It is just a storm

Chapter Text

Dazai hid slightly against Chuuya. Brown eyes were filled with tears as he tried to wrap his mind around the fact he presented as an omega. Mori was going to kill him. He always made it supremely clear that he had no use for omegas in the Mafia.

Chuuya gently ran his fingers through the mop of brown hair. Trying to provide a source of comfort. It was only luck that Dazai was already in his flat when it happened. The confusion and fear he saw was enough that he wanted to kill Mori and be done with it.

Unfortunately, Dazai would never allow that. He had no interest in running the Port Mafia and with the latest well it would be hard.

“Are you okay?” Chuuya knew it was a stupid question.

“No.” Dazai sniffed slightly. “Mori is going to kill me. He made that clear time and time again Chu. And I can’t pretend to be a beta even if I tried, since all my medicines need to go through him.”  Dazai pulled away.

He ran his hand through his hair. Chuuya watched as he paced. “Mate with me.” The words left his lips before he could stop himself. Dazai froze as he turned to face Chuuya.

“Why? You hate me on a good day, why would you want to spend the rest of your life with me?” Dazai chokes slightly on the last part. He had known for a while that he had a major crush on the alpha. But there was nothing that he could do about that.

“Osamu, I might complain and get angry when you annoy me. But I don’t hate you. Plus, if we do a soul bond Mori won’t do anything to you and you know that.” Chuuya pulled Dazai back onto his lap. Allowing the words to sink in.

Dazai closed his eyes as he tried to gather his thoughts. “Are you certain?” He hated the quiver in his voice as he looked at Chuuya.

“Yes.” Chuuya easily pulled him into a light kiss. “All will be fine. You will see. It might not be easy and there will be a lot of things we will need to work on, but all will be fine.” His voice was low as he rubbed Dazai’s back.

Dazai settled back down. “All right. How does a soul bond work?” Dazai could feel his face heating up slightly at the question. He knew a lot of things, but for a long time, he ignored the fact that everyone presented when they were around sixteen to eighteen.

Chuuya was early on his sixteen birthday he presented as an alpha. Now two years later it was Dazai’s turn.

Chuuya smirked slightly when he saw the blush. “It is simple. We will need to go to the gifted priest to perform the ceremony, and then we get back home we will consummate it. Just before I knot you, I will bite you right here.” Chuuya gently traced the scent gland, watching as Dazai shivered.

“It will be fine.” Chuuya gently pried Dazai away from his chest where the younger was trying to hide. “We just need to move fast.”

Dazai was silent as he just nodded. Glancing at the floor. The fear of what Mori might do was still clawing at his chest.

A soft kiss on his head made him focus back on Chuuya.

“All will be all right. I promise.” Chuuya whispered the words as he gently rubbed Dazai’s wrists.

The week was almost a blur. Between missions and making sure that Mori doesn’t meet with Dazai, they managed to make an appointment with the gifted priest.

Dazai glanced at Chuuya. Before looking back at the floor. “Are you sure about this?” He swallowed slightly as he tried to look as if he doesn’t have a care in the world. Everyone he cares about eventually leaves him. Why would this time be any different?

“Dazai, look at me.” Chuuya forced Dazai’s chin up. He stared at him until Dazai finally focused on him. “I am sure about this. Are you okay with this?”

A shy nod was all he managed to get.

“Hey look at me.” Chuuya waited until Dazai was refocused. “I know I should have said something sooner, but I like you. A lot. And I know this is a lot, but we will be okay.” They worked well together. This wouldn’t be anything different than their normal partnership. Of that, Chuuya was relatively sure.
