Chapter Text
REGULUS ARCTURUS BLACK is an ambitious person.
When he started something, he ensured that he went up and beyond the standard that was set. People often called him a suck up, thinking that these words would deter him from his mission of making the Black family the pinnacle of nobility.
But hell no . Some snot nosed, wannabe kids with money and no dreams would never set him off his path to greatness. Regulus had a shit ton of goals and he had the means of reaching them, therefore he should. He was gifted with his grandfather’s name and his grandfather was nothing if not the most ambitious man he’s ever seen.
Like he said, one of his missions in life was to make their family the pinnacle of nobility.
The Black family was already known as Noble and Most Ancient. Notable people in the family include Phineas Nigellus Black, former Hogwarts headmaster and Order of Merlin, First Class recipient, and Arcturus Black, recipient of an Order of Merlin, Third Class.
Soon, his name will be up there too. For one of Regulus’ missions was to put his name, along with names of his brother and his cousins, up there with their grandfather and the former headmaster. It was an admirable goal, steep, but not unachievable. To Regulus anyway.
His main goal was World Domination but that came in the end and the first step he must take to achieve such a hefty goal was to make connections.
As the heir presumptive of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, Regulus had people lining up to be in good graces with him. They assumed he was the future Lord of the family and he found that absolutely preposterous. He would never be Lord of the Black family for so long as Sirius was able bodied and alive.
Regulus knows that the people think Sirius would be disowned due to his Gryffindor sorting. Heck, their own mother was contemplating it. What they don’t know is that Regulus would never let it happen. He would never let anyone strip Sirius of his birthright, not even their psychotic mother.
All that being said, Regulus is a respected member of the House of Black. In terms of pedigree, he was definitely a frontrunner in the consideration of most desirable pureblood bachelors. Everyone clambered to hold some sort of standing with the teen. They know he’ll be something great.
In hindsight, Regulus should’ve seen this coming but everyone has their flaws and he wasn’t exempt from that no matter how perfect he appeared to be.
What happened, you ask? Well, life did. Life was a nasty bitch but it didn’t know Regulus was probably the nastiest person you would ever have the pleasure of meeting.
