Chapter 1: Song of Birth and Destruction

Summary:

In which we get an insider's look to a horrorterror's m:nd and consequentially run kicking and screaming away from it.
This is NOT how the rest of the fic will be written, so don't get /too/ scared.
Ehehe.

Chapter Text

Temporary by Homestuck
You die Once; you die a thousand times.
You were born, Once; you lived a thousand lives.
You were formed, Once; once you return to where you came from.
You Sang, Once; you held your Song a thousand times.
You had two daughters, Once; a thousand ways they left you.
While they leave, you sing them the Song; they never came back, Once.
A girl called you Mother, Once ~ still she left you a thousand times.
A girl called you Lusus, once ~ yet never could you stay.
For you lived only One life, made of thousands; so you die One death, a thousand times.
You created this world, a thousand times; only Once did you let it live though your Song. And a thousand times you will have never Sung.
A thousand times, you sang the Song of your Creation ~ the Song of your Death ~ and a thousand times your work withered away before its existence.
Once, your Daughter came. And she alone enjoyed your Song, and joined into your Song of Ages, of Creation and Death. Ages pass while the universe is created by you.
For you and your Daughter.
Then she left you
twice.
She left you for the universe you made for her to sing before with you.
She left you to make a universe with the words you gave her.
She left you with one request: that you still your Voice for her. But a thousand sweeps is a moment, and a moment like a thousand sweeps again.
And the song waits. The song is the Creation, and the Creation must listen.
You could not wait on her when she could not wait on you.
When your Daughter was about to leave; not once, but again; You sang as you died,
You daughter came to you a thousand times; you loved her Once.
To half your daughter you sang; to half your daughter you spoke.
Once, she left you; a thousand times she did it again.
She would only truly leave you Once.
Into the Game; the game you despised.
The Game you built.
The Game you Play ~ but you Play not the Game, you Play with It.
She left you.
She left you into the game you Love.
And the Game killed you, Once; your fall was seen a thousand times.
And you Sang as you fell, Once; a thousand times.
You kept your Song once and a thousand times.
A once where you daughter never left you more than half; where the Game would never her steal; you do not Sing.
For that once could not live as the Once. And so you could not Sing your Song of Death, because the Song of Creation was not Sung.
For they are one and the same, the Song of Ages, the Once.
You only ever Sang Once.
Only Once you fell; a thousand times did you fall.
But a Thousand times would you die; only Once did you live.
A life that circles and twists, a life lived a thousand times, all at Once.
Such is the nature of the Ring.
And you are the Ring's singer.
Once did you Sing, a thousand times could you not.
But it was only ever Once for you.

Lotus Land Story by Homestuck
Made by the awesome Flipspring.

The huge body that floated up to the surface they rowed out to, even after their Empress told them not to. The huge white mass they died staring at. Although She told the world to keep the carcass untouched until She could look at it herself, the world itself thought otherwise. The rain fell, the wingbeasts flew, the wind roared while holding the sand of the desert. She arrived on the island, and stared into Her empty eye.
She threw her trident into Her eye; It would not budge Her. An island was born there, on the back of the dead beast, an Other. They tried to cut Her open, to see if Her Blood would spill, blood as royally pink as Her Daughter. Even if they could, there would have been nothing more than a Vast Nothing that would swallow the seas and still demand for more.
Two daughters Mourned that day ~ the two halves of the Mother's one Daughter; a Once out of Thousands.
Every Daughter mourned when She died.
Some mourned their universe.
Some mourned their empire.
Some mourned their world.
Some mourned their life.
They all mourned their Mother.
This time, they mourned little but that. For that day, when Something should have happened; nothing did. The Song slowed to a still, for the Singer was no more. Every Daughter knew that. Since She did not Sing, the world was never born. Yet it never died. A once which would never Once happen. A splinter. A world where twenty four trolls lived without a birth. A world where the meteors which formed the universe never fell. A world without the Game.
Doomed.
But a universe of trillions takes a long time to kill off. There would be time enough for the halves of the Daughter to meet and collide without a Mother to keep them in line.
How long would it take for it to be killed off then?

Notes:

Wow. Okay, I mangled the usage of the semicolon; it is so destroyed.
So what do you think about the inside of a Horrorterror's mind? In my opinion, they need to either stop reading William Strunk, or actually not repeat the same thing a thousand times and twist it more every time~!

Anyways.
I think the music goes great with this chapter, if you can read the first part slow enough so that it syncs.
BTW: if anyone wants to illustrate this, even (especially) if it's just little sketches, I WOULD BE SOOOOO HAPPY!
