Chapter Text
It had been a week since they all moved into the apartment and there was an awkward feeling in the air. Of course they were all polite to each other but they also were keeping their distance from their rooms.
The three of the had assembled a way of living together in tranquility, they would all pitch in money for groceries and rotate who makes breakfast. They wouldn't eat it together it was more of a grab-and-go thing mostly because of their different work schedules. Megumi was home most of the day taking online courses Yuuji and Nobara each had their own jobs out of the apartment. For lunch, it was an eat wherever you are, so they would eat at the apartment or at their job. When they all got home they went to their respective rooms and unless they went to the kitchen or the living room they wouldn't bump into each other but that all changed one day on the 8th day of moving in.
Megumi woke up at 5 am normally he wouldn't wake up until 7:30 am to get ready for his online courses, but he had an early shift at the coffee shop thing morning instead of his late shift. Like normal Itadori was already up because it was his turn to make breakfast before work and Kugisaki was fast asleep before she had to wake up and get ready in the next thirty minutes.
Megumi saw Itadori making breakfast.
"Good morning Itadori", Megumi said. Itadori was surprised to see Fushigiro up this early
"Good morning Fushigiro, what are you doing up so early normally I don't see you in the mornings."
"I have a morning shift at the place that I work at, normally I work at night."
Itadori just nodded. An awkward silence filled the air along with the smell of waffles and bacon. There was a beeping coming from Kugisaki's room. Fushigiro grabbed a waffle and sat down at the table as Itadori ran off to get ready. A few minutes later Kugisaki stepped out of her room and grabbed a waffle-like always she was dressed well her style actually matching unlike either of the boys Megumi who threw on a t-shirt and a pair of jeans or Yuuji who wore the same hoodie every day she had a different outfit every day.
Fushigiro's alarm went off telling him to start walking to the subway station. Despite the place already telling him they'd have a guitar ready for him he still brought his own just in case there was a mishap which happens more often than people think.
It was a cloudy day slightly cold as the city got ready for autumn leaves falling from trees and people traded their short-sleeved shirts and shorts for leggings pants and sweaters or coats. Fushigiro was wearing a long black coat and a scarf with jeans and a sweater he tended to be more on the chilly side so he also was wearing a pair of gloves.
when he got down to the subway station he saw Itadori there but thought nothing of it there were tons of buses going in and out and to different parts of the city all the time. When his bus was called he boarded and so did Itadori he was surprised. As the bus pulled to his stop he got up and so did Itadori this felt like too big of a coincidence but he said nothing. Then they turned down the same street and walked in an awkward silence. itadori was the first one to say anything.
" Hey what a coincidence huh."
"Yeah, I'm just turning the corner here to get to the coffee shop that I work at."
"Hey same I think you work where I work."
For some reason, this made Fushiguro blush just a little he felt... flustered. Luckily before he could think about it for too long they were already at the coffee shop. the coffee shop was called Gojos Cafe and was a tourist attraction from one of his shows where he plays as a cafe owner.
Yuuji held the door open for him and closed it behind him the shop had a few minutes to open giving time to help the morning workers get everything set up and giving him time to set up his equipment.
out of the side of his eye, Fushigiro saw Itadori talking to some of his co-workers, it was his cousin's friends Panda and Inumaki they were all talking and then they glanced at Fushigiro but quickly looked away. Fushiguro looked down and focused on tuning his guitar.
On the other side of the restaurant was Fushiguro he was fiddling with his guitar he looked beautiful, thought Itadori. his two co-workers inumaki and Panda turned to him and gave each other a look.
"Itadori why are you staring at Fushigiro like that," Panda said. Both Inumaki and panda stared at him waiting for a response.
Itadori blushed a little but laughed it off a little too forceful, "no he's just my roommate."
Inumki signed something but the movements were to fast for Itadori to understand but Panda laughed. Just then Maki their manager walked over.
"Why are we all laughing and not working we open in three minutes, she said. Everyone busied themselves with something. Itadori started wiping tables and setting them up for customers which was totally not an excuse to look at Fushiguro or anything haha...
The first fewhours of the cafe being open were slow and soft music was coming from Fushiguro's guitar. It sounded beautiful even though Itadori didn't know what song it was. Fushiguro's really pretty an intrusive thought in the back of Itadori's head said which had completely stopped him from whatever he was doing to think about but before he would for long a familiar out of breath ginger was running in the cafe. She was on the phone arguing with someone but hung up to order. She looked like she ran all the way here and Itadori wanted to pull up a chair just in case she passed out or something. i need- pant pant- a... Carmel Macchioto, Venti, Skim, , Exta shot, Extra hot, Extra whip, Sugar free. Luckily maki caught the complicated order and Inumaki came over with a chair so she could sit down. A few minutes later her name was called and she was gone again. Itadori and Fushiguro just stared at each other in shock of what just happened then some snickering was heard and it looked like Panda and Inumaki were trying so hard not to laugh every one turned to look at them and they burst out laughing Maki started laughing too and then Itadori Fusiguro even let out a small laugh it had been the first time Itadori saw him do that in the week he had been living with him. Itadori and Fushiguro shared a small smile together
The morning had turned noon and then evening the night shift came and Fushiguro started to pack up he got a lot of applause from the morning and afternoon shift they gave him a free coffee and pastry which he happily enjoyed on the bus home.
When he got to the apartment he saw Itadori and Kugisaki laughing on the couch choosing a movie to watch they both turned to greet him.
"Fushiguro come watch with us, Itadori said."
"You can help us choose the movie, Kugisaki said"
"I want to watch the barbie move, Kugisaki said."
"I want to watch the hunger games, Itadori said."
"Shut up you only want to watch that for Jenifer Lawrence, this is why girls don't like you!"
"How would you know, are you even popular enough to talk."
They both started bickering back and forth between each other. Fushiguro started laughing and the fighting stopped as they turned to look at him then Kugisaki started to laugh too and Itadori too. Fushiguro grabbed the remote and sat on one end with Kugisaki in the middle and Itadori on the end he went to turn on perks of a wallflower. The three of them sharing one blanket watching a movie and eating popcorn and that's how the tradition of movie night fridays started.
