be met with Blood Moon, inches away from his face. Sunrise let out a yelp, pushing himself as far back as he could with his limited mobility.
“No need to scream, brother! At least, not in fear!”
“We have no want to hurt you, see?” Blood Moon backed slightly to present his hands. Sunrise assumed they were trying to show that they were unarmed, but he ended up just doing a jazz hands motion instead.
Sunrise relaxed slightly, realizing that if they wanted him dead, they would have done it long before now. Although, dread pooled in his stomach as he realized that must mean that they had something else, something possible worse, in mind.
Ruin pets his head again and Sunrise lets out a growl. Ruin laughs at the sound from behind him, this time not moving his clawed hand away, “Now, Sundrop, there’s no need to fear your family!”
Sunrise paused, baffled. Family?! What the hell?!
“We are not family- And my name isn’t Sundrop! It’s Rise! Sunrise! Or just Sun!” Sunrise felt the irritation begin to bubble inside of him, his ventilation system working on overdrive to keep him from overheating. Distantly, Sunrise wondered how Ruin was still able to keep petting him, his head must be burning to the touch. He hoped underneath that stupid calm facade, Ruin’s hand was melting.
Sunrise didn’t even realize over his anger and ranting that Ruin was slowly guiding his head back down, a soft grip on his rays to hold his head in place. The movement was so slow that Sunrise didn’t even notice that he was now looking back at Blood Moon. Sunrise barely payed it any mind when Blood Moon eyes began to move, most likely an aesthetic choice of Ruin’s that he just hadn’t noticed before. Although he would admit, it did look cool.
It wasn’t until Ruin started playing with Sun’s rays again that he finally stopped his ranting, his words being replaced with a growl. Ruin looked down at him with a sickeningly soft smile. Ruin’s calm demeaner was starting to get on Sun’s nerves. Yet, at the same time, Sun couldn’t help but leach off that calm feeling. Maybe the whole ray situation wasn’t so bad. As annoying as it was, it did feel objectively nice.
“Do you like them?” Ruin asked, snapping Sun out of the daze he was in. Sun mentally cursed himself for letting his guard down so close to the enemy, “I painted them myself, took me a whole week to get them to look that nice,” Ruin hummed, looking down at Sun. Sun, however, did not look up at Ruin, instead staring at Blood Moon. He honestly almost forgot the person those eyes were attached to, yet he couldn’t bring himself to fully care.
Sun hated the fact that his own optics started to betray him, feeling as if they were suddenly made of lead. He wanted to close them, but the eyes in front of him were so pretty. Blood Moon leaned forward, close enough to feel the hot breeze coming from Sun’s vents. Sun stayed still, his droopy vision following Blood Moon’s spiraling eyes.
“Now, dear Sundrop, remember that fiery anger you felt mere moments ago?” Sun nodded lazily, his eyes staying on Blood Moon, “I want you to focus on that feeling,” Ruin said smoothly, continuing to stoke Sun’s rays, “Embrace it, Sundrop.”
Sun once again nods, his head tugging more and more down.
“Aw, that Moon really did a number on you, hm? Left you all alone,” Sundrop let Ruin’s words sink into his brain. Distantly, something in his mind whispered that something wasn’t right, but Sundrop pushed it back deeper, “Don’t worry, Sundrop, your brothers are here now,” Ruin purred.
Sun whined at the loss of hands on his rays. A soft chuckle came from the broken animatronic behind him, “Don’t fret, dear brother, I’m just going to get those pesky ropes off. They must be so itchy, hm? Worry not, I’ll take away all the bad feelings,” Ruin said with a smile, dragging out the ‘all’.
“We.” Blood Moon growled quietly, speaking for the first time in a while.
“Yes, yes, we will take away all the bad feelings.”
Sun let out a sigh as his hands were released, Ruin rubbing at them softly. Ruin guided Sundrop’s hands into his lap, laying them down gently.
“Now, Sundrop, it’s time to wake up dear,” Ruin purred, being met with a whine from Sun, “Don’t fret, Blood Moon will help you.”
“Yes, yes, we will count, and Sunny will wake!” Hunt cheered, keeping his head steady despite his excitement.
“Count to five and Sundrop will come alive!” Harvest chirped in reply, grinning.
“One.” They said in unison; Sundrop felt something inside of him stir, something awakening.
“Two!” Blood Moon leaned back a bit.
“Three! Oh, we can hardly contain our glee!”
“Four.” Blood Moon’s eyes slowed their spinning as they saw their sunny brother starting to blink.
“Five! Five!” They grinned widely; their eyes finally stopped twirling.
Their grin didn’t last too long, though, as they watched as Sun’s head dropped to his chest, eyes finally closing. They looked up at Ruin with a glare, the other seemed unsurprised.
“What is this?! He was supposed to wake, yet he is more asleep than ever!” Blood Moon growled loudly, annoyance at his older brother’s stupid theatrics.
“Give him just a moment, Blood Moon. Gosh, you two really need to learn patience.” Ruin replied, annoyance coating his own voice, “But do keep up that worried tone, we did just rescue him from the big bad Moon, after all,” Ruin snickered.
Blood Moon thought to themselves for a moment before grinning, “Oh, we understand now! Sunny wakes up at home after! It would be strange to blink and be somewhere new!”
Ruin rolled his eyes at Blood Moon slowness, but nodded nonetheless, “Yes, dear brother, we must paint the perfect picture if this is to work! We can’t just steal a brother without deleting the other, hm?” Ruin said dramatically, his joints creaking in protest as he twirled.
Blood Moon cringed, “Do not twirl before we get you more oil.”
“Yes! The noise is that of forks on plates!”
Ruin scowled, sticking his cable-like tongue out at Blood Moon. Blood Moon responded with similar immaturity, waving his hand next to his face in a taunt.
They both ceased their nonsense at the sound of a groan coming from the chair. Blood Moon leaned over Sundrop curiously, watching as their brother blinked his eyes open. The twins noted with slight pride that Sun’s eyes had a similar swirl to their own in his pupils.
“Wha- Where am I?”
