Work Text:

All the occupants of the Horror House, both temporary residents and permanent ones, were all pretty similar on the surface. They all enjoyed killing and tormenting their victims, all had a pretty high kill count, and they all had a specific gimmick.

Some people had their looks, like Freddy's signature ugly sweater, signature stupid fedora, and signature gross face.

Jason used his old camp grounds to hunt for his victims. Plus he seem to get more murderous when Summer came around.

Bubba didn't really have a time or place were his bloodlust peaked, but he did get a special little look in his eye when around his chainsaw and hooks.

They all had their little gimmicks and it's one of the things separating them from the run of the mill serial killers, but Billy didn't really relate to the other occupants of the house. He only really stuck around the house because Michael was here. You see, Billy and Michael have a very close bond, at least in Billy's eyes.

We're Michael was strong, tall and silent willy was fast, Goblin sized, and a loud mouth. They were two sides of a really fucked up coin and nothing exemplified this than their respective holidays. Halloween and Christmas.

Michael's holiday was Halloween, he'd go out and torment Hadensfield for the holiday than only really killed sporadically throughout the year.

Billy's holiday was Christmas. Something about their respective holiday just filled them with bloodlust. Billy knows Michael enjoys all the things that would build up to the slaughter. The costumes, the candy, the thrill, and the fear that permeated the entire month all culminated into one night.

Billy wishes he could feel the same about his own holiday but Christmas was very different from Halloween. Sure there was a lot if excitement people felt for the holiday, but that excitement grated on Billy. Family, fun, good will towards your fellow humans, all that bullshit brought out the worst in Billy.

Family will abandon you when you're an inconvenience to them and people only consider you human if you follow all of the rules, regardless of whether they are spoken or unspoken rules. All the positive emotions around this time just made him want to show people just how flimsy those ideals were.

The first Christmas celebration that happened in the Horror House had nearly ended in Billy attempting to kill everyone in the house.

~~~ flash back ~~~
The house had changed over night, it looked like someone had puked Christmas decoration all over the place. Billy could have tolerated the decor long enough to get to his van to go on his killing spree but then he came across his house mates.
Jason was in a festive apron baking cookies while Bubba was singing Christmas carols, and Freddy was somewhere close by if the smell of his burnt corpse was any indication. Michael was no where to be seen or heard. Billy knew this was going to be a disaster, Michael wasn't here and he was going to be stuck with the pratically-strangers all celebrating Christmas when it was still a week from December. Who fucking does that? Michael never did this in the asylum! Hell, he'd murder anyone who tried to take the Halloween decorations down around their room, it was literally one of the reasons Billy liked Michael so much!
As soon as Halloween was over, Billy's bloodlust was ever increasing, it felt like it was coming sooner and sooner every year, which was probably because everyone acted like there wasn't a whole month and a half between Halloween and the 25th of December! This fact only made Billy more agressive, things he use to be able to tolerate, even liked, were becoming increasingly irritating. It really wasn't that big of a surprise, at least to Billy, when he reached his breaking point before he even got to the kitchen.
~~~

Billy had been tied up in the attic after having successfully killed Freddy. He had started off by going for Bubba's throat with the Texan's own knives, hoping to break his vocal cords so he'd never have to hear "Let it Snow," again. He would have slaughtered that caroling fucker too if Jason hadn't grabbed him.

Billy was actually glad he hadn't managed to hurt Jason. Jason, being more into the summer holidays, hadn't actually done anything to provoke Billy's bloodlust aside from getting in his way aside from wearing that stupid apron. Plus he seem to be really good friends with Michael so Billy tolerated the guy way more than anyone else.

Jason, with the help of some cookie dough, had actually managed to calm Billy down enough to let him go. Then fucking Freddy had decided to show his ugly face while dressed in a Santa costume. Billy had been so enraged that he had blacked out in his sudden rush for bloodlush. When he became aware of his surroundings again he noticed he was kneeling over a headless body with his hands covered in blood.

"You need to calm the fuck down!" Michael's voice rang out from above Billy. He briefly wonders were Michael had come from before he's being grabbed by the man himself. Billy struggled of course, but he was like the only person in this house who wasn't over 6 feet tall so Michael could easily over power him. Especially when it was so close to Halloween and Billy had kind of just exhausted himself will tearing up Freddy.

If Billy had really wanted to, he could have fought Michael, maybe remind the guy why he couldn't get ride of Billy, but he was tired and wouldn't mind some alone time.

Billy could have done without the ropes though. He gets Michael didn't want Billy moving about the house when he was on a killing spree, but he could have at least have not left Billy on the floor.

"I'm really sorry about Billy guys, I should have told you this was his usual time of the year." Billy can hear Michael's voice carry through the ceiling. There were no secrets in this house that Billy couldn't hear.

"Attic Goblin's on his period?" Freddy half joked before someone gave him a whack. Billy hopes it was Michael but knows it could have realistically been Jason or Bubba.

"What!? Little fucker literally busted my head in for no reason!"

"Freddy, Shut the fuck up, your probably done enough time deserve it," Michael's annoyance really shown through.

"Yeah Freddy, Shut up." Of course Jason would back up Michael, "But he does have a point Michael, Billy just went feral for no reason."

"I'm actually really nice to the guy but he tried to stab me in the throat just for singing a Mariah Carry song," Billy can not see Bubbas face but he does feel a twinge of guilt, probably the only remorse he'll ever actually feel, the guy didn't even have a bad singing voice.

Bubba was actually someone Billy could see himself getting along with if Billy ever bothered to leave the attic.

"I'm real sorry about this Bubba, it's not that Billy hates you, he just-" Michael tries to gently explaind everything to the Texan gentleman before being interupted by Freddy.

"Mistake Fatso for a Christmas Ham." Freddy's stupid laughter gets cut off with a another whack. "Ow!"

"Freddy I will get Billy back down here to kill you again," Michael threatens. Billy can't help but smile at the idea of tearing apart Freddy again, this time being fully aware of it.

"Michael! Michael do it! Do it! Let me tear him apart!" Billy changes his voice with every sentence before devolving into a fit of laughter. He could hear Freddy jump at Billy's sudden voice.

"Alright, sheesh," Freddy tries to come off as calm an unbothered but Billy can smell the man's fear. (It smells like bacon.)

"Billy, if your sane enough to make threats your sane enough to come done and apologize to Bubba and Jason." Michael shouts at the ceiling. Billy flinches aware from the floor, Michael knows he doesn't have to shout for Billy to hear, and he knows Billy is tied up but expects Billy to come down?

"Fine!" Billy shouts back at Michael as he squirms up to his feet in a matter of seconds and jumps his way down the stairs to the room where everyone had gathered.

"I'm here asshole!" Billy glares at Michael.

"I was gonna come up and untie you if you had just given me a minute!" Michael shakes his head at Billy's impatience.

"Oh..."

"Billy... don't you have something to say?" Billy hated it when Michael's voice got like that, he acted like he was a disappointed father scolding his kid, even though Billy was technically older than him.

"Bubba, i'm sorry I tried to cut out your vocal cords. Jason thanks for stopping me from killing Bubba and I'm sorry you had to step in," Billy sincerely apologized before turning to Freddy.

"Bacon-"

"Attic Goblin."

"I regret nothing." Billy looks Freddy in the eyes as he says this.

"Fuck you!" Freddy pracrically growls out.

"Billy!" Michael chastizes.

"Fine!" Billy yelks at Michael before turning back to Freddy. "I'm sorry... that I didn't mange to permanently put you in the ground!"

"Billy cmon," Michael sighs.

"Cmon Michael! You know he had it coming! Besides I apologized to Bubba and Jason! Your not getting anything else out of me unless you've got some pudding cups." Billy is dead serious in his tone.

"I'm not untying you until you actually apologize to Freddy." Michael crosses his arms in defiance. Billy's eye twitch at his old roommate.

"I forgive you Billy," Jason's voice cuts the tension in the room in a matter of seconds.

"Yeah I forgive you too, your not the first person to kill me for singing carols too early." Bubba laughs.

"Great!" Billy gives the two a beaming smile before turning his cold eyes back to Michael. With a few seconds of squirming the rope falls down to the floor, freeing Billy.

"Maybe for Christmas you can ask Voorhees to show you how to tie a real knot Michael." Billy knows Michael understands Billy's implications.

"I'd be happy to show you a few techniques Michael!" Jason innocently offers.

"You use those techniqueson me anytime Michael," Freddy's smile is anything but innocent. Jason, Bubba, and Michael all look at each other as if to say 'who's turn is it to hit him?"

"Oh! My turn! My turn!" Bilky answers their unspoken question than knees Freddy in his special spot. The man kneels over in pain, calling Billy everything but holy.

"Anyway," Billy turns attention back to the rest of his housemates, "I'm m leave for a while, don't wait up."

"Your not gonna spend time with us for the holidays?" Buubba asks but is ignored. Billy grabs the rope Michael had used on him, picks up a spare knife from the kitchen and makes his way to the garage without bothering to look back at the rest of the killers.

The sound of a van starting up is heard and then Billy is gone, more than likely going to be gone for the entirety of the year if not longer.

~~~
After that, Billy was more careful around the house after Halloween. He tended to leave before Thanksgiving but would sometimes find himself staying until the week before Christmas as the years went by. Looking back on the first attack, Billy probably only got so irrated because he was living with strangers he didn't know that well. But he had gotten to know Jason and Bubba more and he found that he could tolerate them even when they were doing Christmas countdowns.
Regardless of how tolerate Billy had gotten towards the holidays, Jason was still considerate enough to tell Billy a day or so before he started decorating and Bubba had kept his sing down, at least until Billy had told him he actually like Bubbas voice.
None of the other house mates who had joined the house ever had to experience how Billy got when Christmas came around, but they did get warnings from Michael, Jason, and Bubba. Freddy actually tried to get other people to wear Santa Clause costumes but those people just assumed Freddy wanted to roleplay with them.
No one ever bothered to ask why Billy got so volatile during December, but then again they all had their own gimmicks and reasons behind their gimmicks so they had didn't have any room to judge.
Especially when Michael had holiday specific hang-ups too.
~~~

Billy did not like Brahams for the first few seconds when the man had shown up in his attic.

But after the initial shock of a stranger being I'm his space, Billy had quickly warmed up to the masked man. He learned a lot about Brahms, about how he lost his best friend when he killed her at the age of 8, how he had to live in the walls for his own safety and how his nanny broke the rules leading to Brahms loosing everything. Brahms couldn't match Billy's energy, but to be fair most people couldn't, but his calm and quite nature reminded Billy of Michael when they first became roommates

Both kids were reserved but would become volatile when seemingly small rules weren't followed. It's was like having Michael as a roommate again, except Brahms, despite any similarities, was not Michael. Brahms could be very prim and proper due to his up bringing and couldn't always handle Billy's vulgar nature. Dispite this the two still became close, and Billy appreciated having another person in the house who understood what it was like living in unconventional places in a house.

Brahms, much like Billy, wasn't very social due to his isolation as he grew up and had not broken out of that habit yet, so he must not have been warned about Billy's relationship with the holidays.

"Where are you going?" Brahms asked as Billy got his duffle bag ready.

"Don't know, I usually just leave for the holidays," Billy says as he tests the strength of his new rope. He was thinking about either strangling someone with it or getting someone else to strange him with it, maybe in that order if he found the right people at the right time.

"Your not going to stay?" Brahms drops his child voice, something Brahms rarely dropped until he was being absolutely serious.

"I almost never stay for Christmas, I am to Christmas as Michael is to Halloween." Billy had gotten pretty good at explaining this weird quirk to people while still maintaining privacy around the matter.

"Oh!" Brahms voice raises in octave in understanding, "Well who are you going to celebrate the holidays with? I didn't think you had any family outside of this house."

Confliction silences Billy for just a moment while thoughts rush through his head. He wants to tell Brahms to mind his own buisness, maybe coldly tell him why he gets so violent around this time of year to shut him up. But that might be too cruel to say to Brahms, and Brahms is the only one who isn't scared of Billy.

He's tempted to tell Brahms that he's wrong, these is no family for Billy, not in this house and not outside of it either. Billy also wants to believe Brahms since he'd always thought of Michael as his brother since their time in the asylum, but knew Michael only really saw him as a pesk, like a cancer that just kept coming back. Instead Bill avoids the actual answers to Brahms questions.

"Billy does not celebrate Christmas or any holiday around this time. Like Michael, I go out and kill, it just takes me a bit longer to pick my victims out and kill them off one by one." Billy can't read Brahms face, especially with that mask, but he can tell Brahms is judging him. Billy knows the man has killed before but he didn't relish in it like everyone else in the house. Billy didn't really talk about killing around Brahms, it had never really come up, but Billy is beginning to think that might be why Brahms stuck around Billy.

For a split second Billy fears he had lost Brahms by bringing up his killings, but quickly dismisses the fear. He never needed anyone before, he had survive without any friends before and he can do it again.

"Oh, well before you go will you please indulge me in a small celebration of the holidays?" Brahms asks innocently. Billy can't keep the soft smile that spreads across him face. Billy shouldn't have rushed to the worst case scenario with Brahms.

"Sure, I'm not in any rush." Billy decides to indulge with his friend, he could tolerate the holiday a bit longer if it ment bonding more with Brahms.
